    clearly

HAH ! never thought my comment could've directed in that way.

i was just being cautious of making a comment for a straight guy having gay friends.

it's still pretty much of an issue still from where i live, so trust me, i need to be careful of these.

talking of artistry, it's just a taste. i like these, i dont like those.

can we just move along ? i have never expected my comment bring these little controversy :)

sometimes i am compelled to speak, but i forget to just shut up and look away --- lesson learned.

    internalized homophobia hun x

not necessary a homophobic here (considering i had a few friends in my life),

but i still cant perceive a grown man wearing skirts and with glittery femme make-ups -- even after 20 years of enjoying japanese rock.

i loved old-school dir en grey --- just without imagining them with those attires.

Surely this is in reverse order? There are many here who would burn you at the stake for putting the holy quadrinity dead last 😂

actually i partially agree with the list above. never was a fan of gauze, but although i would put macabre, vulgar, and kisou above withering and marrow

this album WAS interesting. but by far, uroboros, dss and vulgar are my favorites

(arche and withering is ok, kisou and macabre are classics, but marrow is hard to love except for a few tracks)

without trying deviate from the thread, insulated was balanced in quirkiness, productions, and a few kick's. not the best, but average.

i am still waiting for the disc 2 rips tho ! :) kigan sounds interesting.

It’s kind of funny because very few people really seemed to be excited until recently. Maybe no samples was the way to go.

i am not a big fan of previews or samples. to be frank, i dont really care if there are samples or not.

for very few cases in the past, i listened to the samples waaaay too much before the real thing came out,

which it end up making the real deal an ancient in spite i have not listened to the whole record.

i think dogma was one of them..maybe add a couple of few

i am, however, very looking forward of next week's wednesday

I'm disappointed there were no guts flying every direction after the bride exploded though :(

    .... interesting

but i agree with you of the song being "happening fast".

i feel that the chorus of this preview is missing a line, it feels like it has jumped from the build up

but this kind of editing happened before. like zephyr of sukekiyo.

I suspect Kyo has gone full Maynard James Keenan and loves his side project more than his main band.

    although it may seems like,

Kyo is not the main composer for Dir nor for sukekiyo, so it looks strange when people try to compare these bands. He just sings in both of them, that's all.

    but this explains all

  7. this album might be, by far, the most distinct album since shadows,

however, maybe it's the production (the guitar and drum tones),

the architecture of the tracks (the tempo, bpm),

or the pure essence and concept of lynch is too strong,

im not sure if it's a good thing or not,

this album still sounds like the familiar "lynch"

    i guess they'll never break those lynch-equations.

What are the odds that the album is better mastered than Ningen? I’m going to be very disappointed if this sounds like a burned CD from 2004.

    i agree on this one.

i usually let it slide, but the most recent single's studio recording wasn't as strong as the music itself.

it could have been more defined and crisp sound without sharpening with the tuning as they intended to.

i hope they re-record the last 2 singles with same tunings of the new tracks -- i doubt they wont tho, they have always re-recorded outdated singles.

  9. surprisingly "OK" !

love the detailing of some guitar works ! and nice touch with samplings and effects.

    some tracks are nice !

my impression on this was like "dogma 2.0" but with a more colors instead of monochromatic approach (maybe it's because of the "2012 kanye merch" artcover ?)

definitely not ground breaking but nice album to listen for the next 2 weeks ! :D

  10. this is an interesting topic -- to be honest, perfect thread to vent :D

    as for me ;

    1. bands dressed with "dress" (ie, princess, mini skirts, literally feminine make ups) : i just cant digest this despite ive been into japanese rock for more than 20 years

    2. live distributed releases : well ... tough luck. i aint in japan so it make sense.

    3. multi version releases : i understand japanese love to "collect'em all", but hell, it's hard for me to catch up with all those releases

    4. weird indies with weird vibratos and weird squeaky voices : i cant remember what band, but one of those indies had a weird voice. but there are a lot of those.

    5. merches that do not sell internationally : i know i can get some of them through cdjapan or other sites . . . but shame.
