Captain America: The Winter Soldier - I was really surprised by The First Avenger which I, to my big surprise may I add, really liked. So my expectations were fairly high for this one, and I really, really liked this. Everything was turned up a notch from the first one. The story and plot is better, the characters feels a bit more complete here, the cast is fairly good, the villains are much more interesting and the special effects and action scenes looks ten times as good. While some of the special effects are rather poor, and some fights are way too shaky, zoomed and cut to pieces, others are actually really good and pwerful. The film's got somewhat an old school vibe to it, without trying to be old school, and the plot is way more interesting than in most other super hero flicks. And don't get me wrong, this isn't some deep film with lots to dig into, at least not in my eyes. It's a popcorn film, but a very, very good popcorn film and miles better than the second best film set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's a thrilling thriller, and not just a super hero action flick. I am also not known for being a big fan of Scarlett Johansson, but she delivered the goods here. Was very good. Nightcrawler - I finally got to see this one, and what a god damn brilliant film it was. The plot is thrilling, suspenseful and engaging, the characters are despiseable but good and Jake Gyllenhaal gives us the best performance of his career till now. What a breathtaking performance that is. The attitude Jake brings to the screen makes his character, the sociopath Louis Bloom, to one of the most memorable characters of the 2000's as far as I am concerned, and if you're not impressed by this I doubt there's anything in the world of cinema that'll impress you. The overall tone of the film is dark and gritty, but it's still very funny at times and it's visually stunning and it'll keep you on the edge througout the entire film. But Jake Gyllenhaal i the best part of this film. Amazing! Anyway, my expectations were sky high and I am so happy this film lived up to those. I am not disappointed at all. Nothing short of brilliant! I'll also add that Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) and Macon Blair (Blue Ruin) should have had the Oscars for best male in 2014 and 2013. No kidding. The fact that neither was even nomitated shows how much of a jooke the Oscars is. Fuck 'em all!

My girlfriend watched it so I watched an episode here and an episode there. Pretty funny, but every episode I saw had some disgusting morale thrown in at the end. But aside from that it was fairly decent to my big surprise.

What a fucking success this was. Easily some of the best food I've ever had. It's spicy, but not so spicy that it gets uncomfortable and gives you problem enjoying all the other flavours in the food. Brilliant, and so god damn easy as well. Why I am working with children and not in a top notch, 3 michelin star-rated resturant is beyond me. I'm fucking brilliant as a chef and as a baker as well.

Crazy Lips - Crazy indeed. This was something quite unique and special, and something unlike everything I've ever seen before. It's a blend of horror, comedy and action, and it's just so bisarre and absurd. I still have no idea what I watched. A huge WHAT THE FUCK! A family is "cursed" by bad blood with both the father and brother in the family being awful humans, or so the general public thinks, so one of the two daughters goes to a psychic chick to get some help. The psychic agrees to help it, and it begins. The ceremony begins, and her boob squeezin' obsessed side-kick starts raping "everybody". One of the rape-scenes is so far out there. It's like taken straight from some absurd hentai or something. And it just gets weirder and weirder with every turn and twist. Is it really a horror film? Well, not really. But it still is. And is it a good film? No-way, but I was entertained anyway.

I've made a shitload of chili con carne for the weekend today and I just had a taste together with a beer. Oh my fucking god. Bloody delicious.

Hands down the best actor ever (well, along with Boris Karloff). A fantastic singer, an even better actor and on top of that an even better person. Simply my all-time favourite film persona along with Boris Karloff. Absolutely unique in every way imaginable. A man who cannot get enough praise. Is there any other actor who've had as many memorable roles as this man? Nah, not even the great Boris Karloff did. All hail!

I must apologize. I mistook Monochrome Heaven for a discussions forum where people were allowed to discuss everything from music to films to art and to dildos, and where people were allowed to state their own opinions and share them with everybody. I will obviously not do something as stupid as this again. God forbid if people dared to state their opinions around here if they disagreed with something. What an awful thought.

