have you heard their earlier releases (Revolver - Hameln)? they sound a little different from SINDRA and after so you might want to check them out if you haven't 2010 was a decisive point in vistlip's career cuz they had that horrible accident in August which changed the band quite a bit in a variety of ways.

 

hmm, GLOSTER took a long while to grow on me. it was unusually heavy compared to everything vistlip had done up to that point. even though i definitely appreciate it A LOT more nowadays, GLOSTER remains one of the vistlip releases i listen to less (relatively)

 

LAYOUT was amazing T_T i love REM SLEEP as well.. but my favorite track is Idea. it sounds so classic vistlip

I began with STRAWBERRY BUTTERFLY which hooked me instantly. I was so enthralled by vistlip, it made me explore their previous releases and I wasn't disappointed. And then when the preview for SINDRA came out, I knew instantly that this band was going to be very important to me. It's funny because vistlip has brought at least 6 or 7 people into my life and the band has had an influence in friendships I've made IRL too which I find crazy and remarkable honestly. For 2 to 3 years, they were a huge part of my life xD

 

God... I remember watching the revelation space DVD and fucking crying LOL

I really liked Patriot and Revolver, and thought Theater was good.

 

But I don't have a single thing from them after that. I don't remember if that was a conscious decision because I didn't like some new single or if I just stopped keeping up.

 

So what post-2010 (which @hiroki mentioned was kind of turning point and seems to be when I abandoned them) is good? Give me a few song reco's to check out.

@@hiroki, When I was writing the tracks and etc, I was listening to the previews from the very first releases on their ohp, and I really enjoyed some, the highlights are probably EDY and THEATHER OF ENVY songs, but not Hameln at all xD

What happened? I probably missed this info when searching some extra from them.

i've started listening to them when they formed and i followed their few first releases~ i came back to check out their stuff after few years, but even the old singles which i used to like don't sound so good to me anymore

you know what? Patriot and Theater are my favorite vistlip releases Revolver is kind of a stand-alone cuz that was their very first release and i don't think they ever reproduced that kind of sound anywhere else after that (especially songs like Edy and Black Tail, although Moon Light Snow Rabbits is archetypal of what would become one of their signature styles).

has one of my favorite melodies that always bring me back to the times when they were writing earlier songs like 影鬼, -OZONE-, 星屑、ボクと君へ。

is possibly my favorite vistlip song? the relentless drive in this song is unreal. it's like they packed every single emotion that ever existed into 4 minutes+.

 

is rougher (though still a distance from songs like Night Parade or 零 haha). this is my favorite vistlip song from their recent stuff i.e. post-CHIMERA.

is rather distinct as well - my favorite track off GLOSTER which is their heaviest release to date.

 

ok i hope you find some songs that you like from this list i've been listening to vistlip again over the past week and they just reminded me what a big part of my life they are >_>

I began with STRAWBERRY BUTTERFLY which hooked me instantly. I was so enthralled by vistlip, it made me explore their previous releases and I wasn't disappointed. And then when the preview for SINDRA came out, I knew instantly that this band was going to be very important to me.

That's nearly the exact same starting experience I had with Vistlip. 

When the LMN J countdowns were super popular on Youtube, STRAWBERRY BUTTERFLY was on the list for several weeks.

I absolutely fell in love with the song, and their concept + style blew my mind (NEXT was also a super awesome track).

I listened to the THEATER album a lot after that (Dead Cherry, CLASSIC OPERA, and LION HEART mainly).

 

They were kinda on the backburner for me until SINDRA, which created some mind blew-ception (July VIIth [Re:birth] is still in my top 5 tracks).

 

Then ORDER MADE came out, aw hell no. The shit I went through would've given Leonardo Dicaprio an aneurysm.

Still my (collective) favorite album/mini-album/single to this day. (android's dream, milk&macaron, and ORDER MADE my faves)

The ORDER MADE MV was beautiful. 

 

Since then I've really liked CHIMERA and most of the LAYOUT album. Idea is probably my favorite track by them at the moment.

CHIMERA was really good! The single also came at an important time, i.e. after Shinkaigyo and GLOSTER - and I was afraid that vistlip was gonna go down the "harder" route and never come back T_T So CHIMERA restored all my faith in the band inc. is also one of the my favorite songs (@Mi'ihen's too I think!). Everything about it is just classic vistlip XD

 

Ahh my favorite LAYOUT track is also Idea. It seems we have similar tastes lol.

my favorite is definitely Mob Character, followed by CONTRAST, then Which-Hunt. Not that i dislike Which-Hunt, but i have a major soft spot for vistlip's fairytale-ish 'pretty songs' haha

resurrecting this thread just because.

 

ever since i fell in love with vistlip i made an internal commitment to go through their discography at least once every few months. the latest iteration of this took place over the past few days and i died so hard. it might have been because literally half of my top handful of bands have disbanded/announced disbandment over the last couple of weeks/months and it struck me that one day vistip will be gone too. i'm not sure. but listening to early vistlip (especially patriot and theater and their first few singles) made me feel like it was just yesterday that i experienced my first and possibly most intense love affair with a vk band. out of the 1000+ bands that i've encountered since i couldn't find another band that gives me the same feeling vistlip had given me, and i doubt i ever will. they are so special.

 

also if anyone wants to talk about tomo's lyrics please say so and await my verbal diarrhoea. until now no other lyricist (or for that matter, writer) has resonated so powerfully with me.

 

if not, let's discuss their recent releases?

Oh yes, vistlip~ Newest single is great. I replay "Avalanche" a lot.

 

I'm listening to vistlip because of my friend. She showed me "Chimera" and now they're one of my faves. I especially like songs like "Tsuiraku" or "Babel".

They are also, too, one of my favorite bands and I love listening to them and always await their new releases but I never try to imagine them gone or anyone for that matter just got to hope they push on forever<3.... I paid attention on Vistlip cause that Rui was in the same band with Yuuki(UnsraW) XDDDD.   My favorite song is alone. And it was a big fun to watch their short movie on v-style move(or some other site? too long to remember).
