Discuss this point in the Nega topic.

Niku got a reaction from nullmoon in ex-NEGA Vo.儿-JIN- new band "THE BLACK SWAN" has formed
Wait, what?
I just, like, I seriously just am incapable of even understanding the logic behind this statement...

I have no idea why you're attempting to defend an overrated no1curr band with a talent absent vocalist by putting other vk fans down.
for all good that VK sometimes has to offer, nega brought nothing in this regard.

Niku reacted to Mr Bacon in ex-NEGA Vo.儿-JIN- new band "THE BLACK SWAN" has formed
If he gets some good instrumentalists around him this time, at least it'll be a good band with a bad vocalist. That's a step up from Nega.

If you reduce all conversation to "opinions", then what's the point of even talking? Share your opinion, even if it's unpopular. It's yours and someone will always read it.

Niku reacted to kai_desu in Deadeyes-star.com is Live!
DS is finally live! We're a bit exhausted at the moment as we've been finalizing a lot of things today in anticipation of the launch. So forgive me for not having much to say right now!
If you'd like to read more, we have a fairly detailed post of what's coming up next in development here: http://deadeyes-star.com/blog/2013/12/introduction-to-deadeyesstar-1
I'd also like to introduce our staff! Be sure to give them some love!

Niku reacted to Wonrei in mysterious band "sukekiyo"
These guys are going to open for sugizo on his solo tour and are also playing Countdown japan. No member information. With the events they are going to play, I bet they're probably all famous.
They have an EP announced, called "the daemon's cutlery"
http://sukekiyo-official.jp
Personal guess: The website definitely resembles the kyo(Dir en grey) solo project website, may be Dir en grey related

Niku reacted to Pandabear in Post your "UNPOPULAR" music opinions!
Unpopular opinion #457 I don’t think Deluhi is/was that great of a band. I don’t get all the hype surrounding their music. I think they had some okay/good songs which I enjoyed, I just don’t get all the praise the band gets, especially on this forum. Is it because they were a fairly decent vk band and the majority of other vk bands were so crappy that they made Deluhi sound amazing by comparison and lead to their music being overhyped? I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the case, which I believe also happened when Mejibary came along. Although Mejibary have been getting better.
Anyway, Leda was probably the best part of Deluhi and he definitely raised the bar for other vk guitarists, but I find the band to just be decent. They never put out anything amazing or what I would expect from advanced players/composers to put out. I feel the parts were greater than its sum when it comes to this band. So yeah, I can’t share the OMG Deluhi was so amazing they should get back together mentality. -

Niku reacted to DogManX in Post your "UNPOPULAR" music opinions!
Kaoru actually had a long extinct trilobite on his head. It was like the most awesome visual kei costume I've ever seen.
And you're not all rotten and saggy if you are 40. Sure if you spend your life staring at VK booklets your sense of reality gets distorted it seems.

Niku reacted to Zeus in dr.tarantula will conditionally disband
Does any band ever disband after a conditional disband notice was placed out or do they always manage to get "just enough people" to struggle on? Does it even matter if they don't get to that number, as long as they were reasonably close? I couldn't see this band quitting if only 99 people showed up.
I guess I just don't understand this marketing tactic.

Niku reacted to DogManX in Miyavi will be in upcoming Hollywood film "Unbroken"
so what will he do on screen? acting super-cool like he always does? "hey look i'm miyavi, i'm crossing my fingers how neat is that masafruckers?" the only thing he got for acting is a face, the rest always ends up terribly embarassing when he's presenting himself to western people.
sry, just wanted to.. even up the vibe a bit..

Niku reacted to Kaye in girugamesh Vo. new band "REDMAN" new maxi single "Challenge the GAME" release
What has Korn to do with any of this? If he's turned to lead the band, fine, but Satoshi hasn't as far as I'm aware. Shuu is the actual leader, and always takes word. Ryo is the one with the most input on music (and it's him who's crazy about all the electro, and yes, the nu metal sound)
Satoshi's vocals have been getting better through the years and while he's really great live, they've just pulled the production way too flat on their stuff before the singles and the latest one. There's no dynamics. No energy. Whether or not that was Giru's intention, or a twist put on it by their label, I don't think we can say a lot on that.
Giru has always said they'll make the music they'll want to make, and will keep on going. For any of us to yell at them, saying they have to go back to an older sound, that's just ridiculous. Yes, I have always liked them, and I like them even now. (Go was a disaster though, I admit) But bands evolve or bands change.
If anything, look at the bands they've been hanging around for the past year. Do you see any VK inbetween? Coldrain, MFS, OOR, SiM, and the whole lot. Isn't it
fairly clear their sound has shifted and their interests too?
To stay on topic: REDMAN seems interesting because all the members that are in the band with Satoshi are of a totally different scene as those the band is known to hang around in. I'm really curious for the single.
