  1. Zombies, just because vampires and werewolves were ruined by Twilight for me.

    This.

I think what interests me most about the "zombies" scene is the survival aspect to it in a post-apocalyptic world. It doesn't have to have zombies in it, for instance, I absolutely love the movies The Postman and Mad Max 2.

  2. Zess is the community relationship therapist.

And the fact that you made this post, gekijou, already shows that you do know it's a problem.

It's not healthy in any way or form. Nothing happens over night, but if you make sure to put yourself in the right mind set and begin telling yourself that it's not healthy and to move on, you'll begin to make the steps in doing so, and it'll feel blissfully wonderful later down the road when you look back on this and realize that you made through it and came out of it a stronger person.

  3. ... and the body is actually polyurethane which is the material they make football helmets out of.

Which is a polymer, aka plastic.

I have a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, it was between that and the ASUS transformer. I honestly wish I went the ASUS tablet after using this one. Initially I was turned on by the built in IR capability and using it for my home theater set up. But I honestly have never used it other than to troll my friends and their TVs/cable thinking someone was sitting on a controller changing the channels and shutting their TV's off (with all the controllers sitting in one place with the batteries out at this point).

I had to buy a skin to put on it so it would feel heavier in my hands. It literally almost blew out of my hand when a bus went by the day I got it. It even fell from my bed while plugged in charging, mind you about a foot off the ground, and the plastic around the connector on the tablet snapped off and bent the connector.

While I am kinda done with Apple and their phones (standing from a developers point of view) - they make (er... made I guess) a device that simply just feels nice in your hands. Mind you, I don't like how light the iPhone 5 is, which is in the same category as why I don't like how the Galaxy SIII feels simply for its weight.

  4. How's that Galaxy S3 holding up? I was considering getting it but very turned off by the plastic body and how light it is.

I'd love to get a Nexus 4 but... ha. Good luck on that one unless you're willing to fork out $500 on ebay for one. So I was thinking of the LG Optimus G since they're essentially the same exact things.

  5. I do so much more on my tablet than just read, so I would never consider an eINK device. I actually think they're quite ugly. The technology is cool, but not practical in my needs.

I have a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. I use to use the Kindle app, but have since switched over to Google's Play Books - partly due to the technology behind the book formats.

We live in the 21st century. While I do see the joy in picking up a book and plopping down on the couch and flipping through the pages (I have an entire bookcase and boxes packed away full of books I've read), I don't think we should be limiting their eBook counterparts to the same level. There is so much more information, data, and visuals that can be captured and presented to the end user in a book now. Wanna learn about a character in the book? Tap their name and their profile pops up spilling the details and facts. eBooks can have their own "encyclopedia" linked to them to provide an extra layer of immersion that you can't get in a paper bound book or eINK reader.

    EDIT

One reason I forgot to mention why I switched from Amazon's kindle format to Google Play - Google Play's books can be access from any device, unlimited times. Doesn't matter if you have an iPhone, Droid, iPad, Android powered tablet, an old eReader (you have the ability to download your book purchases as ePub or PDF which you can then transfer to your eReader), or sitting at your computer. You can access and read your books from where you last left off. Everything is in sync.

And quite honestly, Barnes and Noble is a joke right now. I absolutely love their stores, but their eBook/tablet shit is ridiculous.

  6. Yeah no more friend codes. It integrates with your Nintendo account~

We have one with New Super Mario Bros U, which is fun. But.. mario is mario. But I do say, that two player in the game is pretty fun with the tablet (let's the tablet user place blocks and affect the game in certain ways)

We use the tablet as a controller for our TV and cable more than anything though (it honestly replaced about 3 of our controllers).

We only have a 510 sq ft. one bedroom apartment, and I was hoping to be able to play Mario while in bed when I can't sleep on the tablet, but I can't get anymore than 10-15 feet from the console before it loses connection. That's okay though, because I got a vita to fill my mobile gaming void.

With everything that I said though, I'm not bashing the console. I enjoy it, and I look forward to what Nintendo (and hopefully, other third party developers) bring to the console. I'm excited for the new zelda(s) and mario kart that will be coming out.

  7. Almost all my IRL friends I met online first.

@manda and I met online over five years ago, and we have been happily dating (and living together, I might add) for two years now.

I also hang with @Arithmetica (she lives a few blocks from me) when I can 8D; I have this habit to just stay indoors even though I live smack-dab in the middle of old Nihon Machi (or the International District, as the city now likes to call it because the Chinese bitched a fit.)
