I have actually been meaning to get back into Dir en Grey, the last album I heard though was Withering to Death when it was released. Could someone point me in the right direction? I don't know where to start.

I think this is a great topic, so I'm gonna bump it back up. My tastes have been changing over the years, but my core must listen to albums have remained consistently the same over time. Just a list, no explanation (listen to the music for yourself ) and only full albums. Top Ten list: 10. L'arc en Ciel - Tierra 9. Sigh - Imaginary Sonicscape 8. Malice Mizer - Merveilles 7. X-Japan - Vanishing Vision 6. Gilles de Rais - Satsui 5. Flower Travellin' Band - Satori 4. Yellow Magic Orchestra - Solid State Survivor 3. Zazen Boys - Zazen Boys IV 2. Luna Sea - Mother 1. Dead End - Ghost of Romance Of course this all only my opinion. Edit: honourable mentions go to the bands LOUDNESS, D'erlanger, Kuroyume, DIE IN CRIES, and Guniw Tools. Laruku's album Tierra was only recently brought to my attention. I can't stop listening to it.

I don't know if it's been mentioned yet in this thread by I highly recommend Kafka on the Shore by Haruki Murakami. It's an absolutely excellent book, can't really describe it too well without spoiling a large part of the story.
  5. If anyone wants to jam out, I'll be in MH chat!

Can you make it possible to edit a status update? I make typos occasionally, and would really like to be able to edit them, as it bothers me. Also, YOSHIKI chips.
  9. Question: Would anyone by interested in Sabbrabells and LOUDNESS discography if I uploaded it?

I recommend the gangster flick Sonatine. It's not action heavy, but it is quite interesting and funny.

I think I'll upload the Sabbrabells discography after work. Only thing missing is the live cd. Been uploading a bit recently and trying to give back to the community a bit since I've grabbed so much over the years.

I completely forgot about these guys, it's been many years since I listened to them. Maybe I'll have to check it out!

Reviving this thread. Band: Dead End Song: Beyond the Reincarnation Dead End has alot of great songs, but over the years this one has really stood out to me. Compared to Dead End's other songs, this is in the middle of the spectrum between soft and heavy. The song has an especially nice bass line that sends shivers down my spine. The lyrics themselves are very nice too, I think Morrie really poured his heart into this one. To me the song screams loneliness and desolation. As the song progresses there's quite a nice solo that is very slick, and it's not too fast or slow. I personally think it's the perfect cadence and length and it seams perfectly back into the main chorus of the song. All in all, I think it is an extremely well thought out song, all the pieces fit together, and it conveys it's message very well. Truly a masterpiece, I think I will be coming back to it for my entire life. I especially love to listen to it while I'm walking alone at night, it's like my night time pub crawling theme.
  18. I've been really digging on Veiled in Scarlet's new album. They recieved alot of hate on youtube for their vocalist though. They say his voice is really raspy and sounds like a gremlin but eh.. I kind of like it. It takes a backdrop to the fucking insane instruments.
