The Raid 2 - The fights were amazing as expected but some of the dialogue parts were unnecessarily long. The first movie didn't have that problem because it was pretty much non-stop action. Ryuhei Matsuda's character was useless but he's probably going to have a bigger role in the third movie. 9/10

Merry is definitely in my Top 5 of Japanese bands. I love every album they've made, Modern Garde being the best. I could listen to it every day. 10/10, the rest are 8's and 9's. btw. does anyone remember what's that merii song with the saxophone (solo?)

Blue Ruin - Nice little indie revenge film. Cool cinematography. I'm digging that poster too, reminds me of True Detective opening visuals.

Why Don't You Play In Hell? Pretty entertaining over-the-top yakuza film. The last 30 minutes were a real gorefest.

Bron/Broen aka The Bridge - Season 1 After seeing True Detective (which is 10/10), I didn't think any murder mystery / crime drama could surpass it. Well, The Bridge is one of those series that can't. But it comes quite close. The show is about two detectives, one Danish and one Swedish who must work together to find a serial killer. The two main characters are likable and their interaction with each other is great and funny to watch, mostly because of the other detective's lack of social skills. Compared to TD, this is a lot faster paced and not as "deep" but if you like entertaining crime dramas, this is worth a watch. - 8/10

Finally started Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood and after 13 episodes the only "flaw" for me is the slapstick humor sometimes. But the characters are awesome and the story has been going forward every episode. No fillers. I hope that continues.

47 Ronin (2013) I have to admit I haven't seen the earlier movies about the tale of 47 Ronin although I probably should, because this one was horrible. They tried to add way too many different elements that are pointless to the story. Fantasy creatures, witchcraft and whatnot.I think I also saw an orc or troll or whatever in there. And on top of that, samurai Keanu Reeves. The movie would've been better without any of those, because they bring nothing to the movie. And why does every person speak english? The Last Samurai is a Hollywood movie and they spoke Japanese in it. The writing is also bad and the writers are treating viewers like idiots. Example: In a dialogue, if anybody mentions a Japanese word such as seppuku etc. they continue by explaining what that word means. Why would japanese person explain that to another japanese? Isn't that like saying "You must now commit a suicide. By the way, suicide means killing yourself." Only thing that kind of surprised me in a good way was the ending. And that's just because I wasn't very familiar with the original story. 5/10. I gave some extra points because visually beautiful setting, and I'm a weeaboo after all.

Snowpiercer - I've been waiting 1,5-2 years to see this with great expectations and it didn't disappoint me. This is the kind of film where every time you rewatch it, you notice new things. Beautiful cinematography and directing. There is still some "problems" in this film and I understand some people won't like this because of them but I loved it. 8,5/10 Btw, this is better than Kim Jee-Woon and Park Chan-Wook's english language debuts. Disconnect - To put it simply, this is like "Crash" but instead of racism it's about internet and communication. I love and hate this kind of movies because they make you realise what a shitty fucking place this world is. 7,5/10

    Dr. Strangelove - Masterpiece.

Convoy - Nostalgic movie for me. My brother had this on VHS a looooong time ago and I always watched it. Based on the country song "Convoy" which you can hear in GTA V, btw. I just recently found out that the director, Sam Peckinpah, also directed movies like Straw Dogs, Bullitt and Wild Bunch. Entertaining movie if you like trucks or road movies.

My Way and The Front Line are also Korean war films, I haven't seen them myself - yet. There Will Be Blood - Some people say that this is a boring film but I don't really think so. Daniel Day-Lewis's performance carries this movie till the end. Truly a one-man show. Lots of memorable scenes, like the baptism scene and the last scene, of course. Pornostar - This, on the other hand, really was a boring movie. I found the dialogue boring too. Not nearly as good as Toshiaki Toyoda's later films but there were already some hints of him being a great director.

9 Souls - From one of my favorite Asian directors, very well done mixture of comedy and drama about nine prisoners on the run. Fantastic soundtrack (as expected) and fantastic ending!
