That blind worship is exactly why I haven't bothered listening to them. Stupid, yeah, but maybe someday I'll ignore the fanbase and give them a try. Even if I do prefer Luna Sea.

I've been a fan since 2006 and haven't heard an X Japan or hide song. I'm not interested so I never bothered listening, lol. I could name drop song titles that I've seen everywhere but wouldn't actually know what they sound like.

Idk why Kyouki is so hoarse and raspy in this release but I like it. It gives their music a nice edge. I just hope it isn't health-related. Clever Sleazoid is one of my fave Diru songs so I was pretty happy with 失明, lol.

I have another one: D'espairsray has never stood out to me as a band. They're highly praised by old and new J-rock fans alike and I'm over here like ????????? because I could never get into them. "Forbidden", Maverick and Fuyuu Shita Risou are the only things I can dig. They don't suck by any means, I just don't understand the hype.

I was wondering why Machi randomly changed his IG handle, this explains it. Genki had an interesting quality to his voice, not sure how to explain it but I liked him a lot. This new vocalist is too generic.

I can't connect with most fans because of what you mentioned above. I hate it because I truly want more J-rock/vk friends, but 9 times out of 10 when I try to initiate a conversation, it ends up being about Dadaroma and such. I'm not so much of a vk oldfag that I shun all newer bands--there are actually quite a few that I like, they're just the few that most fans don't bother checking out because they don't look like Gazette or Mejibray or whoever else. Like, there are so many other bands out there. Be more open-minded. I understand having a preference but I also don't get why people always stick to the same few without exploring anything else unless it's a carbon copy of what they like. Idk, maybe I'm just getting old.

I haven't listened to Matenrou Opera since Kassai to Gekijou no Gloria and I'm kinda reluctant to check them out with Anzi being gone. I feel like he was a big part of what made their music good.
