Eva is tends to be very polarizing at times. The plot certainly does thicken in interesting ways, can't say for the better though since I wasn't too invested . What does get better, at least to me, are the action scenes. Characters on the other hand gets developed, but they don't become more likable, just tolerable at best.

^ I didn't see a single trailer of the movie. My only exposure was some twitch ads and Chris Stuckman's movie reviews on youtube. As someone who really enjoyed the first two Predator films, I wanted to see it regardless. It's really sad when the first AvP movie was far more enjoyable than this one.

The Predator (2018) Easily the worst of the franchise. I went in with low expectations, but I still ended up being disappointed. What this movie was going for was action comedy. However, the humor was shoehorned in and I remember only laughing once in the entire movie. Lots of one liners, but wrongly timed. My goodness the CGI was awful. Probably the worst I've seen in years. This movie does confirm its canon to the first two Predator films, which brings me to another annoyance about this movie.... why isn't titled Predator 3? By the end of the movie, it's almost setting itself up for a sequel, so what are you gonna call it? THE Predator 2? Some action scenes are decent, the 3rd act was sloppy on its editing. Too many fast cuts to process what going on. And the acting... I'm done.
  4. I've been digging Dan Mason's music recently. I wasn't aware of the specific genre when I first discovered the artist but now i know. Most of his stuff is free to get on bandcamp. https://danmason.bandcamp.com

Darling in the FranXX - This show sure took its sweet time but it's finally gotten good. Grancrest Senki - Pacing is too fast at times but still entertaining. Aside from Berserk, it may be the closest thing to Game of Thrones in anime format. Gundam Build Divers - I'm not the target demographic for this, however the mechs alone is my reason to watch it. Hinamatsuri - Best anime of the season. Few things from the manga were skipped but still funny AF. Megalo Box - How could I ignore a show that combines cyberpunk setting with boxing? Also, the music is on point! Persona 5 The Animation - I no longer have time to play 40+ hour games so therefor, the anime is good enough for me. Steins Gate 0 - Much better start than the original and not much on the filler.
  7. This year's acen musical guest is the first where I'm not even interested in going to see the concert.

Rampage Saw this movie last night and it's pretty much a straight up popcorn flick. I had no idea this was an adaptation of a retro video game but I found it more entertaining than Tomb Raider.

    I still love my winamp.

Honestly, I've been quite underwhelmed with the show so far. The pacing the atrocious and the characters are just typical stapled archetypes. The only episode that impressed me was ep6. I need to see more world building and mecha action. Also, 02's backstory.

Tomb Raider (2018) This movie is average at best. I was looking forward to this cuz the trailer made it look awesome but it was disappointing The actress that plays Lara Croft does a pretty good job portraying the character. There are some platforming scenes here that's reminiscent from the reboot games but not a whole lot. There wasn't enough action but a lot of wasted time on exposition and puzzle solving, which frankly was pretty awkward when the rest of the characters do nothing but watch Lara solve it. That kind of thing only works in the game. I also had issues with some of the basic logic making decisions the characters make, particularly in the first third of the movie. I think the writers played it too safe here cuz it was overall bland and generic.

Black Panther Before the mid credit scene, the movie was just plain good. After that mid credit scene, it scored a GREAT flick to me. It's a message desperately needed for everyone to hear. Also, we finally get a decent villain that's on par with (or even better to others) Spiderman Homecoming's. Acting is fantastic, world building and culture is depicted well. Ryan Coogler is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors of this time as he did a stellar job with CREED and Fruitvale Station.

I've never played Budokai so I can't really comment on that. I would say it's most similar to Persona 4 Arena and Guilty Gear Xrd when it comes to the fighting mechanics.

Just picked up Dragonball FighterZ. I'm enjoying the gameplay so far. The menu system though, is awful. Rather than a simple intuitive menu where you can select mode, you're in an MMO style lobby town and you have to go to specific parts of the town to select a mode. What the hell were these devs thinking?

Here's mine. I've been playing this since day 1 and I still don't have a 5 star servant. And if you want to add me, here's my account #.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi It was enjoyable. I liked it slightly better than VII. There are some serious pacing issues in some parts of the film that really made it drag. Aside from that, this movie pulls some unexpected directions that can be either a good or a bad thing. Really depends on how you perceive these changes.

I saw the latest Fate installment which is Heaven's Feel - I. Presage Flower movie a few days ago at a select theater. Due to the slow pacing in the beginning, it felt like more than a 2hr movie. The intro scene from the beginning to the intro credits took nearly 30min with all the school life stuff, but the intro credit scenes rushed point B to D in a matter of a minute, so you don't get to see how the characters obtained their servants. Definitely not for those who aren't familiar with the franchise. Aside from that, fantastic visuals and impressive action scenes kept me hooked. Music is also great! I would say this is right on par with Fate Zero in terms of how dark and violent it is. Is this the best Fate Stay Night route by far? Too early to tell, but I'm already liking it better than the original.

I've also been playing that quite a lot.

The Foreigner A decent flick that's got Jackie Chan in it but it feels more like a Pierce Brosnan movie with the amount of screen time and lines he has. It's somewhat enjoyable although this is the first time seeing Jackie Chan in such a depressed role. He still has the martial arts action here, but in serious manner. One problem I had with this movie is the lack of direction it was going for. Is it a revenge flick or a political thriller? Not something I recommend paying full price to see in the big screen but worth the rental. Thor: Ragnarok This is clearly the best Thor movie of the 3. It's very comedic, in fact, I would categorize this as simply comedy rather than action comedy. The timing on the humor is so spot on that I've at least smirked 90% of the time. It's satirical to that whole Shakespearian acting. Even the Hulk is so obviously CG here, this is the most amount of character I've seen of him in any other Marvel movies. Like most other Marvel movies, the villain is painfully boring and pretty much an afterthought just for the sake of having a villain. If you do go out to see this, make sure to flush everything out cuz this is a 2hr and 10min movie. It was painful holding the piss half way through the movie.

Wolfenstein 2 The New Colossus Man this game is so satisfying just like the previous one.

2 shows this season I wholeheartedly must recommend: Princess Principal If you wanna see steam punk victorian age spy anime with moe character designs, this is it! It's got nice choreographed action scenes that doesn't pull any punches, well written individual episodes, and fantastic score by Yuki Kajiura. Please give us season 2... Made in Abyss What I expected was some kiddy fantasy adventure anime from looking at the promo pic but nope. It gets dark fast. The last several episodes have been really unsettling for me to watch due to its shocking and disturbing scenes. Although the overall plot isn't over, the show concludes well.

Saw the new "It" movie last night. It was surprisingly good! Much better than the original movie. I'm not big into horror movies in general but this is an actual good quality flick that goes back to the basics of horror. Many horror movies these days rely too much on blood and gore that gives the feeling of disgust rather than the terror aspect. This however does the opposite. There were a few well crafted jump scares that actually shook me and the creep factors here, especially pennywise, were pretty effective. Oh, let's not forget about the writing. I love the dynamics of these kids in their developments. It gave us a reason to care for them, something that many horror flicks lack. Great acting too! One major criticism I had was the climax scene. I hated the way it was directed because the camera kept swaying back and forth. shaky cams, and the there were like 100 cuts in a min making me feel disorientated. This is one of my biggest pet peeves in an action scene. Yes I'm looking at you, Jason Borne movies. I recommend seeing "It."
