Fantastic song, and Mr. Mutherfuckin’ eXquire's verse is easily the highlight here. That flow is incredible, man. The entire album is fantastic. Among the most overlooked hip hop albums of the 2000's so far. It might be El-P's straightest effort so far in his career in terms of production, but it's so well-done from begining to end and it's got his name written all over it anyway so even if it's unoriginal in many ways, it still sounds fresh as fuck. Genius!

The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh - The first entry into the giallo genre by Sergio Martino, and probably his best film ever. The first thing you'll notice here is that it looks gorgeous. It's super-stylized and shot in a way that makes the entire film look like a billion dollars. It looks a lot better than his next film, The Case of the Scorpion's Tail, even though it should have been the other way around. The film is again written by Ernesto Gastaldi who would write most of Martino's giallos, but it is a lot better written, and the plot is a lot more interesting and way mroe complex than The Case of the Scorpion's Tail. It's very well-acted as well, with familiar Sergio Martino and giallo-actors like George Hilton, Edwige Fenech and Ivan Rassimov in the leads. All three excellent of course. But to just sum it up: everything from the way the film is scripted, shot and scored are nothing short of impressive. A lot of the scenes are incredible and they're that kind of scenes you'll remember for a long time after you've watching them. I love the dream-sequences in the film. They look bloody fucking amazing! This film is up there with the very best in the genre, and that says it all.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyC2uTebKnQ One of the best movie clips ever. Fucking classic!

This legend died recently. What a man, guys! Was a fantastic drummer in his first period in Motorhead. Hell yeah!

As for classics, these five are a good place to start as they're top notch quality and really give a sense of what giallo is all about: Deep Red Blood and Black Lace The Bird with the Crystal Plumage Don't Torture a Duckling Torso These are all essential as far as giallo and slashers goes. If you like some of these, then you should dig way deeper into the genre as it has got a shitload of amazing movies to offer. I think Blood and Black Lace are my favourite out of this. Such a fine film, man! As for more modern films, there's been a few releases over the past 10 years that's amazing as well: Red Nights Yellow (2012) Berberian Sound Studio Amer The Editor The Strange Colour of Your Body's Tears These are a lot more experimental and artsy, though. But they're all fantastic. From these I'd say Red Nights are my favourite, but it's a very hard pick.

The Case of the Scorpion's Tail - Early 70's Giallo by Sergio Martino. It's a fairly standard film as far as giallos goes and you won't find anything new or remotely original here, and while it's quite obviously a low-budget film, or at least looks that way, it's very stylish in the giallo tradition, and the overall look of it is sexy. Lots of exciting angels used which ends up giving us plenty eye candy, and its shot in a veyr nice way. I love the set pieces for the murders, and the murders themself are sexy as fuck, just as you'd expect form a film like this. It's suspenseful, atmospheric and got a great mystery to it. I wouldn't say it's an essential film and this wouldn't be among the films I would recommend starting with for people who want to get into giallo, but if you're slightly into giallos and slashers I would totally recommend this one. Great film!

http://metalhammer.teamrock.com/news/2015-11-10/abbath-premieres-new-song-winter-bane The new songs sounds pretty good to be honest, and is easily the best song till now. Sounds like Sons of Northern Darkness mixed with Between Two Worls. A lot more heavy metal-oriented than I was expecting. The cover art however: godfuckingawful! What the hell was he thinking?

In Fear - Cold, chilling and minimalistic horror sure to put a scare into you. It's short, take sit time to build some suspense and has a sense of mystery to it. Nice cinematography, and there's a lovely claustrophobic feeling to it all as soon as things gets going. Sure made my heart run faster at times. It's well-acted, but Iain De Caestecker's character is awful and you just want him to die a slow, painful death. Sadly. But the rest here, aside from a few awful outside-and-in shots from outside the car is annoyingly bad, is pretty good. Recommended for sure. The Battery - A nice little horror-drama with some comedy where the drama stands a lot stronger than the horror. Calling this a horror film is a bit of a stretch to be honest, but I really liked this film. It's a very different zombie film with a good, small cast, some fantastic chemestry and a lovely soundtrack. The first half feels more like a montage of clips, but it works really well and the second half, though it drags on a bit towards the end, is really good and powerful. This isn't a film made to scare you in any way possible, but it's a very cool film. I really liked it's mellow, adventure-esque take on the zombie genre. This is written by, directed by and starring Jeremy Gardner. Very impressive stuff, and a good debut.

