  1. This will get a repress, for those interested. Not sure why, but maybe at the end of the year or so. The black version is already up on Ebay. 200 USD. It's fucking pathetic really. People that buy music just to profit heavily on it are clowns and deserves to have their ass beaten.
  2. Yeah, I found a couple of good pictures after some more searching. That's so fucking badass! I love how these fucking rockstars love horror. Kirk Hammet are also running around playing on badass guitars with artworks from Universal Monsters flicks such as The Mummy, The Bride of Frankenstein and so on. It's just too badass.
  3. You don't happen do have any pictures of the whole scene, do you? Looks badass, bu I can't seem to find any good pictures of the whole scene with all that drops.

Some of my favourites: Isshi (Kagrra) While not close to being a fantastic vocalist, or a very good singer n a technical level, but I just love the soothing softness and tenderness in his voice. And what he lacked in quality, he gained with the emotion in his voice. And he did fit the band perfectly. Never over the top, never the talking point of the band, but always delicious, with some very smooth vocal lines. Gara (Merry) I always loved his dramatic vocals. I have no problem seeing why so many find him to be a bit annoying, but I love him. A bit ove the top at times, but I don't mind that at all. Satsuki (Rentrer en Soi) He's not the best screamer in the world, but he's got a beautiful voice. Tatsurou (1999-2003/4) (Mucc) Very over the top, dramatic and theatrical vocals. To be honest he sounds pretty fucked up and shitty during these years, but it certianly did fit the music. It's a shame he started to suck so very, very much after these years.

If you like one you'e almost certain to like the other. In Bruges is a bit more serious, darker and less over the top, but it nails almost everything pitch perfect to be honest. It's a modern classic. 9/10
  6. Great album indeed, and the music video is awesome. My vinyl's been sent, so I expect it to be here soon enough. Can't wait for that sexy bastard to arrive. And Timecop1983 is also great. Chill as fuck. Great summer music.

I thought Seven Psychopaths was fantastic. Not as good as In Bruges by the same man, Martin McDonagh, but very good. Both Martin, and his brother, John Michael, are two of the more promising directors out there in 2014. Really looking forward to John Michael's Calvary which comes this year, and he's got several projects running as well, and I am really hoping for The Bonnot Gang to be his next thing. He once described it as a a cross between The Wild Bunch and Le Samourai. Jesus, that sounds good. But I wouldn't mind War on Everyone either, a crime film I think. These two men, man. Argh, yes!

Mr. Vampire - After watching the fantastic Rigor Mortis I decided it was about time I watched as many Mr. Vampire films as I could find, as I never got around to watch more than the first (or two first). Despite Encounters of the Spooky Kind status as a cult classic, Mr. Vampire is the film that popularized the jiangshi-genre in the mid 80's. It's a very nice mixture of atmospheric horror, awesome kung-fu and hilarious comedy, and despite this mix it never feels forced or anything like that. Another thing that makes this such a pleasure for us westernes is how unique it is, relying upon Chinese folklore which makes the monsters in these films look both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. Mr. Vampire is a true classic and must-see for anyone who conceder themself a horror, kung-fu or comedy fan. This is how good this film is. Kill, Baby... Kill - This Mario Bava classic is often regarded his best, and whie I do disagree with that, it's a close to perfect film for sure. Great, atmospheric gothic horror with more or less everything a gothic horror film should have. Brilliant cinematography, great setting, fantastic plot and great acting. This is, hands down, just another proof that Mario Bava should be ranked up there with the best of the best directors ever.

I thought it was a brilliant ending to yet another great season. Game of Thrones are climbing up the list of best TV-series ever and it doesn't look like it's about to stop just yet. The only thing that bothered me was the CGI skeletons. They looked awful, their movement was awesome and it lacked punch, power and brutality. It was so cheap. They should've just gone for another solution. Either stop-motion animation or real people in cool clothes. I'd rather have seen something like this:
  10. I didn't get much old school VK feeling from the preview, but Oni to kage sounds like someone took a bunch of late 90's-early 00's VK songs and wrapped a modern production around them. The preview sounds alright. They look like shit, though.

Nice, sounds good. Gotta watch it soon enough! The Detective - I thought I recognized the cover for this film, but I was a bit unsure, and I didn't remember the title (and had given it no score in IMDB). But a minute into the film I realised that I had seen it before. I own it, but under the Finnish title, The Photo, and the cover is a bit different too. But damn, what a film this is. The Detective i a dark, gritty noir-thriler with an exciting plot and great acting, especially from Aaron Kwok. It kinda reminds me of films like Memories of Murder, Se7en and Blood Simple, though not as good as any of these. The ending is a bit to clearing, though. It just tells us way too much, as if we're stupid or something. But other than that it's damn good. The Pill - Mediocre romantic comedy that fails because of its poor, unlikeable characters. It's hilarious at times, and charming other times, but there's always these shitty characters around. A cheater, and liar and a bitch. That's the three main characters. That's the main problem with the film. Shame, but a good start anyway. Rigor Mortis - Rigor Mortis is the debut film of Juno Mak, and a really impressive one as well. The film is a homage to the jiangshi-genre, and especially Mr. Vampire, that took Hong Kong by storm in the 80's. The jiangshi genre is a mixture of horror, kung fu and comedy, and even though this film lacks the humor, you can stell feel the classic jiangshi in it, and it has several actors from mr. Vampire. But this isn't a copy of the more known films of the genre or anything like that. This feels unique. Rigor Mortis is a unique film with great acting, a good plot and visuals. It uses lots of CGI, but in a very good way. And they turn it into their advantage, unlike most films that relies heavily on CGI. Rigor Mortis is, with no doubt whatsoever, one of the best films from 2013. Superb! The Red Shoes - A nice, little adation of Hans Christian Andersens's The Red Shoes. 27 minutes long, and the style used is fantastic. Enjoyable stuff.

