I still don't understand what the question is asking or make sense of a reference possible in there. Is it an English thing?
  4. JukaForever

last question was broken, aren't English people the epitome of english grammar?

Going with what is going on in the news threads, in how multiple news are in one thread, it would be nice to organize the bands and the news pertaining to them. Much like how blogs tend to have a catalog of bands and you can just click on one of them to see what was the latest news from them. I still follow a few blogs for this reason, they are just organized better imo. I think the prefix is more work for the OP as they would now be forced to make a new thread for each news instead of just add on to the existing thread like what is going on now. Or if they could keep adding prefix onto the thread until maybe a limit of prefixes is reached and a new thread must be made.

Oh I didn't even know the vocalist had a previous bad. But I do like his voice especially with their instrumentals, probably my best study music, mellow and soulful. I am kinda disappointed there yazzmad first album isn't available anymore otherwise that would be one the list too.

I don't like iTunes as well. Their encoder can be shoddy at times but not always. Even though I say max VBR is inherently CD quality, I just don't think it's cool to sell a compressed version of your music. That's a little harsh and might come across as off-putting as an uploader. I think it depends on the intention, if the uploader themselves don't think there is a difference between V0/320 and less than V0/320 then that is the uploader's opinion and should be respected. Also, some people don't know any better or maybe doing so unknowingly such as the way iTunes presets compression to their 128 and will transcode your mp3 file into their AAC in order to save space for portability. I was shocked when it did it to me the first time. I do agree with the first point you made, it is silly to be compressing in low bitrates as an effort to get people to buy albums.

Well said, I don't really care much for credits for the same reasons. On the bitrates, its actually pretty hard to distinguish 128 to 320 MP3, especially with a genre of rock where there is a lot of distortion in the music. The differences can be much more obvious with none electrical instruments and you have the ear to hear for the notes played. The main reasons for obvious bad 128 is the encoding by ones like Windows Media Player or other suspect software that does weird stuff such as lowering volumes and reducing dynamic range to reduce file size. I have done my fair share of ABX with 128, 192, VBR V0, 320 and FLAC as well as MP3 vs AAC. From my findings, VBR V0 and up is pretty much transparent to CD quality but it is pretty hard to ABX 320 MP3 and lower bitrates especially VBR ones. I suggest people test it themselves and see their limits of audible difference between the various bitrates. I use LAME encoder and have settled with VBR V0 if I were to compress to MP3 but still understand that the lower bitrates are still hard to distinguish from each other.

Your write-ups are awesome, for the introduction of the artist especially while listening to a sampler at the same time.

I had most of my first Japanese music collection downloaded from various sites but I was an avid CD/DVD buyer ever since I was able to work when I was younger. I wasn't much of a downloader since I didn't have to and anything I downloaded was free such as mixtapes. Since a credit card was needed for overseas purchase, I couldn't really do anything about downloading until I had to turn of age when the bank could finally accept me. So now I upload as a sort of repayment to the community? as way to give thanks back as well as let something happen to some person what has happened to me which is discover new wonderful music to listen to. Special shout out to those that upload such unobtainium amazing stuff that I would never have probably discovered them myself. CAT5, how come you didn't answer your own question?

I don't really care about an artists personal life. But if I were to look at it that way, it is just a basic question of morals I guess. A very weak one at that since if you look at people in general, a great majority of which will also spend money on stupid shit but that stupid shit would be a matter of opinion. So should we stop paying people money and leave them jobless too?? People will look for contentment differently, to some it maybe spending money on expensive materials, consuming illegal substance or obtaining sex and to some ice cream is plenty. Music wise, I pay for the music first and foremost and other merchandise second. I am currently in a falling out with Hizaki and camp. It's disappointing personally since he one of the first artist I have grown to love for the work and I have to ultimately stop supporting after so long, I just can't dump my money on a shitty sounding band. Note: I don't think artists gain much from CD sales though, I was under the impression live gigs generate more revenue.
  13. JukaForever

oh wow, I guess you have the record so far and I didn't expect that band to have that many interests...well I am not much of a fan of Oshare Kei but that is interesting. I don't think youtube view count = popularity necessarily. A better, although minimally, away to assess popularity is the relation between view count AND likes ratio. There are many indie artists that have like ratios of 1000:1 with maybe 10k views while other more "popular" artists have large view count and terrible like ratios. So I don't think view count really equates being liked for their music. I noticed that Russia has many sites with flac uploaders as well, the download speed is pretty slow in comparison to servers closer to me but no sense to cry over it.

or cease to be in a public act (entertainment business). It's quite a contradiction (or maybe just weird) for those in the entertainment business to not want their music spread. Exception to those who knows they suck or keeping their music to friends only. Wow, your top 2 already costs about 300K in CD sales. I am not trying to rile up your conscience but its just interesting in my observation. No wonder the penalty are crazy for uploaders.

I don't understand these sentences. Did you mean, one or multiple files of yours got 20-30k downloads? WOW !! What file were those? db...id...page 1....what is that about? With that last sentence, so you don't upload non-well-known artists because there isn't a big enough audience? That is interesting since in my opinion, if the artist is not well known, they couldn't hurt from a few hundred downloads for more exposure.

lol yeah, getting to blog after blog with dead links, the only thing you can do is google harder... Did you only upload Japanese music or American music also in your account? I figure if the file doesn't get too much activity (downloads or maybe mirrors too, I am not sure how mirroring works tbh), then the account should be on the low from suspicion. Only by request for me. Well I don't think the average listener knows the difference between lossy and lossless in the first place, so it's better for them to just take the popular format. I have to rip in .wav else I can't use the lossless rips with my iPod Classic so sorry I can't provide FLAC as the lossless format. I actually wonder if there are blogs that are Japanese ran that does the same thing we do. Why the hell does google not show them.
  17. JukaForever

Well if it's a popular artists like Gazette or Dir En Grey, yea it will be reupped and likely re formatted. But for indie/obscure artists, I don't think as much will be reupped especially if the original link still works.

Question for the uploaders in this forum or other site, what is the most downloads you have for a single release? Assuming you have a way of keeping track. I am genuinely curious. Mine is Light Bringer - Scenes of Infinity MP3 ver with about 1100 DLs so far. I didn't expect so many, I thought it would be something like 300-500. Interestingly things I noticed go through my uploads, most of the comments I get in 4shared are those that are Spanish. And none of my lossless uploads get past 20 DLs which is why lossless is now a request only for me to do.

After 4 years of energy drinks due thinking I really need it for university, I have quitted. Now I am prepping (eating as less junk as possible) my body up to start working out again. I have to prep since home food is just unavoidable during the holidays. Nyasagi, you should try a doctor if it's that bad. Caffeine is technically a drug, if you consume too high of a dosage regularly, you end up with a high tolerance and in effect getting tired easily since now your body will get into withdrawals when you don't meet that dosage again. I don't mean to tell you what to do but just sharing my experience and what I have learned. RoseOfHizaki, 10 red bulls WTF, those are the smaller ones right.

Versailles Rose This one is the most memorable to me as a Versailles fan. Like the typical metaphor for "after your life blooms, comes the eventual death as part of life," there is a hidden skull hidden in the rose foreshadowing the final outcome of life. This is the same theme that Versailles used in their mini drama. The death of the girl at the end is comically sudden and almost seemed like a Make a Wish Foundation thing going on.