What? How on earth is Fury Road a better film than The Road Warrior? Or hell, even Mad Max? Not even close, browski. Esecially The Road Warrior is miles ahead of Fury Road. OSS 117: Lost in Rio . This sequel folows the first one in tone, humour and excitement, and the sets, the costumes and the way it's shot is just beautiful. I think they really nail the 60's with it. Jean Dujardin is as amazing as he is in the first film as the sexist and racist agent OSS 117. He doesn't mean anything bad with it, he just doesn't know how to express himself otherwise. And it makes for good fun for me as a watcher. So the quality of the film is close to the first, but it doesn't feel as fresh as it did, which is its main problem. Louise Monot is really impressive in this film as well. She does a great job.

I spent half my work day building a badass miniature train rail with a kid while listening to good music. A good way to earn money.

I think that has to do with the fact that she's got no control over them. If she stayed and tried to save them, they, or other innocent people, would easily have been hurt by the dragon. That's how I see it at least. I don't get this hate for Stannis. He's grown on me with each season, and in yesterday's episode he got up with the big names of the series for me. He's such a dedicated and decisive man. I fucking love him.

I didn't like him in The Walking Dead at all, but I blame the script and his character for that and I am ready to give him a new chance. I love the character The Punisher, though. Easily Top 3 mst badass characters in the superhero world. This fanmade The Punisher video is highly recommended. Showcases his badassness in a perfect way. I also think The Punisher (1989) is god damn brilliant. Fucking Dolph, man! Well, and I like both the 2004 and 2008 films. Not because they are very good, but because they have a sense of badassness over them that I really enjoy.

Jon Bernthal will play The Punisher in Daredevil season 2. That's gonna be cool. The punisher, man. What an ultrabadass man!

True Survivor is the best track of the year so far. Brilliant!

Yes. Been listening to it non-stop since it was released a month ago, and I still aren't tired of it. Always a quality sign.

Episode 14, Yellow - Robert Zemeckis (Back From the Future I-III, Forest Gump), who previously directed my favourite Tales From the Crypt episode And All Through the House, returns with another instant classic in this series. This episode is different than most of the episodes as it is not a single touch of horror to be found here. This isn't supernatural, thrilling or anything like that. It's got more blood and gore than most other episodes, but it's a war-drama with a hint of comedy. It's alsothe longest episode till now, closing in on 40 minutes, 10 more minutes than the second longest episode of the show. But don't worry, this doesn't feel any longer, and it's almost as good as the best ones. A really good ending to the season. Also, both father Kirk and son Eric Douglas does really well here. Superb!

Uwe Boll is a personal hero of mine. A mad genius.

OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies - A nice little Eurospy spoof that lies somewhere inbetween James Bond and Austin Powers. Think James Bond meets The Pink Panther meets The Man with the Naked Gun. Everything about this film, from the way it is shot to the way it looks, sounds and feels are authentic 60's James Bond. The film is directed by Michel Hazanavicius (The Artist), and stars both Jean Dujardin and Bérénice Bejo, also known from The Artist, and all does a great job. It's fun, it's exciting and it's really good. By the way, it should be said that this film is based on Jean Bruce's character OSS 117. Jean Bruce wrote 88 novels about OSS 117, and he even predated Ian Fleming's James Bond 007 by four years, so the character itself isn't a James Bond rip off or anything, and the first film was made all the way back in 1957. This film, and its sequel, are parodies and homages to the original OSS 117-series, old James Bond films and Eurospy films in general. I can't wait to watch the sequel. Should be much fun! Hot Girls Wanted - A documentary about the amatour/internet porn industries. I thought it was pretty poor to be quite honest. It doesn't shine a single light on anything unfamiliar, and throughout the documentary I never managed to find out where the directors actually wanted to go with it. The overall tone is very changing throughout the film. But the main problem with this documentary, for me at least, is that it doesn't aim for the proper negative sides of the industry, the exploitation and abuse. What it does is that it follows some girls who's bored of their everyday boring lives and want to make some quick cash, then go to this young agent they meet on the internet, live there for half a year and decids it's not for them. These girls aren't forced into the business in any way possible. They want do make it big, live in glamour and have a good time. When it doesn't work out the way they wanted and imagined, they go home to their mamas and cry out like bitches. It follows a bunch of fools, and as you know, I've got no sympathy for fools. There's some many negative sides about the porn industry and someone decides to make a 85 minute long documentary about this shit. Fuck off!

