This seems interesting so I'll add my two cents.

I really find ふぁっきんA by Idiot really listenable and I enjoy it.

I love really bad vocals. You guys may think I'm trolling, but this is the truth. The worst the vocalist is, the more I seem to like it. I think I'm M when it comes to vocals, but oh wells. The more cringe worthy it is, the more it's like bliss.

Oh, thank goodness I'm not the only one who's getting sick of the "let's all bash on the Gazette" trend. I'm not very fond of the Gazette either, but it's not like they are the epitome of everything that's awful and wrong with visual kei as many people make them out to be. -__- At least, I think if people do pick on them, they should have better reasons for doing so besides "the fandom is annoying," etc.

And I think the whole "indie cred" shit is the most IDIOTIC concept ever. That's doesn't just go for visual kei bands either, but all music everywhere. Indie bands can be shitty too. Indie bands can be repetitive and unoriginal. I can't stand it when people just automatically flock to something because they only have a certain number of listens on Last.FM or whatever and deem it good when it actually isn't or is mediocre (this is especially true for certain non-visual J-indies fans, good god have some discretion people). I feel like worrying about how underground or unpopular the music is just defeats the purpose of listening to music in the first place - to enjoy it, to be inspired by it, etc.

"IT IS A TRAVESTY WHEN VKEI BANDS TONE DOWN THEIR VISUALS"

I had to use a fucking Gaia Online widget site to make that text, so you know I mean it. I honestly get really upset when I try out older, god-tier vkei bands and look at their old pictures and see how fetishy they looked at one point, and their most recent pictures are pretty much regular Japanese guys, maybe one with auburn colored hair and one having blond, in street clothing. One of my biggest appeals with visual-kei is the visuals: I live for frilly, neon hair, guys who can't paint, feathers, bloody bandages, useless face belts, hooker stockings, 8 inch Hot Topic boots, naziploitation, and unnatural eye colors. To an extent, I do feel that there is a lot of creativity that can go into stage costumes, and it is a damn shame that there isn't more effort put into visuals in an artistic sense, instead of "our frontman is blond and we have a trappy bassist so we are vkei ok." Obviously as the scene has become more streamlined, there are typical styles and ~*~visual shock~*~ approaches that are going to be repeated over and over, but that isn't to say that one day someone else will share my stance on it.

Take Malice Mizer, for example, They took visuals and theatrics to the extreme to accompany their music. Versailles, to a lesser extent, did as well. As did groups like Raphael, Lareine, Missa, and listenable Diru. However, groups like Penicillin, Pierrot, Luna Sea, Kuroyume, and Rentrer en Soi all mellowed out as time went on. I get that Hakuei no longer wearing having flowing red hair in a pvc g-string is going to appeal to a larger audience, but that doesn't mean I have to be fucking happy about it. Due Le'Quartz is the biggest offender here. Their outfits were stellar, and then they ended in 3 piece suits with cigars and sun glasses. MYV, put those bat wings back on and cut this shit out.

This all stems from my appreciation of androgyny. I do find being gender ??? to be artistic, not only in vkei but in other art forms as well, and find the elements of visual-kei costumes that shroud the band members' humanity to be fascinating. That's why I really don't care about finding pictures of Mana without makeup because I can already tell that home girl needs Adobe's help.

about gazette. i don't hate the people. i am annoyed about the adolescence /weebo fangirlism these fandoms tend to have and the complete lack of interest and knowledge of other bands.  i can't follow them in tumblr etc and i don't want to talk to them because a majority tends to posts 231e342312321423 pages of how uruha touched aoi's shoulder ...from a distance... with his eyes... and OMFG the yaoi.
and another 33322909-0 pages of fangirlism that i don't care about because i don't find attractive the members. i don't see how i could talk with a person who only like gazette etc and haven't a clue at all about other small bands.or bands that i like. they tend to do that.

i mean NOT everyone.they are always exceptions. just saying a lot of people. i prefer lycaon fans etc for example even if i don't listen to them. they seem to know about more bands and have more interesting comments

奇形/Kikei means deformity (as in birth defect). However, in the title it's written using the kanji 鬼(demon) and 経(sutra) and in the lyrics using the kanji 鬼(demon) and 形(shape). I tried to include all possible versions in my translation.

Kyouki talked about this text in an interview before and said the image he had in mind was that of a medieval town where a little girl that was born with horns on her head is sacrificed by the villagers.

The user titles are related to post count. If you get a certain number of posts, you get a certain title. Alternatively you can set your own title after you reached a certain number of posts, I forgot the exact number, I think 400 or 500.

And you can thank me for the weird titles. I wanted to make them jrock-releated and, well.... semi-funny instead of just using the default titles.

    悲しみは巡りゆく季節と眠る哀

Sorrow is grief that's sleeping with the changing seasons

The change of season tells that time is passing
All the powdery snow the sky has shed
    Look...

At the place of our promise, painted white
The memories you left behind  overflow
The softly melting snow in my palms
Is just like you, right? Pale and fleeting

    If you were here...

I want to see you, I want to see you
Even though I know it's a wish that won't come true
I'll be right here waiting for you next year, too

    Flow of time
Please make all this sorrow wash away
    I'm begging you

I know the past can't be erased...

