I've been meaning to translate this for a long time and just never got round to it. There's a version floating around the 'net already but the original kanji are inaccurate and I wanted to give it a go myself anyway. The lyrics here are transcribed from the original single, I haven't checked if they changed at all in the Undertake booklet for the re-recording. I'm also intending to translate the other song from this single, Roots, but (shh) I can't really be bothered right now. Signal's last official single came out last month and it's a pretty epic track. The clean vocals toward the end of the song got stuck in my head so I opened up my copy and took them down. And then proceeded to translate the whole thing, which is actually largely in English. For the record, I currently have no intentions of translating the other track from this single, 10F. I'm not really ready to give a score yet, but I'm definitely enjoying the album overall. I agree that most of the best tracks are ones we've heard before though.

I'm also going to Japan for a year, from the middle of September. Encephalitis is usually carried by ticks, and it's most common in Hokkaido I believe. I will probably be getting this done before I fly out myself, but iirc you need to pre-order/book the injections, at least here in the UK.

Interesting, I guess it will be with Sujk at least. I hope Leda gets on board too, but if it's Juri's album then I guess he won't be composing... time to see how Juri fares making his own music.

If Miyavi is well known for one thing, it's not sticking to one thing. Despite his ever-changing style, I applaud the man for the enthusiasm he pumps into each new project. From his darker roots with Due le Quartz, through his acoustic, hip-hop and completely stripped down eras, he's managed to hold my attention. I agree, he's not the most brilliant vocalist or the most original composer, but nearly every song on this new album is so damn catchy it's hard to get it out of your head. And despite myself, I love it. The lyrics are deeper (Justice), the choruses are catchier than ever (Ahead of the Light, Horizon) and he's still managed to be experimental (Secret). All in all, I really enjoyed this album, and while it's a completely different step from anything Miyavi has done before, I'll support him in his new dance-guitar hybrid mode. It's just too memorable not to.