The Maze Runner - While not a very good film, this was actually quite enjoyable, especially considering it's another young adult book-to-film which tends to be shit. I especially enjoyed the first half of the film which was nice and dark, and you were just wonder why they were where they where. It feels a bit thin though, and the longer the film went on I just felt like they had used the majority of the plot in the first half of the film, and the second half were just there to add to the lenght of the film. It just got a bit thin. But all in all I thought this was a fairly enjoyable film, and way, way better than I had expected. But I am actually looking forward to the sequel. Killers - Dark, gritty and a bit disturbing thriller by Indonesian directors The Mo Brothers (Macabre). This is a Japanese-Indonesian film and half of it goes on in Indonesia and the other half in Japan, and it utilizes Indonesian, Japanese and English language which feels a bit refreshing. It sure wasn't what I expected at all, but I really liked it. It's well-written, extremely well-acted by our leads Kazuki Kitamura and Oka Antara, as well as the supporting cast, especially Rin Takanashi, and the cinematography is gorgeous. Stylish and very brutal film. Totally recommended! Man from Reno - Breathtaking mystery-thriller by Dave Boyle with a good, unpredictable plot, a nice cast where our lead Ayako Fujitani is nothing short of brilliant, and the supporting acters such as Pepe Serna and Kazuki Kitamura also impresses a lot. Strong performances by all of them. The plot had me guessing from begining to end and it never stopped surprising me with its twists and turns and whatnot. It looks gorgeous as well. Just have a look at that opening scene. Looks so beautiful! Well, fuck this writing shit. Just watch it, guys! If you're into thrillers, mystery films or noirs this should be your cup of tea for sure. And instant classic if you ask me, and a film I'll watch over and over and over again in the future. Masterpiece!

This album is so good. Hard to find a decent rip of it, but it's still woth a try. because the entire album rips. Five of the eight songs on the album i actually well above six minutes long, which is quite unusual for a thrash metal album. Nice, long, epic heavy/thrash metal songs. Such a great album!

A Serbian Film sucks, and that comes from someone deep into all kinds of exploitation film. Didn't have any impact on me whatsoever as I felt it tried way too hard to be shocking. "Let's take everything that's awful and press it into one film. That'll be cool and shocking, bro.". No, it won't. That's not how you make a shocker anymore. It's also way too polished and well-made for its own good IMO. 3/10, boring. I'd rather watch Martyrs, Audition, À l'intérieur, Irréversible or some other classics if I want something shocking, because these films has a lot more going on. The terrorizing, dark and disturbing atmosphere and feeling in these films are amazing. It's a lot more than just some graphic shit like A Serbian Crap. Mmmmmh!

But because of Lestat'senthusiasm towards Gama Bomb I thought I'd go through the discography of the band, as well as other bands like Bio-Cancer, Havok, Bonded by Blood, Lich King, Fueled by Fire, Chronosphere, Possessor, Violator and so on and see if I enjoy them more now. I'm not all that positive, though. But I'll give all of them, as well as others, a new, fair chance. But at the end of the day I am sure I'll just stick to old Toxic Holocaust, Fastkill, Deathraiser, first Merciless Death, Avenger of Blood, Sauron and a few more. These are also a part of the thrash metal revival, but they sound quite different than the others above. These bands (-Merciless Death) seem to be a lot more inspired by Kreator, Sodom, Sadus, Dark Angel, Destruction, Bathory and son on, rather than by Exodus, Vio-Lence, Megadeth, Metallica, Anthrax, Evildead and so on which seems to be the main inspiration for the ones above. But as I said, I'll give the pizza-thrashers a new, fair chance and see if anyone hits me a bit harder this time around.