I want to see you, I want to see you
If it's just a dream or illusion I don't care
Just once more I want to...
    Sometimes I hurt you
    And made you feel sad
But my voice saying "I'm sorry" won't reach you now

I want to see you, I want to see you
These vain thoughts are just for myself
    It's slipping through now
    all this time... look...
    The sorrow and the pain
Let's leave them buried under this snow already
Because you are not here anymore...

The piled up snow will melt
When the season changes and spring comes
In this place what will remain?
ah...Please send my feeling to you.
    A season of sorrow...
Let us sleep with the snow of grief

    Snow of grief, good night...

After listening through the whole thing twice (which wasn't as easy as it sounds, but I will get to that later) I decided I'd drop a review here as well. All GazettE fans beware, this is not going to be pretty.
    DISC 1
Disc 1 actually started with a really good SE. It had a kind of dark atmosphere that reminded me of DIM's SE's and I suppose that's a good sign. Unfortunately the rest of the disc fell in its vain. Most tracks sound very similar to eachother, and it doesn't really help that you have two guitarists playing the exact same riffs which hardly creates a good melody. Hedoro had its moments (as a blatant HEADACHE MAN rip-off, that is) but the rest was forgettable. Still, it was nothing horrible on a TOXIC level and for that I have to somehow praise them, even though it's obvious they have no ideas left whatsoever. The bass and drums that should be carrying the rhythm don't do their job, as Reita is hardly audible on this entire album. Kai's drumming doesn't add much either. Also guys, there is something that you call "guitar tuning". Use it.
    6/10
    DISC 2
The main problem with this disc was me not being able to get through it twice. On an initial listen I thought some parts sounded cool, but when giving it my full attention I realized how incredibly bad this is. Reita skipped the recording sessions, there is no melody whatsoever because you have the two guitarists once again play the same riffs and the synth that could also help with the melody is just making random bleeps here and there. Add some autotune with that and you have yourselves something that was so bad that it didn't even make TOXIC. No matter how much they call this a DIM inspired disc, I don't hear it apart from the obnoxious heavy songs that have stolen parts from songs like OGRE and HEADACHE MAN (one of these tracks had the exact same breakdown as HEADACHE MAN had). The electronics do nothing to the songs but annoy me either and the autotune is just not well placed and very disturbing.
    3/10
Overall: 4.5/10. I said everything there needs to be said. So that's why I'm now going to do a track-by-track review in gifs. Because I am bored like that and I have already given a long and plausible reason why I think this album was pretty damn bad.

Gaz reacted to TheBistroButcher666 in Lyrics - how much do they matter?
Lyrics are usually the last thing I care about in a song. Even songs in my native language the lyrics are usually the last thing I try and learn.

Honestly I can't explain why I don't care about lyrics, for me it's just not a priority when it comes to music. I have friends and acquaintances that HAVE to know the lyrics to a song or they just can't enjoy the music. I can see why with people that enjoy singing to a song or folks that enjoy translating but for me lyrics simply aren't a priority.

I also try to avoid learning the lyrics, especially for the blackened blackity blackblack metal stuff I like because the lyrics can often ruin a song for me. Mostly if they're just absurdly stupid or something like that. I'm also not a fan of funny lyrics so songs like 'This is a Pen' from Ensoku is not interesting or even funny to me. I think you have to sniff paint to think that is a good song. If the song didn't suck to begin with but was actually good I might like it if he was screaming This is a Pen in Japanese. Then I wouldn't be able to understand how retarded that song is.

I figure I'd mention but I cannot stand listening to full Engrish songs. It probably has to do with the above paragraph about funny lyrics or dumb lyrics ruining a song for me. You'd think that as someone that doesn't care about lyrics that Engrish songs would be something I'd be fine with. Yet Engrish songs are like nails on chalkboard to me especially when the song doesn't even sound like English and is instead some sort of abomination of the language. An example would be Versailles' Love Will Be Born Again I could not listen to that song without cringing in pain. For some reason it just sounds so wrong to my ears, maybe doesn't help that it was Kamijo of all people singing. It depends on the extent of how Engrishy it is to me, Kamijo needs to stop forever but YAMA-B is totally fine. Tid bits of Engrish sprinkled into a song don't really bother me but if it's 4-6 minutes of mumbling nonsense I just want to choke the singer. It really gets a negative reaction out of me hahaha!

okay, i promised to linh-san 'not good review' of this mini, so here it is

when i listened it for the first time i was like wtf.. but after couple more listening i've realized that it's pretty decent for nowadays vk releases.
anyway, it's weaker than their other albums. there is no song, that i can put on couple-hours-replay. messiah could be great song if they didn't used solo that sounds like killing me solo. i hate autotune in song with a lot of hieroglyphs and don't like that electronic sound. it's not 'their' sound, seriously. if it was just an experiment - okay, i can accept that. but if they'll continue to do that way, next release will be such *hit like gazette's last album. and that thing i can't accept, because i consider these guys as very promising band with a lot of potential.
    total: 3/5
anyway, it's just my opinion and you don't need to care about it =)
