Dying girl taunted by vengeful neighbors

A seven-year-old girl in the US who is dying from a degenerative brain disorder is being bullied and taunted by her neighbors due to a longstanding feud.

Jennifer and Scott Petkov have posted pictures of Kathleen Edward on Facebook, mocking her illness by digitally altering her face with a skull and crossbones.

They also have a coffin sitting on the back of their pick-up truck parked at the front of their house, which they claim is simply a Halloween decoration, Fox News reports.

Police say they have been called out to the street in Trenton, Detroit many times to deal with “family feud?? issues.

A member of Edward’s family said the problems first started around two-years ago over a children’s birthday party.

Jennifer Petkov sent a text message asking if her children could join the party games happening in the front yard. But she did not received a response quickly enough and has allegedly been harassing the family ever since.

There has been a swell of support for Kathleen Edward since the feud became public, both from the online community and within Detroit itself, with a rally planned on October 23.

The anonymous online forum 4chan is also reportedly throwing its weight behind the young girl, posting the Petkov family’s home address and phone number online.

Edward is in the final stages of Huntington’s Disease, which killed her mother when she was only 24 years old.
