Yesss! I've already started compiling movies for the lists but unfortunately neither one will be 10, only around 5-7 each maybe. I'm not too well-versed in '70s or '60s horror.

Well that was different. Kinda diggin' it tho, I guess.

Yayyy Grieva, they're one of my favorites from the newer bands~ I was a bit skeptical at first when hearing Dead[en]D but then came the fun stuff and I was completely sold. I love how they evoke that turn-of-the-century DEG-and-related-acts style while having a nice modern production at the same time. They also seemed to be moving away from those direct references on their last album, which was quite a big beast -- more consistent in atmosphere imo, but less standout tracks than the 1st one. They look like they make quite a live show, so hopefully they'll tour overseas sometime too (or just release more live material, heh).

^ Haha, yeah, that would have been my other guess. xD

lol, this sounds kinda awkward so far. Hoping there'll be some interesting stuff on there, not just snoozy artistic noodlings.

Went yesterday to see Laibach and they were awesomeeee~ One of the coolest gigs I've been to in a long time. It was held inside Budapest's famous A38 ship, so the industrial atmosphere was in full swing, heh. They brought some cool visuals too (screens and nice lighting arrangements) and the live drums really upped the power of the songs. It's really characteristic of their poker-face humor how there wasn't any real MC between songs, only the prerecorded voice of the frontman robotically saying stuff like "thank you. you are the best" etc. Oh, and they divided their program into 2 segments, separated by a 15-minute "intermission" (band walks off stage, the word "intermezzo" and a countdown appearing on screen, light waltz music begins), it was...interesting. xDDD Everything was awesome, they played all or most of the new album and a great bunch of classic/well-known songs. The beginning: Another pretty cool one:

Prog/art-rock band Napokon has their new album up for free or however much you wanna pay on Bandcamp. Their sound reminds me of a mashup of '90s grunge, elements of Tool and lots of atmospheric feeling, quite nice. http://napokon.bandcamp.com/album/borders-of-babylon Also, "progressive indie"/post-rockish band The Hostages Went Home (that name, love it) has their new one up there, as well as all their previous releases. Nice female-fronted stuff. http://thehostageswenthome.bandcamp.com/album/naturalies

Android of Notre Dame - Well, this was a pretty pointless but at least short (55 mins) installment in the Guinea Pig film series. Had some neat cyberpunk visuals tho (more of that typical Japanese junk aesthetic, not so much the Western hi-tech) and some gorey bits. Overall kinda mediocre.

New 1349 track... kinda by-the-numbers but not bad.

^ It was nice to read your experiences... I'm jealous of you seeing Suspiria on the big screen!! Recently I finally had the opportunity to watch Child's Play (somehow only ever saw like 20 mins from part 2 or something) with a friend who recommended we watch it no less! (he's not that into horror, mind you) It was a nice, funny flick with some intentionally and unintentionally lulzy moments. I suspect we're gonna watch the rest in the future too, some fun moments to come maybe.

Attack the Block - Yeah, finally saw it, heh. It was an okay/fun movie with some epic bits, nothing more, nothing less.

Watchin' it & lovin' it! Can't wait for the next ep, it's always so exciting~

Rabies - Goddamn. Seriously tight and awesome horror/thriller (more on the thriller side) from the duo that later directed Big Bad Wolves. Why aren't these Isreali dudes popular yet?? This was their first movie, BBW their second, both real good but maybe I like this one better. It just keeps pounding you with one surprise after the other, so you really won't know how the whole thing will wrap up. A constant mixture of "oh god" and "lmao I can't believe this." Mad respect.

Only Lovers Left Alive - Excellent romantic vampire flick with Tom Hiddleston and the always wonderful Tilda Swinton (and yay for John Hurt). It's not how you'd expect a "romantic vampire" film to be, especially these days I guess, heh. Smooth, contemplative and dreamy... plus, the music was just absolutely amazing, so fitting to the whole world view of the characters (it's no surprise it got a soundtrack award at Cannes). Highly recommended.
