  1. ↑ I'd probably pick the Ringo track

    01.Sugar - in pain

    02.Sel'm -

    03.Energy -

05.Hande Yener - Ne Rüyası (Feat. Ali Seval)

    09.ivory7 chord - virtual world

Huh, weird VK-ish shuffle here with random other crap that snuck in lol.  I think I'll go with the UZUMAKI track though.

  2. ↑ I'd probably go with ARTEMA in that list. They're awesome.

02.The Cigavettes - My Old Car

    03.부활 - OZ

Sea Tide

    08.ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION -

    09.Babamania - Lately

Hah, literally haven't listened to MUCC in forever, the Cigavettes song was short but awesome, Boohwal came up yet again (better song tho), Peng Tan is amazing, rest of the songs were kinda meh so I'm going with Boohwal.

  3. ↑ I'd also pick Perfect Blue from that list lol

Last Night

    4.kagrra, -

    6.DaizyStripper - Little Ballerina

7.DE DE MOUSE - dancing horse on my notes

    8.HIBIKILLA - History

9.BLANKEY JET CITY - ICE CANDY

    10.FOX LOCO PHANTOM - Toy

That Bye Bye Sea track is freakin' great and I waited through the whole ten songs for something to top it, but nothing did.

  4. ↑ Would go for the TBH song on your list....which was CATS before someone else posted lol.  9GBO - Nocturne for the list directly above mine.

    01.Binecks - Desert Rose

03.Hossam Ramzy & Rafa El Tachuela - Rafaga de Viento (Gust of Wind)

04.RAU DEF - Day One [feat. Vito (Squash Squad)]

Your Story

    08.The Real Tuesday Weld - It's Time

    10.CHAGE & ASKA -

Hot damn this was a good shuffle.  Haven't listened to Binecks in forever, that Crows song has sick bass, RAU DEF!, great D=OUT song, etc.  Gonna go with RAU DEF however.

  5. I would have to pick SCANDAL  out of that list because they're the only artist I listen to lol

Could U Be

    2.Kalafina - magnolia

    7.Silver~Rose - Keen Kiss Me

    8.OLIVIA - Starless Night

This was a really meh shuffle lol.  Guess I'll go with SID.

  6. Even though Monsters wasn't very exceptional (I liked only Human-clad monster, lol), I still prefer it over Coll:set. Coll:set for me is very hard to get into and it sounds like it tries too hard at being something that it hasn't succeeded in. Monsters is a way more accessible album than Coll:set is, generally. That's why I usually don't understand people recommending Coll:set to people who want to try this band, mainly because I myself would rather recommend MIRRORS. MIRRORS still has something the newer albums don't, but it's more accessible than Coll:set is. Though I guess if the person who is asking for recommendations is into the kind of stuff Coll:set is, I'd understand why you'd recommend it. I myself got recommended Coll:set and I couldn't make it through the first 4 songs because it really REALLY seemed to annoy me because the tracks felt like they weren't going anywhere.

    I'd have to say MIRRORS > REDEEMER > Monsters > Coll:set

I agree with you in recommending Mirrors for someone who has never heard them before, but I personally got into them when Coll:set came out and it didn't dissuade me lol.  But I think that was more because it was along the lines of stuff that I was already listening to at the time.

  7. I just was listening to Monsters and it really was reviewed way too harshly by most people imo. If you take it by itself and aren't expecting the harder and darker tones of Coll:set, it really is a great album.

Word. I love everything about Monsters.

  8. i know it's random and maybe wrong i have no clue about ayabie but when vkei artists cut their hair like that and change style like i randomly saw he did. i always think they want to work somewhere else outside vkei or get married. i should have guess it from the haircut and facial hair.lol half joking

Ahahah I thought exactly this. I'm totally expecting him to show up in a non-VK band sometime in the near future lol

  9. I think nearly everyone missed the point of this thread lol.  It's not about what describes your taste in music or what you look for in "good" music, it's about how would you tell someone else exactly why you like a band or a song without going, oh it's catchy electro-dance pop and that's my jam man.  It's not even necessarily about telling someone why a band should be considered good, but why YOU enjoy listening to them.

    Good article, to sum up.

  10. Aaaand if I may butt into the album-discourse;

Coll:set is probably their best album, but I think the other albums are judged quite harshly? The reason is probably this: their music did not become worse, they just broadened their style, and it did not suit some of their old fans tastes.

Agree, lol.  Though this could be said about nearly every other "big" VK band out there.  It's always cooler to like either the first or second album of the band.  Personally I can't really decide on a favorite of theirs.  I have the most plays of REDEEMER, but the most loved songs off of MONSTERS.

  11. I've listened to everything mentioned lol and if I don't listen to them regularly, it's because I don't like them. ;p  As for OP's list, I do recommend BJC.  I like GN Boyz, but it's more of preference, they're really nothing special overall.  Don't bother with X though.  A more boring band in Japanese music I've never heard lol.  When I was first getting into Japanese music they were everywhere and I kept trying their stuff and was just like, wtf this sucks why does everyone like them?  Fortunately I found other bands, rest is history, etc.

Oh, also, I never cared for Supercar, but have you tried iLL? The singer Koji Nakamura's solo is quite good.