You talkin' to me, boy? I don't mind that, though. What I mind are awful attempts at covering up your teensy soap dramas with horror themes. But I like fantasy, mystery, gothic and so on. However, it's written by John Logan so it should be something good. Guy knows what he's doing. But this: Boss: "So guys, what do we have here?" ... Boss: "You don't know? Well, let me tell you." All: "Ok!" Boss: "What we have here is just another teen drama obviouslyaimed at girls. There's nothing here that stands out. Do you know what we're gonna do?" All: "No!" "We're gonna put in some vampires and werewolf and make it into a romantic horror-drama. Original, and both girls and horror fans will love it!" All: "Oooooh, boss! You're so smart! That's genius!" And so it goes. Eeeew! I just want something aimed towards a bit more grown up people. Someone above 15, and also not only towards girls.

Uhm, that's a hard one. I guess my top 10 would look something like this: 1. The Wire 2. True Detective 3. Les Vampires 4. Fantomas 5. The Singing Detective 6. The Sopranos 7. Miami Vice 8. Game of Thrones 9. Band of Brothers 10. MacGyver Lots of mandatory series I have yet to watch, as well as series I haven't watched since I was a kid and so on. Aso, I decided to exclude all animated series. And yeah, it's something like that.

No, I actually enjoyed the first two-three seasons, but it's not a very good series and they don't put much effort into the horror of the series. The similarity between the series I mentioned is that none of them are horror at the heart, not even close. Three of them are just regular dramas that happens to have a horror theme, obviously aimed at (teenage) girls, while True Blood is a romantic fantasy-comedy that just happen to deal with vampires and werewolfs. It was fun for what it is - a lighthearted, over the top and silly fantasy show, but there's not much of a horror series at all. Out of newer horror series, the only ones I'd rewatch is Masters of Horror and Dead Set as I can remember right now. Masters of Horror was an anthology series ranging from pathetic to amazing, but most of them were on the good side for sure. Dead Set was satirical mixture of horror and drama. So yeah, I haven't been too impressed. Though, I have a lot of series on my watchlist, both newer ones and older ones.

I haven't watched it yet, but I do have it on my watchlist and I will watch it. But to be quite honest I don't have any big expectations. I expect more teen/girl-drama in the vein of Hemlock Grove, True Blood, Dracula, Vampire Diaries and so on. I hope I am wrong, though. The world badly need some good horror shows.

Haven't seen all that many to be honest: Sigh x 2 Sabbat Boris Church of Misery x 2 or 3 Gallhammer I think that's it actually. Not many at all. Churh of Misery live on a small boat with great weather was by far the best experience, even though I had seen the band better before. But the whole thing was just pure magic.

Not films, but I've started watching two series: The Twilight Zone 11-12 episodes in and the horror is lacking (even though I know there will come several episodes). So far it's been psychological sci-fi/thriller/fantasy. I'm really enjoying the series so far, though. The Munsters The Munsters is a lighthearted sitcom with a horrortheme. The show was running at the same time as The Addams Family (both got two seasons from 64-66), but lacks the black comedy of The Addams Family. I'm really enjoying this series for what it is, much due to its horror themes. The mom is a vampire, the dad is similar to Frankenstein's monster, Grandpa/The Count/Sam Dracula is a vampire, the youngest kid is an werewolf and their niese is a regular human being. From what I've seen I prefer The Addams Family for being darker, but I'm enjoying this as I said. Al Lewis is fantastic as the sarcastic Grandpa. He's really impressive!
  18. I have't watched this myself, but my girlfriend is watching so I end up watching an episode now and then. My impression is that this is Oz made into a soap opera aimed at girls. Don't take that the wrong way though. Soap opera doesn't equal bad, even if a lot of idiots who doesn't know shit about TV seems to think so. Some of the characters comes off as very likeable, their development seems to be good and it seems a solid show overall to be honest. It's not my cup of tea, though.

He also added this: Well, actually this is not a real dirty laundry. The real one is way too dirty to be aired. So there's obviously more to this than we know. I get the impression we're talking about either illness or heavy alcohol/drug abuse, or something like that. But to be honest, I don't ge tthe impression Mirai is too concerned about this so it might be some bad blood between them. Anyway, I'm not gonna put much into this as I don't know anything other than what Mirai have said, which isn't much at all. I hope it doesn't go too long before he get himself a new band, though. Huge loss for the metal scene until we hear from him again.

