maybe i can recommend some songs if you tell me the vistlip songs you like haha. Chimera was actually my favorite single from them in the last 4 years or something like that...

It's not that I didn't necessarily like Chimera. My musical tastes changed around that time and then after enough time had passed, it just seemed like so much work to catch up with all the bands I lost track of. I do miss vistlip though.

Anyway, my top five favorite songs of theirs are Lion Heart, Strawberry Butterfly, Black Tail, Princess Dizzy and Sindra. I think I remember liking the song that was coupled with Artist but I can't remember the name of it. Something about a fish, I think? Does that help you make any suggestions?

They are definitely reliable, but the shipping cost is a bit high as others mentioned. What some of my friends do is shipping to tenso address and when they have more items they ship it to their address abroad.

Customs really depend on the value of your order and your country, not on the shop.

Thanks, that makes me feel a lot better knowing they are pretty reliable. Now I can be excited instead of worried!

That's crazy. Are they doing DHL or Fedex with those shipping fee  like Amazon JP does? But Amazon still have lower shipping cost than that tho!

EMS so at least it's tracked. I think Amazon has a big coroporate deal with DHL based on volume to get their prices so low though.

I was pretty excited when I found out they do ship overseas, but then when I was making some purchases, the shipping was 746 yen (i think), so that was cool.

Then after the purchase, I learned that it turns out that that was just shipping TO Japan and because I said I was from the US while creating my account, I got an email from a staff member saying that the overseas shipping was much higher - in fact it was 5000 yen (~50 USD) for shipping in North America, 5100 yen (~51 USD) in Europe. Ridiculous. Even more so that they had to email me instead of the actual cost actually being displayed on the receipt during checkout. Of course I had to cancel my order.

I highly suggest using a shopping service instead, like FromJapan or ShoppingMallJapan.

Hmm, I'm not terribly worried about the shipping fee, since using a shopping service would also be fairly pricey (double shipping, bank transfer if applicable, plus the service's fee) and would also take much longer to get here, and I'm not a patient person! I was more concerned about reliability. I don't mind forking over the dough for my boys, as long as I get what I paid for. But thanks for sharing your experiences!

  5. Has anyone around here ordered from Galaxy Broad Shop and shipped overseas? It's the only place you can get the deluxe version of BugLug's new single, so I went ahead and ordered it, but now I'm worried something might go wrong. Has anyone had any experience with this shop? Are they reliable, how long did shipping take, did you have to pay customs, etc? I'm sure I'm just being paranoid, but I'm a worrier my profession.

This is free from so many of the recording/mixing techniques commonly expected with 2010's VK that I generally just find uninteresting and emotionally flat. I really liked this song because the drums sounded natural and roomy. They aren't triggering synthetic feeling kick and snare samples and it hasn't been compressed to shit. The mix in general just sounds super pleasant, in part because it hasn't been squashed in a number of ways for teh loudness!!! Production wise, I find this waaaay more similar to how late 90s emo and post-rock sounded then anything visual kei in the last decade and I really love that.

Ah yes, this is what I meant by "grown up sound". I just didn't know how to put my thoughts into proper words. Thank you for that!

Yeah it feels like every band I start to like ends up disbanding too T_T I'm glad you like them! And yes! You should def keep listening to them even after they disband!

Honestly, out of my top 10 favorite bands, only two are still active. I've heard several people saying the same thing. It feels like a losing battle sometimes!

  8. Not bad! Kind of a grown up sound. I really like their look.

I feel compelled to listen to them just because of their name. Where I live used to be Sioux Indian land, and everything around here is called Sioux: Sioux Falls, Sioux City, Sioux Center, Big Sioux River, Little Sioux River, etc...

  9. I'm always late to the party! Every time I get interested in a band, I find out they're disbanding. I just got the Resistar Chigaihouken 2017 DVD and while normally I never pay much attention to the Riostar bands, I noticed when watching it that Dangan and LEZARD were both sounding really good. It's great to hear how well loved they are. I guess I'll have to listen to them in retrospect.

  10. None? My range is so limited, and all the vocalists either sing too low or too high. I just sound like a croaky frog when I try. Not that that stops me. I can usually get out most of Lareine's Blue Romance, but not when anyone is around to hear.

  11. Has it really been ten years already? I liked them since the beginning, but I lost interest around Chimera. I feel guilty because they were one of my favorites for so long. Ten years, huh? Maybe I'll try to pick them up again. Anyone, what's their best release after Chimera?

And once I started plaing j-pop out loud the answer changed to "the languare REALLY disturbs me". Kind of a bummer that after 8 years the language is still an issue for my own mother, but meh.

Wow, how can the language itself disturb someone? I seriously don't understand this.

  13. Reading through these responses is kind of depressing. It seems we've all had bad reactions when introducing other people to VK. I've gotten so tired of standing there while people insult what I love just because they can't or won't understand it, that I just don't talk about it with other people anymore. If anyone asks what I listen to, I just tell them symphonic metal or symphonic rock, since that's the area of VK I listen to the most. Frankly, it's not really their business what I listen to anyway.

  14. Nightmare did a terrifying version of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer that still gives me bad dreams. Can't find it on YouTube though, and everything else I can think of is already listed, but I really hate to come to the party empty handed, so here's some Kishidan. Do they count? They're not quite VK but they're definately VK-adjacent...

  15. Wow, my oshare roots must be strong. I listened to about 90% of these bands listed back in the day. I was hoping Henzel would have been mentioned more. They represent early oshare kei to me. I've had Ame Yadori in heavy rotation for over a decade and I still love it as much as I did when I first heard it.
