Ah don't worry, no offense taken, glad to get any feedback at all!

Since you showed some interest in the project, I guess I can at least tell you a thought or two on the whole thing so you get some insight on what we are trying to achieve. The band is still in a very early stage and we haven't really settled on a proper style yet, so to be honest, none of us is completely happy with our visual material yet - it's always hard to pull off the visual image as a non-asian band because of all the negative stigma surrounding it, but we will see what we can do in the future when it comes to that.
As for the sound itself, I just recently joined the band, they had a female vocalist before me, so for the vocals I've been in a weird spot where I either had to record in her range (which is okay, but slightly above the range where I feel most comfortable) or in the lower octave, which sounds somewhat boring most of the time. Our next release will be tailored to my vocals, so I hope I can change your mind if you care to check it out then We will definitely try to improve and redefine our sound and image, so thanks for your input!

Also, the last statement honestly made me smile a bit, so I take it as a compliment haha

Dark City is one of the best sci-fi, or just neo-noir flicks ever. One of the few films that's been able to give me much of the same feeling as I get when watching Metropolis.

Very nice. Gallows Gallery are by far the best heavy/power metal album ever, and easily the most underrated metal album ever. Such a unique and catchy album.

Upgrade - I wasn't quite sure if I wanted to post this in this thread, or the regular film thread. But I ended up here because at its core this is pure body horror, even though it's not quite as horror-esque as body horror tends to be. Upgrade is Leigh Whannell's second film as a director, and his thousand movie as a writer. His first attempt at directing was the very, very disappointing Insidious: Chapter 3. This however is on a whole new level than that. Not only is it a lot better than Insidious: Chapter 3, it's the film of the year so far.

Upgrade is a low-budget genre film, a pulpy revenge flick. Part sci-fi, part action, part camp and fully body horror. Part Robocop, part The Crow, part Death Wish and part Hardware. It is something as rare as a high-tech grindhouse film. Upgrade tells a familiar story of revenge, but the way it is done is just top notch. The visual style is cool as fuck, the campy dialogue is really nice and the actors are all amazing. Logan Marshall-Green truly shines here. Delivers the superbly choreographed action scenes as well as he delivers the off-beat comedy, and he really shines throughout. So does Harrison Gilbertson as a genius tech-bro and millionaire with one of the most empty-looking eyes I've ever seen. He is truly creepy.

    Highly recommended.

Not really sure about what you're looking for, and I don't really listen to rap metal so I can't help you there. But I do listen to a lot of rap that is dark or brutal, and are quite popular among metal fans.

Scarlxrd is pretty fucking metallic and way, way, way more brutal and metallic sounding than any "rap metal" act out there. Brutal beats, screaming and all kind of shit going on. But it's not your regular wimpy rap metal shit. You won't find those wimpy, half-groovy riffs or anything.

Death Grips is also very metallic sounding, albeit not metal. Experimental and brutal rap, but without the wimpy side.

Bones and Suicideboys just because they're dark as fuck.

Run DMC are a must for fans of rap and rock. The perfect combination.

A mixtape put together by Joel Grind of Toxic Holocaust fame. Dark and twisted Mephis rap.

Stuff like Necro, Circle of Tyrants, Heavy Metal Kings, Jedi Mind Tricks and related bands might also be of interest. Again, not rap metal or anything tho.

And this might be of interest. Not exactly metal, but got a lot in common with some of the rap metal bands of the past.

Just attended the 10th incarnation of Inner Awakening Festival here in Budapest, 100% underground black metal mayhem over two nights as expected.

Some thoughts on the participating bands:

    Day 1
Goatcraft (Slovakia) - Started off things nicely, nothing remarkable but solid black metal with a nice atmosphere.
Lepra (Hungary) - Total crushing darkness as they always do. One of the best and most recognizable Hungarian BM bands currently imo.
Kaosophia (Ukraine) - These guys were the highlights for me on the first night. Highly atmospheric, and catchy yet technical stuff. Impressive!
Inferno (Czech Republic) - I wasn't feeling it. The weak sound (after what seemed to be the longest soundcheck of all time) ruined it most of all.
I left halfway through Inferno's set cuz I was really tired and sleepy, so I couldn't see Mortuus (Sweden) but heard they were good.