Some updates: Must have been a lot more to this. A guitarist doesn't suddenly forget how to tune his guitar after playing for 25 years. He's either got some serious problems, or we're not exactly getting the truth. Shame anyway, as You Oshima isn't even worthy of cleaning Shinichi's shoes. No offence to You, but really. Shinichi is the Hideki Ishima of black metal, while You Oshima is the Jeff Loomis or something, with a shitload of others. He's just not a unique guitarist.

I'll post it here too: Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy - Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy is a four hour long documentary about everything that has to do with the A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, and a bit about how New Line Cinema got so big. This movie serves you good, interesting and very entertainting interview with people such as Wes Craven, Robert Englund, Heather Langenkamp, Robert Shaye, John Saxon, Alice Cooper and Dokken among others, as well as lots of other info about scripts and ideas that was never used, the special effects and much more. Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy is a fantastic documentary that's sniffing on a 10/10. Four hours of pure gold, and a must-see for every fan of A Nightmare on Elm Street, be it just the first film, several of the films or all of them. Pure gold!

Didn't they talk bout LittleBigPlanet 3? Why is no oen talking about that? LittleBigPlanet was a breath of fresh air when it came, and a fantastic game. LittleBigPlanet 2 was an instant classic and one of the very, very few 10/10 games after 1995, and from what I heard LittleBigPanet 3 looks like it may top the second installment in the series. From what I was told it seemed like they were staying true to the LBP universe, yet managed to move on, just like they did with the second game. LittleBigPlanet is one of those games that's always a hit. Alone both on single and multiplayer, with your brother, with your gilfriend, with a bunch of guys, and probably with your son/daughter. Brilliant games!

Danger: Diabolik - Fantastic, over the top and very stylish live-action film based on the Italian comic Diabolik. Danger: Diabolik is a nice mixture of action, thriller and eurospy and feels like a mix of Fantomas, James Bond and 60's Batman with a twist of psychedelia. Mario Bava, the director of Danger: Diabolik, is most known for his extremely stylish, atmospheric and fantastic horror and giallo films, even though he's made other things as well. This is obviously one of those, and he excecute is perfectly. The strongest point of the film is its visuals, but everything is top notch. It's surreal and it's psychedelic. It's a misunderstood film, as Bava & co expected people outside of Italy to be known with Diabolik. They weren't, and they just didn't get the film. Shame really. Bava was used to small budgets where he really had to put his talents into the tilm making, but for this film he got $3m. What did he do? He stayed true to his beliefs and used only $400k. Genius! Fun fact 1: Fantomex from X-Men is based off Diabolik and Fantomas. Fantomex' suit is a white version of Diabolik's. Fantomex' boat is called E.V.A., Diabolik's lover is a girl named Eva. Fantomex' real name is Jean-Phillipe, a refrence to John Phillip Law, the man who played Diabolik in Danger: Diabolik. (and Fantomex' name is obviously inspired by Fantomas) Fun fact 2: Mike Patton found two names he wanted to call his band, Fantomas and Diabolik. He went for Fantomas as we know, but that's awesome. The Dark - Awful horrorfilm with very little of quality to it. The setting is nice and the house on the other side is good, but that's it. The rest of the film feels like the writer woke up one night and just wrote down what he could remember from the last five horror films he saw, and wrote a script based on that. Awful!

Dead of Night - I finally rewatched this anthology-film and it's still great. The film consists of five short stories and a linking narrative, and they're all great. The golf story was a lot better than I remembered. Silly, yes, but it's such a fine contrast to the other stories. Great film with a fine atmosphere. 30 Days of Night - Amazing vampire horror with a brilliant setting, awesome vampires and great special effects. There's not much more to say about this. One of the better vampire films in modern time. Would You Rather - Decent low budget horror in the vein of Saw. Not a copy of Saw, but still has a lot of similarities. Sasha Grey is an AWFUL actor, but Jeffrey Combs just makes up for it. He's amazing! But the film should have been even more over the top and fucked up to be honest. But I was entertained. Decent stuff. The Seventh Victim - Another horror film I rewatched. 70 years after and it's still unique. The Seventh Victim is a very dark mixture of horror and film-noir, and a film that was many, many, many years ahead of its time. The sets are amazing, much thanks to the use of darkness and shadows. The cast is great, and it's just such a grim, eerie and atmospheric film. Iron Monkey - I decided to rewatch this too. Fantastic martial arts film with Donnie Yen and Rongguang Yu. The fights are brilliantly coreographed and the wire-work is amazing. Fucking King Kong palm, man. Brutal stuff. A must-see for fans of martial arts fantasy films. On the Job - Very good filopino crime-thriller with a clever story and great action scenes. Amazing acting as well. It should've beena bit longer though, because I think the characters should've been further developed. But it was good anyway. Pontypool - Smart and witty virus-horror with a fantastic Stephen McHattie in the lead role. He was damn impressive here. The plot might be a tad to silly for some, but I liked it a lot. Good film!