The Victim - Another great martial arts comedy by Sammo Hung, who also stars along with Bryan "Beardy" Leung. It's got your typical Sammo Hung humour thrown in, as well as insane martial arts scenes. The story is great, the characters are cool and interesting and, again, the martial arts scenes are insane. There's especially the last fight which is crazy good. It's so intense and brutal. I find it interesting how Bryan Leung, who is such a good and technical fighter, can have no formal martial arts training. It's just copying his action directors moves, which is cool. Very talented guy! Anyway, top, top film!

Hammer: The Studio That Dripped Blood! Another nice documentary about Hammer, focusing on the Hammer Horror films. It's only an hour long and features much of what was featured in Flesh and Blood: The Hammer Heritage of Horror, but it doesn't focus as much on individual films as Flesh and Blood: The Hammer Heritage of Horror. Some great interviews with Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee, as well as others of course. Totally recommended for Hammer Horror fans.

Episode 10, Mournin' Mess - First off, what a cool title! Second off, what a super episode! It's got atmosphere, it's got creepyness, it's got humour. I really thought this episode was one of the many highlights so far in the series. 9/10 Episode 11, Split Second - Another really good episode, this time directed by Russell Mulcahy, best known for his two Highlander films. The episode stars a good and super sexy Michelle Johnson, as well as a fantastic Brion James. Brion James' performance is really over the top, and overacting is a decent enough word to use about his performance, but it just makes everything hella lot funnier. The ending is predictable, but absolutely brilliant! 9/10 Episode 12, Deadline - A nice episode, but it lacks a bit of everything. It's not very funny, it's not gory, it's not atmosheric. Just a bit inbetween all these things. It's not bad, but it could've been a lot more better. Marg Helgenberger is stunning here, and the sets looks really nice. A bit gritty and depressing. But it's one of the worst episodes so far, still enjoyable though. 6/10 Episode 13, Spoiled - This one was really nice, but I was a bit let down from the ending. The overall feeling of this episode is very different for the series. It's soapy, from the way it's shot to the way it's acted and written. It's really good up until the ending which is a bit lackluster. It simply doesn't look very good. They should've gone for something gorier and/or crazier. But everything else was top notch. Faye Grant and Anita Morris, though. Mmmmm. 8/10

Season 3's been a pain in the ass so far. Not very good at all. Other than Alison's story there's been nothing to cheer about so far. They have no idea what they are doing. It's so obvious they don't have a prober plan for the series development.

Yeah, you should. Proper good bands those. All are highly recommended. Also when thinking about it, I'd have Voivod further down. All the way down on 10th to be honest. I used to like Isvind's "back in the days", but I can't really recall the last time I heard it. It's been years as far as I know, or else it just didn't leave any impact on me the last time I heard it.

Damn, been having a massive canadian thrash/speed metal kick lately. This is a scene that's always been overlooked, but I don't get why. It's not any worse than the american or german scene IMO. So many great albums. My top 10 Canadian thrash/speed metal albums: 1. Infernäl Mäjesty - None Shall Defy I have written about this album many, many times on this forum, and I will keep on mentioning it because it's one of the finest thrash metal albums ever. It's borderline death metal at times and it's dark and evil sounding. A must if you're into early Slayer, Hobbs' Angel of Death, Possessed and more. 2. Razor - Evil Invaders Razor, a band that is just as known for their ridiculous coverart as their music, but fuck the haters, both Executioner's Song and Evil Invaders have top notch artwork. Anyway, the band started out as a speed metal-influenced band, but already on their second album, Evil Invaders, they had moved much closer to the thrash metal of Slayer, Sacrifice and Dark Angel, despite being released just months after their debut album. Evil Invaders is an ridiculously catchy thrash/speed metal album. 3. Slaughter - Strappado Death/thrash with one of the coolest productions ever. to me, this is death metal, just like Possessed and early Death. Mentioning Death, Chuck Schuldiner of Death was in the band for a short period of time in 86, and they've released a rehearsal with him. Anyway, raw, brutal death/thrash that should please fans of old Death, Possessed, Hellhammer and Celtic Frost. 4. Exciter - Violence & Force This band named themself after Judas Priest's proto-speed metal anthem "Exciter", and is considered one of the first speed metal bands. At the time they released their debut they were considered one of the fastest and heaviest metal bands up until then, and they didn't exactly cool down for their follow-up either. This IS speed metal. This sums up everything that speed metal is. Essential! 5. Voivod - War and Pain "Everyone" knows Voivod, but not everyone knows their first two albums. The band would go in a more progressive direction with each album, but their two first albums, and especially the debut, is a punky thrash metal album with more attitude than they would ever show again. Most people consider the more progressive Killing Technology and Dimension Hatrösstheir masterpiece(s), but I consider the two first, and especially the debut, to be their best. 6. Voor - Evil Metal Another death/thrash masterpiece, but unlike the other bands in this list, these guys never got as far as releasing an album... or an EP... or a single. Two demos in 85 is all they got to release until almost 30 years later when they reformed and released a new EP. Anyway, both demos are collected on the 2010 compilation Evil Metal and it's worth getting i you're into first wave death metal. Think Venom goes death metal. Top notch! 7. Sacrifice - Forward to Termination Fast, brutal thrash metal in the vein of early Slayer or Dark Angel. Pretty brutal for being thrash metal and not bordeline death metal or anything. A must! 8. Razor - Custom Killing As weird as it might sound, this is an album I've recently started listening to, despite being more than familiar with the band. Razor's been known for makign shorter, fast and furious songs, but Curstom Killing is Razor gone prog. It's pretty boldy for a thrash metal band to kick off both the A and B side with 11 minute long songs. It's more epic and way darker than their other albums. This album is Razor's black sheep of the familiy, but I don't get why because this album is amazing. Do not stay away! This will most likely move up on my list as I let it grow on me in the future. Just need some more time to grow. Anyway, it's amazing after 10-15 rounds. 9. Annihilator - Alice in Hell Fantastic, technical speed/thrash metal. Think a mix of early Megadeth and Testament, just way better and more exciting than both. It's more to dive into and more to grab a hold on. Neither of the two mentioned bands would even dare dream of making something as bold and cool as this. The attitude, man. Jeff Waters' riffage combined with Randy Rampage brilliant vocal delivery makes this one of the best prog metal albums of all time. 10. Infernäl Mäjesty -Unhoulier than Thou While the production is a bit off for this album, I never understood the negativity towards this masterpiece. Dark, mean thrash metal with more attitude than your mom. Underrated as fuck! It's very even, though. I could easily have swapped some of these albums for Sacrifice's "Torment in Fire" or "Soldiers of Misfortune", Infernäl Mäjesty's "Unhoulier Than Thou", Voivod's "Rrröööaaarrr", Razor's "Executioner's Song", Exciter's "Heavy Metal Maniac" or Soothsayer - Have a Good Time. Hell, maybe even , Agression's "The Full Treatment", Dissection's "Final Genocide" or Overthrow's "Within Suffering". So many great bands and albums.

Finished Derek, season 1 last night, and I must admit I am beyond impressed. A warm, sad and heartwarming, yet at time hilarious, drama-comedy by and with Ricky Gervais, and on his team he' got Karl Pilkington, David Earl and Kerry Godliman. Derek is an autist (or, that's how I see it at least), so he's got his to deal with, but through him Ricky Gervais is capable of showing different human qualities, challenges and problems a lot of us will recognize from our own lives. Derek is one of very few workers on a small home for the elderly in Britain, and the show deals with him and his life, as well as dealign with elderly people's last stop in life, and how people deal with it. Being an autist, Derek is socially awkward, something which creates some problems and challenges for the people around him, as well as giving us some laughter, but it's important to know that I laugh WITH the lovely character that is Derek, not of him. He's a good person through and though and he wish nothing but the best upon everyone else. He's the kind of character that'll make your eyes wet and make you go "aaaaaaaw!", and I am not joking. Karl Pilkington and David Earl stands behind most of the laughs here. You'll see a lot of Karl Pilkington in Karl Pilkington's character, and while he might seem like a dick now and then, at the bottom of his heart he's another lovely bloke with much good in him. Same goes for David Earl's character, who's the dumbest of the lot. But in the end, this series is all about love fo a system and the people that system takes care of. I'm in love! Highlight: Duran Duran! So simple, yet proper fucking genius!
