i'll only get my cds tmr so i haven't heard their new single... I CANNOT WAIT. and 素晴らしきこの世界へ is apparently fuma's favorite song off this single so i'm especially excited to hear that one
 
i can totally understand why the change in their music direction (if you could call it that) wouldn't be palatable to some fans. to be fair that was a huge concern the band had as well. i remember keiya saying how torn he was when they decided to try something knew cos he wasn't sure if the fans can accept it. ultimately i think the main 'payoff' for their new sound comes through most clearly at lives, and it's difficult to judge songs like panic panic and poison chocolate without having seen them live, esp. with all the audience participation elements. i mean, even before panic panic, listening to Paradise Dance on record was NOTHING like experiencing it live. the energy of the entire livehouse moving in sync + how good keiya is at hyping the crowd up is quite mind blowing. the recent music only lifts that to a higher level.
 
i'm not sure what i feel about the 2 recent PVs still, since ordinarily they would def be too cheesy for me (and like, the reason i actually love them is because of my ridiculously intense bias for the band LOL). but i found that if i listen without watching the pv, the sound actually doesn't deviate too much from some of the stuff they had before? it's still the same sound effects, the same catchy choruses, the same signature purple stone hooks etc. and then there's also the lyrics aspect. it's understandable that their recent output is easy to dismiss as 'non-serious' and 'playful' music but actually fuma kinda detests 'paripi' music (basically superficial, thoughtless party/clubbing music) lol. he's said time and again in interviews and talkshows that his job is to try and neutralize the capriciousness of their sound by writing lyrics that gives substantial depth to the songs. that doesn't mean that his lyrics are preachy or inscrutable - it just means there's more to their music than meets the eye so like, there's something for everyone, assuming you can access everything: recorded music, live experience, lyrics, interviews/blogs/tweets, and so on. anyway fuma just seems to be a super intelligent person from the stuff he writes/says haha. he twitcasts A LOT (almost every night) so pls just drop by and say hi even if you dunno what he's saying
 
oh and a slight digression: their new single seems to be selling quite well! i ordered from 3 different shops for fun this time and both like an edison and jishuban have sold out their first press (so they're waiting on stock). i checked cdjapan and it seems to be the same there. little hearts and zeal link have limited stock left.

I really like how they named the album too. Red mixed with blue makes purple.

can't say i'm too surprised given shota's condition for the past 2 years but still extremely bummed. funny how after 10+ years shota is still getting lots of ridiculous flak for presumably standing in the way of alvino becoming another pierrot or la'cryma christi (which they never were from the start), but ok. personally i thought the band was fucking brilliant at what they were doing and shota will always be one of my fave vocalists.

Oh what the hell?! People still talk shit about Shota holding them back?
 
I can't imagine an ALvino without Shota. His voice fit the music perfectly. Although I'm sad that they're disbanding, at least they've had a good eleven years despite being the post-PIERROT band that got slept on.

Seconding all of what Duwang said. I liked You when he was in LucaRia but he's a huge turnoff now. There's a big difference between enthusiastically hyping the crowd up and coming down from stage and forcing random people who simply aren't into you to do your furi. At the live I was at he did that to a few girls who weren't even there to see gosan and hurt one of them almost to the point of tears. Maybe their fans like his badass attitude or whatever idk... but terrorizing fans of other bands at the same taiban and depriving them of a space to enjoy their bands in peace is def not cool at all. Anyway the amount of complaints you can find on Twitter on his live behavior is unreal.

I just finished RIP and I came here to say that the heavier riffs aren't exactly the best look for them, and what a coincidence that I don't seem to be alone thinking that haha. Track six ain't bad and will probably grown on me more eventually, but so far it looks like this album isn't going to be on par even with the B-sides of the recent singles ( which were excellent, so the bar for anfiel is set really high. ) 
 
by the way, the preview for the new single sounds rrly good. Stoked.
 
edit: a really unsavoury riff on track 7. These heavier rock riffs that are on this album I really hope they won't keep relying on too much in the future.

If you share iTunes purchases, make sure your iTMS Scrubber is updated. Apparently iTunes has sneakily added a new DRM field called "owner" which extracts your full name from your OS system files. This field is currently not erased by iTMS Scrubber v2.3 (for Windows), which is the version I believe most of us are using. I verified this by making a purchase 20 minutes ago and running the Scrubber, and my name wasn't erased.

Here are the steps to manually update your Scrubber - you only have to perform it once.

Open itms-scrubber.cmd in Notepad or a text editor. If you're unable to see the "Open with..." option, go to Folder Options in your Control Panel, unhide file extensions for known file types, and append .txt to your itms-scrubber.cmd to force-open it in Notepad.

Now the 6th line of the code should read:

You can toggle file extensions off if you've previously shown them to edit the file. That's all, the scrubber should remove the new field now. Steps should be similar for Mac version, though I'm unable to confirm that since I'm on Windows.

Posting in this thread just to say how much I hate Gosan's vocalist.
I saw them last July at a taiban at Ikebukuro Edge and despite that I was standing in the back with my back against the wall, he made his way towards me, grabbed me, and shoved me forward because I wasn't doing the furi for his shitty band. Plenty of people in front of and next to me weren't doing furi either but he fucking targeted me because I'm a foreigner and stick out from the rest of the crowd. He fucked off for a bit and came back, put his hands on me, and tried to force me to oritatami but I told him to go die and he finally understood that I want none of that shit.
Since then whenever my bands play with Gosan I chill in the hallway (and so do a bunch of Japanese bangya. Dude is infamous in the scene)
 
How they got so many fans in the past year is beyond me but a friend of mine who went to an instore a while back says their eigyou game is next level so that's probably why.

not gonna take sides since I hardly know the details of the drama, but no matter how you look at it this is a blow for people who actually care about the 'no 1 curr' bands, or random ad-hoc sessions, or what live-limited cd is being distributed in sendai next weekend. whether the news is of quality is for the audience to judge; however without an appreciable volume of news filtering in there's nothing left to know about, much less to judge. and regardless if you like trombe, or however questionable his motives may be, it can't be denied that he's been a great service to not just you and me but the international vk community since it should be patently obvious that every self-professed 'vk news source' out there is basically a c+p of what's posted in MH.

SID grew pretty quickly too. They formed towards the end of 2003, and had their first oneman tour in the autumn of 2005, and tickets sold out almost immediately. They played at Budokan on 2006.08.29 - just short of their 3rd anniversary.

2010.12.11 - First Tokyo Dome live (sold 40,000)