    Day 2
Niedergang (Hungary) - Great start. Excellent guitarplay with equal amounts of moody and thrashy, a bit of a mid-90s throwback vibe.
Dunkelheit (Hungary) - Holy moly, this was the loudest gig at the whole fest probably, lol. Stylistically they were similar to Niedergang, so pretty solid.
До Скону / Do Skonu (Ukraine) - These guys had more of a death metal sound. Would've been a nice refreshment if they weren't so utterly boring. Meh.
Head of The Demon (Sweden) - YES. YESSS. YEEESSS!!! I came just for this band and they killed us all. They were very different from the rest of the lineup, dare I say not even 'pure' black metal (but certainly with BM elements). It's like someone traveled back in time to give a group of occult magicians a Black Sabbath and a Neurosis record to write ritualistic demon-conjuring music. Had a really trippy, airy and esoteric doom vibe. Great stage presence too, not something I'd say for most of the other bands, heh.
After HOTD there was still Hell Militia (France) left  but I had to go before they took the stage cuz I had early-shift work today, mehhh.

All in all, a really cool time. Only negative thing was the unpredictable lengths of the soundchecks (two years ago they managed to solve it really punctually, so I thought everything would go according to schedule now too), but it was tolerable still. Can't wait for them to announce next year's lineup!

That cover art is godawful. Looks like something a third grader could've designed if he got a chance.

Sounds alright, but the song doesn't quite reach the heights of the singles/previews we got from the two previous albums. Not even close. That's disappointing.

I like this track a lot. In fact, I fucking dig it. Sounds good, and the ending with the kids give me the chills. Nice and interesting video too. Really like their recent videos and aesthetics.

Dear god, I am so happy these guys left the boring, sterile and überpolished death metal of Demigod, The Apostasy and Evangelion behind and went for a more black metal approach with The Satanist. This too sounds a lot darker, dynamic,, creative, complex and interesting than anything on Demigod, The Apostasy and Evangelion.

What a song and what a video. The song, the sexy-af-saxophone by none other than sax-god himself, Tim Cappello, the video. 6/6/6/

That ending has to be among the best parts I've ever seen in a music video. Been watching this on repeat all morning.

Thought the new Craft was a huge step up from Void, but still not nearly good enough IMO. I'll always end up going back to the two first albums and the demo and I'll never revisit the later stuff.

I do however agree about the new Marduk. I think Werewolf is a really cool song and I was hoping they would go for a more punky and rockish sound this time around as they really nailed it on Werewolf, but the rest is just rehash of older Marduk tracks. It's not bad, but there's something like 10 Marduk albums I'll play through before bothering with this.

Part of Laibach's discography can surely be counted as martial industrial, though I'll admit I am not too experienced with the genre. But if not proper martial industrial, they're surely to martial industrial what Venom and Mercyful Fate is to black metal.

Anyway Laibach rules. Spectre gotta be my favourite with tracks such as The Whistleblowers and Bossanova as my favourites. But these count more as electro-industrial I guess. Anyway, awesome band and super-superb live band.

Neofolk, martial industrial and the other off-shots/sub-genres are music I've enjoyed for quite a few years, but it's only over the past two-three years that I've really gone into the depth of the genre that is neofolk and its sub-genres and gotten very much into full albums, rather than a song here and a song there like before. It's a genre which has spawned so many bands over the years and like all genres that are "easy" to make, record and release, it's filled with a ton of godawful bands.  But you also got stuff like Darkwood, Sol Invictus, Blood Axis, Death in June, Current 93, Nature And Organisation, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio and so on that's released a shitload of good music. A genre I've really come to appreciate as I've grown older.

A few catchy tracks to get you new lot into these beautiful genres.

I know there's at least a few others who are into this type of music here, so please discuss.

The fans, lack of proper vinyl releases and the fact that I think the vast majority of bands fucking suck annoys me the most. Have to check out 50 new bands to find a mediocre one, and 100 to find a good one.
