  1. Is ONLY YOU a cover of that BOØWY song by any chance? Probably not but... that certainly would have been awesome. Elise no Tameni sounds awesome. They're still going strong!

I could only sit through that music when I'm in a coma... though I doubt that would be helpful in the recovery process. Apparently a girl verbally and physically assaulted him during a signing session after the concert in The Netherlands. Saying something along the lines of how Kiwiman ruined her favorite band. After the incident the band had some arguments with eachother as well, if I have to believe what I read. I'm not sure how reliable the source is, it's a "I heard this from him who heard that from her" kind of thing. I read it on another forum. It certainly wouldn't surprise me if the stories are true and Kiwamu's attitude is that terrible. I'm not saying that bashing him (literally!) at his own concert is a good idea though. One should be more civilized and not go as far as that.
  3. I get the point and it might seem like a smart marketing move at first, but there are two things I'm really worried about when used games become... useless. First, say in 10 years from now, if you want to discover some older games or re-play games of which you lost the original copy, you'd have to own a brand new copy not yet signed to a particular console! Now where would you find that? They would become extinct or you'd have to go through a LOT of trouble. Of course the game might be available as a paid download, but I'm sure they'll eventually drop many titles simply because they're too old and few people buy them. So your only hope remains a physical copy. Second and most importantly (to me), what if "John" wants to lends a certain new game to "Jane" so she can give it a trial run. What's the harm in that? Jane might even like the game so much she'll eventually buy her own copy. But this would become impossible if they decided only one system could run that copy. Of course Jane could come over to John's house and play it there, but that's not always the most convenient option. I do not like this idea at all. I hope it remains a rumor and won't become reality.

It seems you're alright with calling someone an idiot who makes "dumb-ass statements" while completely missing the point yourself (which I thought was pretty clear) and piling up a list of either irrelevant or plain ignorant things yourself. And that's funny because you brought the "think twice" thing. Another funny part is when you claim to be "one of the few people who do explore and discover new/interesting music" and that nothing influences your taste. Everyone is influenced by everything. Perhaps denying this makes you look... independent? And therefore a more passionate music listener in your mind? If that's what you're aiming for... I don't know. That would explain your attitude though! Well, at least it's clear to me that you're not capable of understanding that some things might not be clear to you. One day you'll suddenly realize you don't have a long "to-be-released" list anymore. That will be at the same moment when you realize why it could withhold one from enjoying music... more than words could.

BAWWW...LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE'S JELLY You're an idiot. Just because you don't have shit to look forward to, don't go insulting people who are passionate enough about music to be able to construct lists like that. You know what I said is true, or at least made you think, or you wouldn't react so aggressively. I would argue that someone who is truly passionate about music doesn't make lists for future releases at all! They explore instead, they're actively looking for music they can listen to NOW. Or listen to music they already know, but love. Making checklists is the exact opposite: passive waiting. Let's be honest, if someone listens to let's say 20 albums they have on a checklist for a certain month, and the next month they do just the same, how will they have time to enjoy the music of last month? And how many albums will they actually remember at the end of the year? It's the strange desire to always be up-to-date with new releases, while forgetting to enjoy what they actually got. You may think I'm an idiot, but I'm not sure what that makes you.

New albums from Marilyn Manson and Golden Earring and anything by Shiina Ringo, LUNA SEA, just whatever comes our way. I don't see how making a huge list with 20+ cds all ordered on release dates and stuff is doing anyone any good. When you arrive at that point you know that music has turned into a disposable item for you.

I like their Vow Wow phase the most. I think I've heard all of their albums from that era (6 if I'm correct?). Great band indeed. And it's quite annoying some stupid rapper uses the name 'Bow Wow' too. Makes it harder to look for the 'real' Bow Wow...

Like I said, he's not going to get any new fans this way.

Album cover looks okay. The performance with Rammstein was just odd. I don't really like Rammstein but thankfully you didn't hear their influence much. The main thing is that they played in front of the wrong audience... on a show they really should have avoided. It's not like he's going to get more fans or something from an event like that. The whole thing was out of place.
  10. Des

He has to be more consistant though... At a concert he can sound terrible in one song but then in the next song he nails it.

The entire anti-smoking mafia may die in a fire for all I care. "Look at me, I'm such a responsible and nice person by warning other people for the dangers of their habits! They already know the risks of course, but I still need to show the world how terrible smokers are and how good I am!" And I don't even smoke.

8 new songs is a fair amount if none of them are lazy intro's, bridges, etc.
  13. Des

I'm afraid this is a ordinary case of "when you've heard 30 seconds, you've heard it all". Of course there's a small chance the full cd will actually be listenable, and I'll revise my opinion when that happens. But I wonder how anyone can still have faith in this band after their last releases and expect something good after this lazy preview.
  14. Des

That preview makes me yawn. Master of Romance, Gain and the Ice Romancer single (some pretty good b-sides on there) were this band's highlights for me. Their latest stuff is mostly forgettable. This one is no exception. I wonder how much effort went into making this. If any at all...

Yes, that's pretty much how it is. When you've seen the commercial, you've seen the entire film. I sat throughout the entire thing wondering where they wanted to go with it. The characters (which include a few recognizable actors but they couldn't save it either) acted like all the events were dead serious. However, most events are badly explained or make no sense at all, which make the dialogues rather laughable. Everything's shoved in your face as if the viewer just has to deal with it before it quickly switches to a way-too-long action scene to try and cover up the empty plot. So in the end it just became another CGI showcase with no content at all. My last two cinema visits were pretty terrible (the other was War Horse). I hope this won't become a trend.

John Carter Not my choice to watch in the cinema, but I went along. It's not like there's anything else playing right now anyway... So, I didn't expect much of this film but it managed to surprise me! This is possibly even worse than Avatar (the comparison is easily made). EVERYTHING about this is ridiculous. The pathetic story may be written a century ago, but that's no excuse to make such a terrible picture out of it. Why did they even attempt this? Beats me. 1/10
  17. Wow, I didn't see this coming! The last Creature Creature album was fantastic. Looking forward to this as well. Morrie.. one of the greatest in Japanese rock music.

One of the monsters in this game is called 'Deathgaze'. It looks fierce but it sucks. Coincidence? (; Anyway, I'm completely done with this game. It's way too easy, too cheesy and the only reason someone could spend over 30 hours on this is when you want to get some of those "secret endings". But they're not worth your time either. There's nothing even remotely challenging or fun about those little assignments you need to do for those endings. Except a few little puzzles... but like everything else: too easy and therefore only take a few minutes. The Sazh DLC is extremely bad too, I feel bad for anyone who bought it... even though it's only €4, because it's not worth a penny. Hopefully they'll redeem themselves with the Versus game. Or the X remake/remaster or whatever that's going to be.

Fantastic news! It must've been really hard to create something as great as Hymn to the Immortal Wind, but I bet they'll surprise us.

    What the hell...

The Public Enemy The oldest movie I've seen so far, it dates back from 1931. It's mostly about the rise and fall of two childhood friends who wanted to become "gangsters". There are several memorable scenes in this. Including the scene where what appears to be a gay tailor trying to flirt with one of the main characters while measuring his body proportions... "such a muscle!". I didn't expect to see that in a movie from that era. It was very enjoyable. I can imagine this movie has been quite an inspiration for many gangster movies that followed later. 8/10

Saw Due Date last night. Most modern comedy movies are full of cliches, bad acting and a storyline as thin as air, which is why I usually can't stand them. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this one. At least, for about half of it. It's indeed full of cliches and features a storyline as thin as air, but stars two excellent actors! Now that's something you don't see very often in a movie like this. Especially Zach Galifianakis (Ethan in the movie) did a wonderful job. However, it does make me wonder if he can do anything else apart from this role, because he played the exact same guy in The Hangover. He seems more like a one tricky pony to me. If he continues like this he'll be a bore sooner or later. Anyway... he was great in this movie and that's what counts now. There are some disastrous bad and/or unnecessary moments (jokes) in this movie but the lead actors just make it worth your time. I'd give a 6/10 if I had to rate this.

Y U NO LIKE MASQUERADE? Maybe because that song was a crappy recycle project? One of the most boring things they have done so far. Almost the entire album Holy Grail was disappointing. However, I guess they had enough time to think of new stuff. So... there's hope!

In cinema: War Horse Probably the worst movie I've seen since Avatar. It's terrible in every way. There was only 1 scene in the entire film which I thought was nicely done. Do not waste your time and/or money on this one. At home: Leave Her to Heaven (1945) A much better movie. The events happen a bit slow at times but build up to a few surprises. Good acting. It's filmed in technicolor... which is quite surprising for a "dark" storyline such as this back in the 40's. The color in this movie is quite pretty too. Gene Tierney's blue eyes are one of the most beautiful things you'll ever see. That moment when you realize quite a lot of old movies (incl. black and white) are more visually appealing than most movies these days. Excellent movie! I was fortunate enough to see that movie last year in cinema as a special one-time event to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the movie in The Netherlands (it's from 1975 but only released in The Netherlands a year later... like so many movies). It was great to see a quality classic like that on the big screen. Wish they'd do these more often. But they don't... because not enough people are interested. Also...

I'm only watching Californication right now. Seen all episodes so far, waiting for a new one. Great series! There just isn't any other series out there that grabs my attention, besides the occasional CSI episodes. Sometimes NCIS too. But I don't really follow those. I just watch random episodes when there's only shit on all other channels and I'm too lazy/tired to plug in my external HD and watch something else.
