I've had this track on repeat a lot lately: KOJOE is best when he's just spitting and not attempting to sing.

Your post was removed because coming onto a thread and saying "wow, there's a lot of retarded messages here" in simply inflammatory and in no way contributes to discussion. Furthermore, going on to statuses and bitching about staff decisions is equally unwelcome. If you'd like to discuss this further, you can reach me via P.M. But if you're not satisfied with the way we handle things, then you're also free to leave. Thread closed.

Sunday was the day we did things on plug, and while I like that day, it's not set in stone. It's a new season, and with each season comes changes. Now that we're on dub, we've been struggling to get members in and the sessions have been depressingly small. So if we have to change the time of the official sessions to accommodate more people, then we will. I'm not opposed to trying different time slots and observing the kind of reception we get. We can choose a new official time at whichever time yields the most results. For starters, when would be the best time for everyone?

  10. In conjunction with @Ito's post, I'd also like to point out that while the staff/ORZ has a few users who specialize solely in VK, most of the staff takes an open-minded approach to J-rock and Japanese music as a whole. Meaning that most of us make an attempt to stay abreast of several scenes (including VK), and we don't necessarily make it a habit to distinguish between VK and non-VK. We even take Jpop and many other areas of J-music into account as well. VK represents just a tiny pocket of Japanese music as a whole, so proportionately speaking, it would only be natural for VK not to dominate the list. Even the term "indie" is hugely ambiguous - Japan doesn't have a singular "indie" scene and the term could refer to any number of genres or scenes from your typical, straightforward rock stuff, to psych-rock, noise-rock, emo, post-hardcore, post-punk, math and post-rock, folk, punk, and all types of hybrid bands that A&R's couldn't slap a label on.
  11. Not that their list are anything to revere, but I always find it interesting to view their rankings. I can't say that I'm surprised at most of these picks, although Tame Impala is quite high when I thought that was their weakest release to date, heh. The Kendrick and D'angelo records are certainly deserving, though. http://pitchfork.com/features/staff-lists/9764-the-50-best-albums-of-2015/
  12. Bradio isn't quite my cup of tea, but after watching 'Death Parade', the OP song they did for it became ironically charming. Plus I know a certain blue mod (*cough*@beni*cough*) who loves to spam that song to death, haha.

  14. Seu, what are your fav. songs and releases from the band?
  15. It's like Die and Kobayashi are first-rate chefs serving McDonald's.
  16. I haven't seen any Disney movies since the 90's, but I remember liking both The Lion King and Toy Story as a kid. I even owned this game on Sega, haha: The only Ghibli movie I've seen was Princess Mononoke as a teen. I remember enjoying it quite a bit. I definitely need to check out a few of the others too.
  17. Revived at the behest of the homegirl @seurong! \m/
  18. I'm apprehensive about it too...especially after hearing the generic ballad he composed for Ando Yuko. Even though mature, mid-tempo/ballady Jpop is kind of her thing, she's also no stranger to more adventurous compositions. I can't help but think of this track as a lost opportunity: http://www.ando-yuko.com/news/special.php (scroll down to sample the track) At any rate, I think it's best to approach this mini with minimal expectations...
