Playing Final Fantasy VII for the first time since it was on sale on Steam and I wanted to know what all the hype was about. Was a little bored at first, but it's finally starting to get exciting now that I'm getting to the Sephiroth part. Can't help feeling like the graphics look super dated compared to Final Fantasy III/VI, though, which is the only other FF game I've ever played besides Tactics Advance. Although maybe that's just because I love that game so much.

The lines in [ ] are what Takeshi is saying in the background. You have to press the "watch on YouTube" button for the video because apparently Victor don't allow people to embed their content anymore. Such a beautiful plastic world!!! It does, Kuga will play a solo show on August 19th.

Byo's costume is fabulous, but everything else about this seems pretty meh so far.

umbrella are performing in Toronto for the third time on August 11th. This time it's at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre, and I think it's sort of being hitched on the back of Toronto Anime Matsuri? http://xxumbrellaxx.com/event/96310 http://j-rocknorth.com/jmfest/ Is anyone else planning to go? The tickets are $10 cheaper if you buy them before tomorrow, just FYI.

I don't get the hate? His solo single was acceptable enough, and it's a free concert at a convention. I'd go if he was playing at Anime North, and literally all I know about him is that one BFN song I like and that he enjoys ice cream and crop tops.

The real question for me is: can Tsuzuku dance? I've never been a fan of Mejibray, so I'm kind of curious. I mean, if they're going to play this kind of music, I'm expecting some dance breaks, and somehow I doubt Koichi is going to be the one to deliver.

Just FYI guys, the support member's name is Yamamitsu. https://twitter.com/neko0908287

Man, how have I not seen this one before? Such a good GMA set. I always forget how much I love Shinzou Egutte. The guy from Golden Bomber singing the high part in Sora bakari mite ita might be funnier than all of the shenanigans going on in the background though.
-
It's a lot simpler than I expected them to go after the first look, but it's pretty cute. Probably a lot smarter for summer than the layers and layers of fabric everyone was wearing before.
-
Oh nice, I really liked Takeru. Happy to see him back so soon.
-
I love the guy, but this barely even sounds like his voice. It sounds like some generic radio rock band started by a bunch of guys in their mid-twenties wearing all black and studded belts like ten years ago.

Yeah, Youtube views are definitely not a good gauge of popularity. I remember seeing one video from a band I follow that had way more views than the others they made (they usually average ~10K, and this one had about 120K) and being like "Oh, they must be getting more popular", but then I saw a post from the director (he was blogging about music marketing) saying that they paid for a Youtube ad for that one. A lot of the comments from the period when it was running as an ad are just variations of "I came from an ad, but this is cool" or things like "This is the first time I've watched an ad to the end" in Japanese, so I wonder sometimes if it's even actual people posting or if Youtube has just set up generic automated responses from fake accounts so people feel like they're getting their money's worth when they pay for ads...

Lol, that's cute. He and Shian were funny together, so it's kind of a shame that he left so quick.
-
Whoever is filming these live videos for them should really just zoom in a bit. They sound good, but that small, dead crowd is a bit of a downer.

I've never listened to Jupiter, so I thought I'd give them a shot and checked out the video. Do they always spend that much of their videos staring dead-eyed into the distance and acting like the other members don't exist? That video is stiff and boring even by VK standards.
-
Took a few listens to get any sort of impression of the song to stick in my memory, but that singer is bringing it. Going to keep an eye on them.

I'm reading the manga series "Kamisama no iu toori", and it's kind of amazing. It's like Gantz, only instead of using cool guns and suits they survive by methods like throwing magic beans at the monsters, summoning the spirits of their dead grandmothers to beat them up, having homoerotic stargazing fantasies and playing rock paper scissors. Also Neil Gaiman's "Anansi Boys". I put off reading it because I couldn't deal with the main character being named "Fat Charlie", but I finally decided to give it a shot last week and it's been a fun read. I didn't realize it had such a comedic tone.

Sharaku looks super cute.

Oh thanks, I'm getting too spoiled by all the embedded videos on this forum. Skimmed right over that link.

Man, seek and Aya must get along absurdly well. As much as I love PLC, I never really got into MSI, but I'm curious to see what this project will sound like.

A year later, and I finally trained my budgie to fly to me. I feel like that's probably longer than it should have taken, and she won't fly in certain directions or further than about 4-5 feet at this point, but I'm still proud.
