Well, I'm not so good at it in english, so I have to copy references for that "the blast-beat generally comprises a repeated, sixteenth-note figure played at a very fast tempo, and divided uniformly among the bass drum, snare, and ride, crash, or hi-hat cymbal" (usually at 180 bpm or higher and using the rebound technique on the hands) For the gravity blast, yeah we really could break it down to the gravity roll (single handed stroke that invokes bouncing the stick at the drum edge) since I doubt Shinya could even do that... oh my god I can't believe how much I'm hating on him right now... Here's some demonstration for Gravity Roll Here's a short vid that explains the common blast beat and the rebound technique behind it There's a lot more on yt, so if you're interested just go there.

Since forever. Oh the word games What I meant was you don't mean the same if you either say gravity blast or blast beat. Gravity blast is a specific variation along many more blast beat variations. EDIT wow. Took me hell long to understand what you even meant haha
-
What? Now I'm totally confused Gravity Blasts??? Shinya??? That's like asking a toddler to draw a building plan for airplanes...and drive the airplanes afterwards. Gravity Blast is a variation of Blast Beat, it's not the same.
-
Wait..Blastbeat? What blastbeat? I happen to be a drummer in that kid of style spectrum and I can tell you Shinya never did any blast beat. Some snare whirling here and there and some 130 bpm double bass, but never actually blast beats. And thank god he didn't attempt to do it.

I'm searching like forever for a file of Nightmare's Zange demo in which the first song's track of Hitsugi is actually audible (Jigyaku niku hana). Has anyone stumbled across it by chance or possess it? Would love to know!

As I said, my case is closed. Go stress someone else's nerves. I ain't got no time for either your denial or your self-imposed standards on how music has to be discussed. You got your standards, I got mine. For you music is important, for me the artist who does it. That's how simple it is. And if the artist gets his material, choreo etc. written by sellout buisnessmen, then it is not authentic. Like in this case. It's that easy to understand. It can still be good music, but I can't take it or the artist serious. And in metal, that's a big thing for me. Case fucking closed

Phew. You're terribly naive. But go on living in your fantasy world of independent pop idols (at the age of 11-16) (female) (in JAPAN). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_idol This is a broad description, but it brings with it serious doubts about anything I said being entirely wrong. I know that wasn't your intention and you made good clarifications, but sadly the idol culture in japan is way more transparent than one j-pop fan would wish it to be. You can also take the numerous scandal reports into account, proving at least that these idols are forced to uphold an illusion, far from being upright or authentic--and thus being puppets of an industry in fact. So you see..my points are not as groundless as you perceive them. I may have stepped into too much detail on my assertions, but no one familiar with idol culture would seriously doubt what I said. And it doesn't help the fact that still MY perception on the matter is that this kind of music doesn't uphold the spirit of metal. Call it purified, call it what you want. This is my view on it and I made it clear from my 1st comment on. And as I said, if you seriously have the guts to compare pop idol machinery with general/regular metal management, then there is no ground for discussion. As to your pop music description..gosh you're a smartass. Creating an issue where there isn't one. I know full well what falls under the category of "pop", but you're not going to win any prize if you refer to rock or metal acts generally as "pop". Likewise no one would think of anything else than pop music when I say pop music.
-
Yes, actually! My comment was more focused on the mere selection of the composition parts, and his example. Of course I know it's much more powerchord work than Dragonforce, but the soloing comes pretty close to it.
-
Oehm. Read my comment? I could add that you asserted I don't like little girls fronting metal, which is not true. If they were sincere, authentic artists (as it is usual in the genre they're appointed to) it would be different. But as such, as mere puppets to a pop idol industry that takes about every decision they ever have to take either in the studio, on stage or in public...no.
-
Well, I don't see why it should in the first place. There's nothing to complain about the composition parts themselves, they're fine. However you should try not to assert or compare things in a way that comes off even more ridiculous. I stated very clearly that TO ME there is more in music than famewhoring and pure instrumentals made to attract people (in addition to the fact that I find dependent, inside-out controlled artists to be an insult to metal). That was supposed to be what I was getting at in my comment, nothing else. And if you go to the point of comparing pop idol machinery to ANY other metal artist management in any way (okay, VK may be pretty close in many cases), then we really don't have anything to talk about, bud. Because this is rrrridiculous case closed To your wish: Nope. Thanks. PS: But I got a good song text already: "Baby I wanna be with you uh uh Huuuuh Baby I give it all to you uh uh Yaaaayyy" repeat that with overtuned vocoders for ~3 minutes, put it in repetitive synthies and voilah there's your new pop sensation. Ok but back to topic.. sry for all you pop fans btw.

Oh boy....humanity is so predictable. A I really the only one who can't do anything with this fake idol crap? There's a pop label forcing these girls into groups, with no regards of their actual knowledge about anything they will do. BABYMETAL is a fabricated pop group supported by heavy guitars. No more. What is great about this? Oh wow they're awesome...besides the fact that none of them had any idea of metal when they started out. How difficult is it to do this kind of thing if the only thing you have to do yourself is hitting the right tone? Like already said, it's PURE sellout. All about it. Cute little girls doing metal, random music, random music videos, super random member names. (...)METAL, (...)METAL and (...)METAL, really??? These band photos make me sick, too. As if these encounters with Kerry King and co. "just happened" like that. Is it still great to imagine such a meeting if you know deep inside that also this was fabricated all through? If this is what VK is trying to do since 2007, then I'm damn glad letting it go. At least to me there's more to music than pure catchiness and famewhoring. And BABYMETAL really kill the idea of metal. Luckily they're all 16 soon and this project will most likely be abandoned to make room for something else.. maybe collabo with kiaryu pamyu pamyu or whatever >> on top of that these tracks are so wildly creative, new and fresh, but apparently only the concept of a selling-machine? u-huh, because death-core-powermetal tracks about chocolate with reggae parts and dragonforce guitar-solos are a failproof combination for big bucks. sure thing...<< Every little idiot nowadays is able to write catchy melodies. Especially in pop genre, which it basically is. Also "wildly creative".. well. What is actually creative about it? It's all been done before by similar or the same pop agencies. Just look at the PonPonPon video. It's essencially the same. The more crazy the more attention it will get. It is predictable, and it's not like there are Sigh-like avantgarde melodies in BABYMETAL. Like you said, Dragonforce meets mainstream pop/reggae. Not really a risk taken.

I could never get into Gazette, especially their older releases sound so random and forced. Nightmare got me into the scene and I absolutely enjoy their material up to the Lost In Blue Single. Great instrumentals, cocky vocals etc. Even if I absolutely despise about 80% of their newer material and..Yomi. I still don't understand the ones complaining about Yomi while rooting for Ruki. That balls cut whiny voice is better in what way actually?
-
Yes, that's a thing I forgot (as well as logging out ).. Yomi is officially not listenable anymore. Even for me, and I used to be and the forefront of defending him. Someone should just give him back his balls.

Oh boy. To say it in the words of the infamous LA Beast: "I don't feel well.. I think I might throw up." This single is as half-assed as it could possibly be. The title track is weak as usual. A generous rock song without any risks taken.. and I mean really none. 3/10 The B- Side is a bit stronger, again as usual Nightmare strike with a well worked out ballad.. just failing to be interesting enough or having any kind of climax. 5/10 And what the hell is that last song? Were they trying to recreate Gianism San for 2-year-olds, while being on every possible drug there is? If you think only that title is stupid as fuck, you're fatally wrong! 0/10 and I don't want to listen to that EVER AGAIN!!! Any other opinions?

Not an anime, but this Stephen King inspired series "The Dead Zone". And I'd say I have never seen a better series to convert into anime

Obviously Miko - exist trace

I'm not so much into remixes, but some of them sound pretty fine (NOT the symphonic overlays). Love the idea having downy remixing Shitataru.# They should really stop with that symphonic thing. They're not Dimmu Borgir (not even Matenrou or Versailles, urgh).. and I'm getting more and more worried about the upcoming album....
-
I only know Dark Tranquility from these. 1. Deadlock - More Tragedies To Come 2. MALICE MIZER - ヴェル・エール~空白の瞬間の中で~ 3. Eminem - Almost Famous 4. Opeth - When 5. Pagan's Mind - The Prophesy Of Pleiades 5. Jack Slater - Omniscience 6. Birdman & Lil Wayne - Stuntin Like My Daddy 7. Sigh - The Knell 8. Dimmu Borgir - Broderskapets RIng 9. ナイトメア - レゾンデートル 10. 9goats Black Out - Canaria opeth for me

MALICE MIZER - エーゲ海に捧ぐ So much R+ lately lol. Weak list, so I just go with Du Hast. Greatest lyrics ever. *EDIT Gorillaz and Lil Wayne are also pretty good I guess.