As you know I'm a total martial arts-film freak, and Netflix have been pleasing me lately with the addition of a lot of martial arts films, especially the big classics from the 70-s to the mid-90's. But a lot of golden films after that as well. I'll just make a small list of some of what is currently available of badassness with my personal scores and whatever. We're taking plenty of the best martial arts flicks ever made here: Come Drink With Me (10/10) Shaolin Martial Arts (10/10) 5 Shaolin Masters (9/10) Executioners from Shaolin (10/10) Heroes of the East (10/10) The Avenging Eagle (10/10) Invincible Shaolin (9/10) Crippled Avengers (10/10) The Five Venoms (10/10) (better known as The Five Deadly Venoms) The Kid with the Golden Arm (9/10) Return to the 36th Chamber (8/10) Disciples of the 36th Chambers (8/10) Masked Avengers (9/10) The Shaolin Temple (10/10) The Shaolin Temple (10/10) Martial Arts of Shaolin (8/10) The Legend (8/10) The Legend 2 (8/10) Twin Warriors (8/10) The Defender (8/10) Iron Monkey (10/10) Ip Man (9/10) Ip Man 2 (8/10) Dragon (8/10) Ong Bak (9/10) Chocolate (8/10) A lot of the older ones here are Chang Cheh films, and he's THE man when it comes to martial arts films. Man was a brilliant director as far as martial arts films goes. A genius, and easily one of my all-time favourite. God! Superb man! Plenty of the Chang Cheh films also feature The Venom Mob, which is totally fucking cool! I can easily recommend all these films. Unless you're a martial arts freak as well you should quite obviously take my scores with a handful of salt, as I am a total fanboy of older martial arts films. Massive fanboy.

Never kicked much on Gama Bomb, and this was more or less like everything else I've heard from the guys. Always sounded like just another retro thrash metal band, just like Havok, Bonded by Blood, Lich King, Evile, Fueled by Fire and so on. For mot part they sound flat, modern and boring, and I just can't find no character in their music. The music video is great, though. Fantastic video. Sonny Chiba!!!

Deathgasm looks neat! I really want to watch it, but it's still not available. The film looks like so much fun.

Music-wise, yeah, sure it can still do something for me. There's still good bands popping out every now and then and so on. But I'll admit that I lost interest in the VK scene many, many, many years ago, and it hasn't come back. Not because there wasn't any good bands anymore, but because for every good band I found I had to try 50 boring/poor/awful ones, and todays it's probably even worse. And the good aren't even so good that it's not worth the trouble. And I hate the übermodern metalcore that seems to inspire a shitload of the bands nowadays. It's awful. But I still enjoy good music and there's still VK bands making good music. I just have a bigger problem findind them than before. So big problems that I don't bother, and I don't have a place which makes it easy to find new bands either. Another problem is that it seems to be very trendy to have awful sounding drums. Clicking bassdrums without any bass or power whatsoever is the biggest problem with this to myears. Image-wise it does nothing for me these days, though. Think pretty much every single band I lay an eye on looks like übershit

2019: After the Fall of New York - Another Italian film from the post-apocalyptic boom in the early to mid 80's, by the very underrated Sergio Martino (The Strange Vice of Mrs. Wardh, The Mountain of the Cannibal God). The film starts off as a Mad Max: The Road Warrior rip off, but it doesn't take long before is transforms to an Escape from New York rip off, and it does it well. This isn't very good filmmaking, but it's damn entertaining and up there with 1990: The Bronx Warriors. At times it's rather bloody/gory and nice as well. Very cool, very cheesy and of course very, very trashy. Loved it!

PUSSY!

1990: The Bronx Warriors - One of many Italian post-apocalyptic rip offs made in the 80's, and it's also many to feature Fred Williason. This gem was directed by Enzo G. Castellari (The Inglorious Bastards, Keoma), and while it's ofted refered to as a (Mad) Maxloitation, but don't believe that. This film is a mix of The Warriors and Escape From New York, with a mit of Mad Max: The Road Warrior thrown in. And when I say mix, I mean rip off. This is just pure, shameless rip off, but it's fun rip off. Oh dear, this is so much fun. The amount of cheese found in this film is insane, and it's all so silly, bad and awful you just have to love it. Or, I do at least. Fuck yeah, I thought this was amazing. It's not fine art, but damn is it entertaining! FIne trash cinema. 8/10 Vic Morrow and Fred Williamson are both god damn awesome! Escape from the Bronx - This is the sequel, and while it isn't nearly as good as the original, it's still a shitload of fun. This feels a bit less cheesy, and plot-wise it's far from the first one. This film is 85 minutes long, and I'd say 70 minutes or so of them are a long shoot-em-up party. There's so much action here. You won't believe it before you see it, but it's fun! It's very, very, very fun! Silly, over the top and dumb fun. 7/10 Henry Silva is cool as fuck!

