L&DS had a one-day revival today!!!!! everyone came back for tonight's live except for Kru (T_T) but he sent Touma a message to wish him happy birthday (yup it's his birthday today as well ^^) touma and maro in their sugar blue ocean costume! touma with akiji (he's staff at kingly mask now!) AND OF COURSE YUUJI!!!!!!!!!! yuuji's still as genki as he was 2 years ago <3 sooooo much feels seeing him back even if it's just for one day

Anli Pollicino FoLLoW and glamhaze are disbanding in dec/jan respectively, so when that happens i guess SDM and vivarush will make the list.

Tonight's live at Ikebukuro Blackhole was ridiculously long (11 bands in lineup)... it opened at 15.30 and THE SINK played at 21.30 because they were up last... Honestly the lineup itself was pretty horrible (they were mostly sessions that comprise bandmen who haven't even formed a proper band before haha). THE SINK was definitely the best (not biased!!!) even though they literally had only FOUR people who went to see them LOL... but it's ok, some sessions had 0. Anyway today's also Kate's birthday so this is a doubly important day for him i also bought like 4 copies of snow fall season haha

this has probably been said/explored elsewhere on this forum, but "oshare" in its germinal stages was really a cauldron of heterogeneous strands of sound and style that probably meant 30 different things to 10 different people. there's a lot in there. arguably its definition only got murkier with time (today it means everything from "colorful clothes" to "bands that do sessions in suits" to "bands that don't scream" lolol, which is frankly ridiculous and totally unhelpful) most of the representative bands have already been listed, so i'll just contribute a few from my own personal trajectory through oshare which inevitably reveals a lot more about my interests than oshare as such haha. 176BIZ was the シド that never abandoned vk, and its style survived into its later incarnation ZUCK which stayed 100% true to its spirit till disbandment. not surprising, given that Yuu pretty much wrote everything. SwallowtaiL-スワロウテイル- and phase faith (don't be deceived by their host looks!!) belonged to the strand of late-2000 white-kei-influenced oshare that shared a similar kind of sound with other bands playing contemporaneously like レイラ. ジミニークリケット came a little later, but sound wise they could totally have fit into the line of more subdued yet uplifting sound that possibly started with Clavier and subsequently inherited by Toon-Factory and co. This was written by shia and it's really not difficult to see how it foreshadowed some of Chanty's materials today as well (especially their earlier stuff) i won't derail the thread too much but it's possible to map larger continuities between oshare of the 2000 and later bands if you look hard enough, even though the tendency is to look back on it wistfully as some kind of a bygone era. as an example: the toolbox of sounds baroque brought to vk in early 2000 went in so many directions, the most direct one led to rap-oriented bands like bis and a little later: BAELSCOPE, 東京指定, TRA TRA TRA, etc. among the bigger bands, vistlip and SuG describe themselves as ミクスチャー("mixture rock") and regularly cite baroque as an important influence. if you're nostalgic for the idiosyncratic/quirky kote-osa sound (JRD is the expert here), there's SDM, the new (post-ritsu) GLAM GRAMM@R, and there's even a bit of it in early i.Rias. sure, it's not exactly the same, but there's a lot out there, still.

i've kinda given up on them some time ago but a friend told me to check this release out because he thinks i'll like it and i must say i'm pleasantly surprised. i really enjoy the title track, and a good bit of the 3rd track (before the chanting lolllll)

i'm not familiar with this band but one line in the japanese announcement ("following his wishes we will not disclose details of his condition") is eerily reminiscent of something that happened not so long ago. i hope it's nowhere as serious as that and may he recover soon.

WTF........................ what??? my heart sank reading that. they have been playing together since high school and they've around forever so most guild fans kinda just assumed they will remain around forever. i can't imagine guild without ryuichi at all T_T

Anfiel's currently on their "August Cup" tour with a couple of other bands like DOF, SCAPEGOAT, REIGN, レイヴ, Neverland, ベル, etc. They will begin in Tokyo on 11/3, then fly to Hokkaido, down to Hokuriku region, then Chugoku after a brief stop in Yokohama, across to Kyushu, then head eastwards to Kansai, and finally they will be back to Tokyo for their tour final on 12/1! On 11/3 the tour began at Takadanobaba AREA in Tokyo: 11/6-7 Sapporo KRAPS HALL 11/9 Sendai MACANA 11/11 Nagano JUNK BOX Tomorrow they will be heading to Niigata for their 3rd and final performance in the Tohoku/Hokuriku region, then moving on to Shin-yokohama

i can't think of another instance where the songwriter makes it so obvious that he's retiring (short of announcing it explicitly)
