In 2013, he was diagnosed with something called "heliobacter pylori", a bacteria that would've likely turned into stomach cancer if it hadn't been treated early like it was (although he had been enduring stomach pains for several years already). As far as is known, he has received or is still receiving treatment for this, and he's doing fine.
