And than they return with yumehito under the name ZOROBAN, right?no. they will reform under the name "monkey. d. luffy" or "sanji" or becoming oshare under the name "nami" or "tony tony chopper"
monkey d. ruffy, nami, choppa and zoro will be the member's names in zoroban.

Good music? Hell no, just do more fanservice and release 1-track singles in fifteen different versions.
This will make any band rich and famous and very very cool.
-
King records? Awesome.

but a Best of-album kind of scares me..a best of simply means that they want to throw something on shelves and get quick cash
but don't want to record new stuff anymore.
(or they have a fixed contact with their current label that clearly states a number of releases they should produce)
It won't sell as good as an LP, but production costs will be minimal as well.
btw, I'm suprised they haven't announced a new LP yet.
-
I was expecting four albums of covers of their previous albums.
-
this is evident of the control that management has over the band. srsly.Or the band trying so hard to get into oricon top-10 and give hugs'n'kisses to their fans.
girugamesh is OVER.^ this
-
Girugamesh is not indie. Indie means apart of an independent label. there is no independent label in japan, they're all run by syndicates of major labels.you're not quite right here;
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free-Will - look on the list of "distributors" on the right - those are the companies that do cd-printing, live arrangements, marketing, etc., that a smaller label can not handle,
plus - overseas deals.
girugamesh are recording shit on danger crue, but their releases are distributed by avex since their s/t came out.
Technically, most of VK-labels are connected together (and an indie to major band still pays royalties to their former label),
but I guess you can divide bands by indie sound and major sound then.
-
Can't see them going on hiatus anytime soon - their sales are growing with each single atm.
They might stop releasing same shit over and over if their next full album will have poor reception and won't sell quite well.

http://www.unsraw.com/pc.html - samples for Kleza in Marsh are up
Shower is cheezy, Wine sounds great so far.

I really doubt Satsuki can be big, after all [not that I ever had that kind of conviction...]. I'm still really curious what they're all doing. Shun supports Mika in recording when needed... Ryo... plays games? Takumi with his music assignments. Mika with his project + music assignment... then Satsuki's solo.I think Satsuki's sales are pretty much the same as late Res - about 1,000 copies per release, but the income isn't split between members anymore (except he's paying for the session members and co-composing);
I have no idea how much money the musicians get themselves after royalties and stuff are paid to the management, I guess Ryo could work in 7/11 and earn more than he did in the band D:
And as everyone else, I'm surprised Merry even has fans! [Actually, I didn't like them until Sayounara Ame...then their S/T... so I haven't been there since the beginning xD].they are quite good. their indie albums are really so-so, but with a few amazing tracks here and there + really nice atmosphere;
my favorite album by them so far is peep show, really great, love literally every track, and the recent singles were good too.
you may want to give them another try later, if you're still at the point where you like glay

Didn't bother downloading tbh

Eh, it isn't that surprising since firewall is DIRU's label... [and now MERRY].I don't really get the whole relationship between Firewall, Free-will and Sunkrad - like, 12012 has been associated with F-will for a few years, but their homepage refers to sun-krad as a copyright holder?
same with diru - it seems they're releasing some stuff under firewall and some under free-will.
Eh, it isn't that surprising since firewall is DIRU's label... [and now MERRY].But, how bad did the sales go? It's kind of hard to believe they got worse... when it seemed like they were getting more fans [then again, this is only a perception overseas wise]
they dropped quite a lot:
http://oriconv.seesaa.net/article/162860167.html
they probably did earn more money touring than they did in pre-freewill days, but the stats are disappointing,
I'm no longer surprised they decided to disband
I really wonder how Merry's sales changed through the past years.
@ Herpes
I lol'd hysterically when I saw your link yesterday - esp. reading undercode numbers was quite entertaining.
-
I'm confusing freewill for firewall sometimes.

It's the same for most VK bands. Except the ones who've turned J-pop recently, they're selling better than ever. I don't know if you guys ever follow Oricon charts, but it's like the idol groups at the top sell 100,000-500,000 during their first week and then below them the sales drop exponentially. #10 is like 10,000, #20 maybe 5,000 and #50 is lucky to have >1,600. It's a crazy industry. Not sure who's making money off it, except SID, Dir and the Gazette.Kiyoharu seems to make ALL THE MONEY in the VK, and that's like super awesome.
I was surprised that Ayabie sales got a 10x increase since they became a boymeat band
and was really sad for rentrer en soi, whoose sales dropped since they joined firewall D:
at least they did some money from touring though.

trying to expand their fanbase hyuck hyuck hyuck

Edit: Then again, I couldn't think of a better or more brilliant campaign. At least it is a lot better than releasing 10 different versions of the same single or something.Miyavi had something similar, back at his PS company days - some sort of batshit retarded withdrawal, where fans could win a dinner or a date with him, can't remembers surely (it was back in 2004-2005 I assume)
I know everyone has a right to opinions . but it just makes me sad when bands work so hard on new releases and poof all they get are hate and nasty comments. the way i see it is if you don't like it then don't comment or judge.I'm pretty sure 90 % of their HARD WORK is looking pretty, everything else is handled by PS Company.
Once they graduate from PSC completely, I suppose even Sug fans will all go butthurt because their MooZiK would suck so much.
-
I don't like current D, but I like this cover quite a lot.
Also just found 12012's sales. Lolforever. http://oriconv.seesaa.net/article/164424902.htmldo you have similar stuff for the other artists? really interested in gackt and miyavi, for example
-
I'm afraid there's not a single band, living or disbanded, to surpass Sug's creative approach towards everything
-
FFS, shit is trippy
can't stop watching
btw their website background is equally terrifying:
-
Would band members get a blowjob from their management if the single gets into top-10?
-
^ agreed
vagina dentata would be a better title
-
don't like the cover
and
I want some music already, damnt it D:
