I think I'm finally into a title track. it's kind of messed up and is straight forward at the same time. after a couple of proper listens I ended up thinking it's a weird song. but then again, each time I hear anything new from the guys I feel the same. I didn't dig Rinkaku, but this one will definitely enter my daily car playlist.
except for a chorus part which grabbed everyone's attention a lot, my personal highlight of this song is Touru's very first mumbling part in it. I don't know the lyrics but the thing is really catchy. I expected to hear this part somewhere in the middle but DIR EN GREY tends to break the rules so...
anyways, SUSTAIN THE UNTRUTH is a great number. I want an album like this: straight forward.
speaking of Ruten No Tou, I've never really liked it. this acoustic version is no difference. and mixing high pitched vocal parts with even very aggressive but still acoustic guitar sounds weird. thank you, guys, but no.
live track is just another live track. nothing special. and I don't like the song.
overall 7/10.
-
funny enough, this video only left one question: what's with the Unraveling video?
-
that's a weird track.
sounds to me straight forward and messed up at the same time.
will definitely try to dig.
-
waaaay too cute.
-
Okami Records will release SUSTAIN THE UNTRUTH in Europe as download / stream on the same date.
-
I guess he means the whole thing went really creepy. with guitar tuning and Touru's vocals going down and under and stuff.

MORE Twitter reports."Completely different from DIR EN GREY. The impression was closer to Zenryaku’s ‘Mama’ atmosphere"."As expected, sukekiyo was Kyo’s band. Different style from DIR but so cool. The ethnic music-like feeling was great"."When the first song ended, everyone shouted ‘Kyoooo!! Kyooo!!’, he held his finger to his lips ‘Shhhh…’ to silence the screams, and then the second song started". -
band's first release is an EP titled 'The Daemon's Cutlery' worth ¥1890. no idea about the tracklisting though.
Touru himself did the cover art.

just to make it clear. Sukekiyo now may be officially counted as Touru's solo project.
they played a show and someone kind enough on Tumboner has collected live reports on Twitter.
so, basically it was like this.
Tooru is now again blond, he was wearing a white leather jacket. Sukekiyo lineup features four more people which were not introduced to the audience.
it was DIR EN GREY staff preparing the set for Sukekiyo. I say that's logical.
the band played three songs, all in minor key. an SE intro was a piano.
the second track was played on an acoustic guitar, an upright bass and drums and something which could be recognized as violin (reporter wasn't sure).
the third track was again an acoustic guitar and a man who played violin on an electric guitar.
all songs got violent towards the second part with Tooru singing in a heavy falsetto, they felt somehow different from DIR EN GREY.
after finishing the songs Tooru said 'thank you' in a small voice and left. Shinya and Die were in the audience.
I hope that was any useful.
I think Sukekyo would be a better name for the band.

agreed. it's like if it were even 30 seconds for Maximum The Hormone.
