Maybe since it leaked he didn't bother to release it officially. anyway, i want world tour. I wish I was as big of a fan in 2008, I've watched videos of the 'glow in the dark' tour concert he did in Melbourne and even from LQ video it seemed amazing He did a 25 song concert, with a 15 minute version of Love Lockdown as the final track.

How does Kyo sound VK? He has the one of the most unique voices I've ever heard. His range is amazing. He makes noises I didn't even know could come out of a human being and be interpreted as singing. If VK singers decide to try to copy him, how does that affect his singing capabilities or make him a visual kei singer if the vocal style originates with him? And if you compare his vocals now to 2005/06, he has come a long way. He has almost reinvented his vocal style. If you claim that from 1997 to 2011, he has not changed his vocal style, then you are a fucking idiot. (excuse the language)

Wow, this aren't the kind of reviews I was expecting. LOTUS THIS IS THE SONG I WANTED THEM TO MAKE! I've noticed with this track and the last single, they've gone back to making the chorus the centrepiece of their songs. The riffs are both catchy and beautiful. Kyo shows off his clean vocal range nicely. Although the pitch he goes for in the chorus might be annoying to some, for me it works. Inclusion of piano towards the last chorus is nice too. It feels like a back to basics track from them, after experimenting so much on their last album. Miles better than Hageshisha. Gives me hope the next album will be something special. 9/10 OBSCURE (new ver) I would have preferred the changes with the original lyrics of the song. It feels like a completly different song now, and doesn't even come close to the epic original. That being said, the composition changes are nice, so scores some points there. 5/10 Reiketsu Nariseba (Live) There is no way this is live. It feels like a live performance in a studio, with crowd cheers inserted at the end. But I think I prefer this to the original recording, has more energy and passion. 8/10

I think that's a leak though, it still hasn't been released officially?

I don't think its the lyrics that are the problem. Rather, her image and persona. Earlier in her career she was more humble with her success, she earnt it, was different without being too out there and over the top. But naturally, when your career is based on being whacky and outragerous, you have to outdo it every time. I guess for me, sometimes, she goes too far to achieve that. She only has an album and EP to her name - Fame Monster was a very solid album, improved on pretty much every aspect of The Fame. but if she continues down this same electropop path for the next album, its going to be boring. There's only so much you can do with one genre (think Bad Romance, never heard a pop song like it) not to mention all the other artists who have done it to death. She probably brought the genre into the mainstream in 2008, but its 2011 now and her sound, not just the image, is going to need to show progression. From what I've heard about Born This Way, she goes on about dance beats dominating the album like its something new... When you think of other pop artists, you probably don't think of 'progression'. But Gaga is talented musically, shes in a league of her own, just has to work hard now to stay there. So we'll see.

I re-watched the movie recently, and they only play a verse and chorus of All of the Lights. I think Monster was the only track left out completly. Probably because he knew that would be the 2nd single. Has the video been released for that yet? Nobody is credited in the title, but this is the list of singers from the song - Alicia Keys, John Legend, The-Dream, Fergie, Kid Cudi, Elton John, Ryan Leslie, Charlie Wilson, Tony Williams, Elly Jackson, and Rihanna I never really liked him until I heard '808s and Heartbreak', which absolutely blew my mind. So I'm gonna suggest that for a first album. But I was always a fan of his popular songs - Stronger and Golddigger, so I wasn't completly new to Kanye when I heard a whole album. Also waiting for a tour - he's doing Coachella, so hopefully a world tour follows after that.

I think I'm gonna hold out for the album version, don't wanna ruin it.

I knew of her before her album came out. I loved pretty much all of her demo tracks. Then the album came out. Overproduced garbage. Almost every demo became a trainwreck. Starry Eyed held up, Under the Sheets, a good new song here and there but overall very disappointing. I think its.. Stargate who produced the album. He absolutely butchered her raw talent, tried to make this shiny-pop album that did not suit her AT ALL. Now 'Bright Lights' has come out (deluxe edition of her album with new tracks) and the new tracks is how her album should have sounded. Restored my faith in her. If you haven't heard her demo tracks, listen to the demo version of 'Wish I Stayed' produced by Frankmusik rather than Stargate.
  9. They don't sell TBM CDs in Australia (only in expensive import stores), I was overseas when it came out, thinking in Europe of all places it would be easy to find their stuff. Much harder than I thought.. ended up tracking it down in a record store in Rome. Really surprised their stuff is not well-distributed. Even when they came here in '08 they said they were gonna get a deal for aussie distribution but it never happened.

it sounds fantastic it reminds me of dozing green.

lol @ exact same audio preview in PV preview. Sounds even better now, the video looks more polished than their recent efforts as well.

I love 'All of the Lights', definitely needs to be the next single. Anyone heard the H.A.M. collaboration with Jay-Z? Not really sure I like it. The beat is weak.
  13. Tony

Not sure about the previews. None of the songs seem to be covering any new ground, some of the previews sound downright awful/boring. Calling is the best sounding preview. But shaping up to be their worst album at this stage for me.
  14. Tony

kid cudi's first album anyone? alternative trip-hop.
  15. Tony

hated their songs. are they doing another album?
  16. Tony

Well to me this is no surprise, they deserve it.
  17. Tony

Not gonna judge until I hear the song. But yeah, I miss the Just Dance days too. Then fame got to her head.
  18. Tony

    liking the covers.

Knowing giru, they will have one or two experimental songs that end up turning out great. Their problem is all the singles/PV songs are the same generic crap they have been releasing for years.
  20. I know of Plasticzooms as well. I dunno.. its hard to describe what I mean because post-punk is a very broad genre. But darker music, with heavy use of bass and occasional synthesizers.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDnf2TWgVgM Destiny PV. The full song isn't a complete trainwereck, has its moments but i don't feel the chorus as well.
  22. I can't seem to find many recent Japanese bands that have been influenced by the post-punk movement. There was a huge revival in the 00s in the west, but almost non-existent in Japan. I think the only band I know of is "Lillies and Remains" and I don't think they're that great. They are probably hidden away in indies land..

how is she the answer to justin bieber? If she got a loyal following of paedophiles, I'd start to worry.
  24. Tony

Love the tracklist. And please, for the love of god, re-record or at least re-master some of those old indies tracks!! that would make this release epic.

Were you not a fan of Uroboros/Hageshisa or was this just a general comment and didn't reflect your feelings on Uroboros/Hageshisa any? general comment I was a fan of both releases. But Hageshisa could have been tagged on the end of UROBOROS. I want this track to be something different entirely. The track just feels like it falls within that melodic, hard rock sound that Vulgur/Withering had. Its my favourite era of the band as well so I'll always hope for it to come back in some shape. But then again, this does have the feel of the "poppy chorus" of Hageshisa and all around this snippet could be growling, screaming, squealing and other assorted noises.