I'd kill for Merry to coem to Norway, but as the demand for Japanese rock artists like this in Norway is so small there's just no chance they'll come here. It's such a shame.

Furious Seven - The Fast and the Furious franchise got a huge facelift with Fast Five, the fifth films in the series, and shifted focus from ugly cars, boring characters and disappointing action to badass characters, great action and lots of fun. They continued that with Fast & Furious 6, though it was a bit worse, and again continuing that with Furious Seven. With Furious Seven they've added the little that was good in the first one with everything that was great the last two films, making it the best film in the series till now, a pinky finger ahead of Fast Five. It's longer, more badass and a lot more over the top. This is actually one of the most over the top films I've ever seen in my entire life. And the cast is better than ever. Vin Diesel, The Rock, Djimon Hounsou, Kurt Russell, Jason Statham, Nathalie Emmanuel, Tony Jaa, The biggest disappointment here is that they have Tony fucking Jaa featured, and he only gets to fight Paul Walker who is nowhere near a worthy opponent. I mean, you have one of the best modern martial arts stars at your hand and you're not even giving him a worthy opponent? Jesus, use him for all he's worth for fucks sake. The man is a god! Another disappointment is that Ronda Rousey isn't given a worthy opponent as well. Such a shame. But this was fun. This was very, very fun! Also, when I saw James Wan was to direct this I was very disappointed. I'm a huge fan of the man, but I never thought he'd be able to pull off something like this. But he nailed it! Thought it was the sexies film in the franchise so far as well, the way it's shot and all. Looked really nice! Rollerball - Very good dystopian sci-fi flick from the mid 70'. The game itself is fantastic, and as the film goes on the game just gets better and better, and the story and plot is very good as well. The vision is great, and a bit scary to be honest, but very interesting. Totally recommended film!

The Avengers: Age of Ultron - To my big surprise I thought The Avengers was a good film, much because of the badassness of Captain America, so I was looking forward to this. It's not great film, and it is in many ways a worse film than the first, but it's a fun, action-packed film with non-stop action-comedy. That's basically all this film ha got going for it. But I proper enjoyed that, so I don't mind. But that's all it is as well. But I have two big problems with the films: 1. The Romance. WHat the fuck was that? It's so forced and out of place, and where the hell wer ethe builup for this? It felt like it was suddenly there. It's just there out of nothing. Doesn't make much sense IMO. 2. My biggest problem with Age of Ultron is the same as with more or less all the MCU films: the villain is so underdeveloped, and they're not even close at utilizing the amazing potential of the villain. He's just there so we can see The Avengers fuck shit up, blow shit up and throw silly. but at times hilarious, one-lines in our face. I just don't get this at all. It's not like this is something that has happened once. It hapens again, again and again in these films. Why on earth aren't they trying to create better, more purpose-filled villains? He's just paper-thin to be honest. Such a shame, once again. I don't know, and I don't get it. A 7/10 type of film. Not great, but nice entertainment on a mondnay evening. Manson Family Vacation - A really good drama-comedy about two brothers, their relationship, families and their view on families. The mix of drama and black comedy works really good, the two leads are superb and the dialogue is very, very good. It's a simple, straight-forward film, but a well-executed and fun film as well. Totally recommended! A lot of simle-minded people seem to hate this for its Manson Familiy-themed plot, but this isn't about the Manson Family at all and there is no Manson glorifying anything at all. Don't believe the hate.

That is very cool, and I'll come back with some recommendations for some great experimental metal bands later. But I just woke up so I gotta get down some coffee and watch a movie before I do anything else. In the meantime people should check ou this gem of a band: Very cool band with a lot of different music to offer. Some of their releases is atmospheric black metal, a few avant-garde/experimental black metal, psychedelic folk, ambient and so on. Very much recommended. Got a shitload of releases though. Between their formation in 2005 and now they've released 13 albums (13 of them between 2007 and 2011), 36 EPs and some demos, singles and splits. The two members also have two other bands, one which is very productive as well. With Oaks of Bethel they have released 12 albums and something like 11 proper EPs. Recommended band as well. Very good, but less experimental than the first one.

The new Mansion EP can be streamed here: http://weshalllive.bandcamp.com/ Amazing release once again from these finns, and most likely the best thing they've done till now. Fantastic!

I don't mind autotune at all as long as it's used a bit subtle. Just don't go full retard with it. Agalloch is a band who utilizes autoune to great success live IMO.
