And visual-kei

10 years later, after we've named every Japanese rock band from 1975 through 2023, gekijou finally updates with the decision to settle with taking The GazettE's "TOXIC" album for a spin.

The airiness of the verses remind me of Marina and the Diamonds, and the general idea of the song is giving me a lot of "Supermodel of the World."

Smurftastic. I've yet to hear "Oh La La" still. It being associated with the Smurfs kind of turns me off a lot.

The US seems to only get VKei bands at conventions now, I guess to ensure that people will go see them if they've never heard of them. I guess it's a double edged sword: You get people to see and experience your shows if they're at the convention when they might not have even heard of you playing otherwise : You are now more heavily associated with animu / otaku culture and are further ingrained in people's minds as "this is just for weeabo fggts" Unless you're Dir en Grey. They've been good at touring with popular bands and haven't been playing at events here associated with conventions (i.e. Korn's tour in 2006~2007). As far as I know, the same thing is happening with their current tour in the US.

Do you have the lyrics for lovers:psycho? :< I have an idea of what one line translates to, but I want to be sure I'm right.

I think she means that free to play lets -anyone- with the right hardware requirements to join. If you've ever worked with the public, you will understand why allowing lots of people to join can cause problems with quality of life while playing. I don't think it has anything to do with the caliber in which they play, so much as it makes it much easier for people to join and fuck up the game for everyone else because, in a sense, they're not losing anything "real" aside from time. I think "thirteen year olds" is just a generic term for "self entitled assholes who represent the bad sides of gaming," because the current stereotype of this kind of person is a preteen yelling into his mic while playing COD in between algebra homework and his next dose of Ritalin. F2P, in theory, might reduce the odds of this happening since I don't think most people want to spend time making the game unenjoyable for everyone else unless they are misanthropic and have a lot of money. They could do that much more easily on games like League of Legends, which has a huge playerbase and is free (and prone to this kind of dickcunt mentality, but I digress).

To answer honestly: I like all of them for different reasons. I'm sure this goes for many people here, but Phantasmagoria was one of my "gateway" bands for visual-kei. I don't listen to them as often as I had once done, and I also don't hold them to the same esteem either, but they still had a huge impact on my life. I really liked the frilly-ness of Mirage. They were pretty influenced by Baiser, then got darker in later releases before Kisaki formed Syndrome, but they are probably one of my favorite old school bands. Syndrome has some cool songs as well. I like "[slæver]," "Sexual," "Cirque-Art a Partir-," "I never lose," and I think another whose name escapes me. I never got into them a whole lot when compared to his other projects. I really like the low-budge / low-talent of La:Sadie's. Trashy garage post-punk/gawf is cool ok. Has nothing to do with them digivolving into Dir en Grey or being a proto-Missa album (which I think sucked, btw). Rin has been love / hate for me. They have a few songs that I think are fantastic, but also a lot of songs I feel are half-assed and trying to be trendy but ending up looking like MDNA / Hard Candy-era Madonna (do molly b/c all da kidz r doin it!!) . Surprisingly, some of their slower songs are their best works, but their fast, synth Chariots releases aren't always tolerable. Kisaki project relaxes me. I find it to be very calming and very nice to listen to from time to time. This kind of music isn't something I'd want to listen to frequently, but every so often I get in the mood for something super soppy with canned violin. The quality of the orchestral arrangements definitely improved with Satsuki, and their Lareine cover with Wataru is great. Kisaki was only in Stella Maria for 2 demo-tapes. One of the songs he was a part of was later re-recorded ("AI-Doll"), but I don't believe I've heard the original version. I have heard the other demo he was on, "TIME LIMIT," but I don't recall it being like the rest of Stella Maria's songs. Stella Maria themselves are great, though. Love UN-TITLED, Spilt Milk, and Shi-mon. However, since Kisaki was only there for like...3~4 songs (as a support member, mind you), I really don't consider them to be a "Kisaki band." Following that logic, Anti-Feminism and E'm~Grief~ would also be Kisaki bands. 妃&関西貴族 were also cool. I like the variety and how a lot of my favorite matina / ucp vocalists are featured on their Best Simulation album. I've still never listened to GARDEN, Levia (which I don't think released anything), Laybial, SHEY≠DE, De≠prive, Ruby, nor 廃人黒薔薇族.

I liked the song, btw. I'm getting some RES vibes again, which is okay with me. If I've never actually listened to 12012 before Deicida, what would be a good place to start? I only really liked the title track of that release for the guitar work and the chorus.

Aww, he almost passes for a drag queen

Since I'm sure I'm not the only one who hasn't heard the songs they're covering, here they are: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDtT4_2-ap8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qt824-Gsx1o http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxsT8zbjJuM "飾りじゃないのよ涙は" sounds like the poppy stuff off of Vibe / Missing Link even before they covered it.
