That has to be from a former bandmember, since it looks like the venue footage and those are never sold or given out, sadly. Its a shame, good history that gets lost this way all the time.

Vulgar was released in 2003, haha, but I think he referred to how back in the day, OBSCURE was usually the first PV you showed people, not when it came out.

Ah, I was working on making this thread. To be honest, I think the option to internationalize the news section should be included as well. Either 1. a Visual (international) news subforum. 2. Just deciding that allowing select acts with clear ties to the visual scene in the news section as it is already. If this freedom gets abused by sharing news about things with no clear relation to the scene the rules could be changed again. 3. Keeping things as is. Honestly, I think the international scene is getting a few more professional acts out there, and regardless if it's something I like to listen to or not, I think they might have an audience here, and that's why I think it should be up to the users to decide on what to do with them.

We're not grouping by race though, we are grouping based on where the bands are located/have their main activities. Which is why we agreed for example that DISREIGN (whatever happened to them) would be allowed in the J-Rock forum as their base of operations is in Japan. If we were grouping by race we'd have all kinds of trouble trying to determine racial composition of bands, and I know most of us staff would rather not become hobby eugenicists on the account of keeping the Japanese Rock scene racially pure. We said the same to the people who, as opposed of your opinion, demanded that we remove bands with one or more foreign members from the VK section entirely. The question was raised a while ago and it was this conclusion we came to as a team, but I on a personal level would be open to a Visual (International) sub-forum to differentiate from the other foreign acts. More and more proficient musicians overseas are starting to identify with the term so I could see there being an eventual demand for one.

I'm interested to know where they got the notion of being a "visual" band from, they mostly look like any other western -core guys.

Topic moved to international section since it's not a Japanese band, still, it's always nice to see the genre get more international bands who actually know how to play their instruments.

Start from the beginning and work your way forward. It's a time investment but it's interesting to follow the bands evolution and as a new listener you have a chance to do it much faster than the rest of us could.

Nice to see one of my old heroes back in the VK game, very unexpected. I don't know what to expect from the band itself though since I don't know his new band mates at all, but I'm cautiously optimistic, hoping for it to last a while this time around. Also, he's clearly using the name "狂太郎" on his twitter which reads out to Kyotaro. KYO is just a shortened version of it for the twitter handle I assume.

I prefer nagoya kei I'm a big fan of Dir en grey.
-
It was a band made up of Zi:Kill roadies if my memory serves me right. Also, Dir en grey got their name from Kamijo according to most sources, he made them believe that Dir en grey meant silver coin. If I remember correctly someone (Shinya?) revealed this a while back conclusively. They played gigs together back in the La:Sadie's days and were good friends at the time. Also, this is kind of off topic, so please get back on track with regards to unusual and unnecessary symbols in band names.

Is that the Brazilian way of replacing a band member?
-
If Ash gets the vestige remake treatment I'd be casually optimistic. But given how they butchered my other favorite track Unknown...Despair...a Lost, my first reaction was still utter dread upon seeing this. I'll reserve judgement until after we've gotten some samples at least.

No one has mentioned Yaminade yet? Amateurs. (EDIT: Spoke too soon, seems like Filth_y knows what's up. Props.) On a more serious note, I feel like the term is getting so wide in this thread that almost any heavy band could qualify. In my mind Brutal Kei™ was always simple, hard-hitting, nu metal based VK from the mid-2000s. Since1889s track HERO is the archetypical Brutal Kei™ tune in my mind. At least I don't associate modern Deathcore acts like Nocturnal Bloodlust etc. with the term at all.

To all VK fans in Germany - on Friday I'm DJing Visual Kei at the Kabuki RockStyle party in Bochum. Make sure to be there to listen to some awesome music and talk to me!

You are solely responsible for the situation that occured. You constantly try to bait other members into arguments by making unsubstantiated "edgy"/inflammatory claims and then when someone calls you out on argumentative fallacies whenever you try to tread beyond the purely subjective, you either create straw men to fight against or whine about the "tone" in the discussion, a tone you very much set the standard for when needlessly attacking other members on their subjective taste, like or dislike of a certain song. Not only do you monopolize threads and antagonize people who don't agree with you, when you're done digging your own grave you have the nerve to call me out for not throwing you a rope and dragging you out of it. There's a reason why the reply got so many likes, perhaps you should reflect on your own actions on this forum a bit and how you present yourself here. Making a new account isn't much use when you keep falling back into the same patterns. Finally, don't tell me how I should and shouldn't do my job. The team keeps an eye on all threads and we don't take kindly to being told by others what actions to take. If you have a problem, use the report function or PM one of us.

I remember sometime before the album came out, roughly late 2006 I would say, that there had been a of leak of 4-5 songs in pre-production quality through some form of security breach in their internal servers. Apparently only a small handful of people got their hands on it though, and I never did, so I can't say for certain and it was over ten years ago, but those are my recollections of what I heard at the time. I know that @Furik was around at Batsu at the same time so maybe he remembers something about it too?

The title of the gig was: 本当にこれでいいんですね ハイ あなたは何人目ですか 一人目です 僕は数え切れない子供を殺しています あなたは許せますか ・・・・・もう一度聞きます 本当にこれでいいんですね ハイ 用意はいいですか ハイ では始めましょう And the date was: 12月18日 大阪城ホール You could just look at their OHP for this information, all tour titles are displayed there. Not sure where the idea that it should be in English came from.

It's good that he's still alive, even though I haven't been interested in anything he's done since WERKMARE. Time to reform the band, the others aren't doing anything of note anyway.
-
They really should just have done a complete remaster of Withering to death. The contrast is quite stark because of the terrible muddy production the original has. Some of the tracks, such as the GAUZE ones, I can't notice any quality improvement whatsoever on.

I don't think you could compare the situations since in terms of popularity in Japan they're on completely different levels. That said, since the bands have been through several vocal changes, I do think it would be possible if the rest of the line-up were on board with getting another vocalist. From what I understand though, the reason is that Yu~ki doesn't want to/isn't able to do band activity full time, and Mana doesn't want to do it without him. Something like that.

To be fair, their roadies are pretty famous nowadays, I think Kamijo could do a decent job with some MM material. If I miraculously manage to gather some cash I'll go for sure.

I attended the Androgynos lives and I think he sounded fine on the spot. And so I would say about almost every one of the 40+ lives of theirs I've been to since 2014. Can only bring to memory a few occasions where it's left something to be desired. Kyo has had his periods of terrible live performances, but aside from the off day they're generally in the past now. But sure, since the performance requires so much of him, it's more noticeable when something is ailing him compared to vocalists who perform in a more comfortable range, I won't deny that, which is why it can be a bit of a gamble. The last couple of years have been his peak as far as vocal performance live is concerned, in my opinion.
