There's this indie artist called Alice Vicious (formerly Livii) whom I like much more than most of the k-pop artists I follow (though she is pretty popular for an indie composer I guess and there's the thing about "indie pop"...) and recently I found another similarly nice female singer with an interesting aesthetic called Minsu. I liked Thornapple back then as well, for those that were mentioned before here. Also Gukkasten and some others?

Aww this is inspiring, thank you really 😢 It's about the same time I've been putting off projects of my own lol, (some even longer ... sighs deeply) it's actually inspiring to hear to be honest. Its more like "the prospect of failure makes me so anxious I know I'll fail, and by fail I mean wasting my already short free time doing something mediocre and be frustrated about it because it's far from what I envisioned". And, well, it's proportional to how much I want to do it meaning I often put off that one thing I wanna do the most. But I guess it's really a matter of "just do it" sometimes, I mean you can't really figure out where you fail if you don't... try. This should be obvious but it's like a forehead flick lol
-
Thank you! It's not like I have a lot to say though I guess lol In more random thoughts now ... Anyone else have this issue where they really want to start a project/something (small or big) that really matters on a personal level and can't start it at all? Wonder if it's anxiety to commit/not fail or something, but it's like I can't do anything if it's not spontaneous.

Dunno man at this point its less "wanting affection" as much as it is "needing affection" Honestly I've never been one to feel despair over being unloved but growing up made me realize it's not easy either to be 100% alone in this big bad world as I had hoped to sigh Bills are easier if split and I guess the lack of any punctual human touch to make them "snap out of it" is why some celebs commit suicid* But honestly @shiroihana IA thats very enlightening. But personally from observation one thing I realized is most people who "lean left" ALSO don't Actually lean left, they're just privileged enough to live the society of the spectacle dream without any actual care for social issues, but it pins them as horrible human beings if they actually admit they don't care on a deeper level for humanitarian issues and whatnot so they throw empty discourse around. In the end, it's ~empty discourse for a lifetime and then we all die ~ from both sides, so your point is totally understandable from my point of view. (That is as someone working in fucking public social work where some Positively Privileged people with an uni degree HAVE to pretend to be amazingly enlightened humans to have some credibility, and boy I've seen SOME SHIT in here lol.) Also why am I the woman with the candyfloss-haired kpop idol on the avatar saying such deeeeep stuff? Clearly this world's upside down COVID wants us all in hell

I can't write and nobody cares - a post on being unloved I guess

Not just ICEMAN but a whole segment of 90s jpop - through names and acts such as AXS and, well, all of DA Family actually - was very... very Y2K vibes; but I used to think of vk as sort of the antithesis to it, as a whole. Like, where jpop was aggressively Y2K ~trendy bandomen~ were often just vampiresque lol. So, sadly, nothing to contribute here but thanks for this topic, it's pretty nice!

But aren't we all that? Personally other than homemade foods and such (which I love, to the point I was involved in organizing a fair for crafts and such and made a point of buying at least one product from each vendor for years as a student ; ; ) I love thrift stores but where I live there aren't many good "classy" thrift stores, the nicer ones are pretty much all in the same poor neighborhood which I love as I used to work there and study close by and it's a thriving neighborhood full of small businesses, but people just assume if you're walking there you are either a) a local with little disposable money or b) some politician trying to mingle ... So I used to go there a lot (because I wanted secondhand clothes and toys for my fairy kei and cosplay endeavors and it was close by lol also I'm a collector and there was some nice stuff ... ) but yeah it's kinda frowned upon, people have this idea that you're stealing clothes from the poor instead of buying in chains that employ them. And I get that there's a point, but it's a bit of a loose one (how am I ruining any big chain's business by buying a few pieces secondhand? Isn't that money partly reverted to charity anyway?,) if I can't buy secondhand (or from producers ...) I'd rather not buy clothes at all so nowadays I find myself buying more used clothes from ~j-fashion~ communities than anywhere else. And it's not really something conscious, I just found out that I much prefer getting goods knowing exactly what I'm paying for (instead of "buying" bullshit shenanigans) and at the same time speaking to the vendors/artisans and giving/getting direct feedback feels great. Instead of having something shoved on your face by a poor tired employer who's pretty much doing their best to not appear to be a slave to some big ass chain

There's precisely two thoughts going on in my head right now The first one is something more or less along the lines of (5th post last to first) The second one is why the hell aren't they releasing any new Castlevania games? Am I supposed to watch the Netflix show and download the mobage to get my fix? Wonder if the team have become janitors already

I was listening to some of you guys' works and it's soo good. Keep it coming. Meanwhile I played one (1) anison on a recorder for school when I was 13

Wtf. I was going to post something heartwarming + insightful about the disease and all of a sudden my laptops internet connection is not working anymore. It's wireless so it's really beyond me why, but wireless connections simply vanished ; Refreshing and nothing, restarted it already aaand nothing. Guess I only have my mobile connection now lol. Anyway. Where was I ... Myself. Things are hectic. Guess since herd immunity failed us the gv now goin for natural selection. Auths barely think for themselves so we are going back to work bc other countries are too. But our winters happening now I work in child care too so. More than anything I've always worried for those kids who have nothing in life but their grandparents; they are NOT few and they are going to shelters if anything happens 😕 more than money which has always failed me/us it's worrying me since day one of these bs happenings. I'm quarantined alone (as an essential worker I was asked to return to working locally.) missing my loved 1s ; mental health, never really had it but its worsening ; everything sucks basically. Anyway. Am I healthy in any way right now? Probably not. Will it get better? Hmm, doubt it...? So sorry to bring up the elephant but. What dyall think about the entertainment industry, particularly bands etc? Those events got me rethinking certain things which happened in Nov-Feb ... Seeing these in another light. For one. The boy in my pic is a Chinese guy in a k-pop group. He was in a hiatus supposedly bc of mental health issues since Apr/May and it seems he asked to return to SK in Nov/Dec but was refused. At first every fan was mad worried (he's in the company known for ... Expelling Hyunah lol) but now thinking about it, maybe the industry had known beforehand? Not unlikely seeing as lives are ... Absolute nonos in a pandemic (crowds, touching, spitting...) . Kinda makes me see those world tours re/scheduled completely out of nowhere between Nov-Feb in another light too.

when ya have a rly weird mix of tastes which you share with your 03 friends on Twitter but then you have to delete your Twitter because u found out one of your 2 sole exes actively tried to trick you in a MMO you're playing for the first time in ten years out of Absolute Boredom Lol Jesus fuck I try to stay away from everything so I don't get myself in trouble and guess what I got myself in trouble?? I SHOULD be working right now but holy fuck I don't have friends anymore and the dollar keeps on the rise I can't even buy FF7R

I agree, particularly with "They can't just call a mediocre album a mediocre album, or even acknowledge a bad song/album because of hype. It's all got to be amazing, flawless, like the second coming of Christ." Becuase it is what it is. It's a fad, a cultural phenomenon, something that's so good right now! even if it actually sucks, is actually losing its shine etc. because now international media has appropriated it to the point of making it seem like a political agenda its original creators never reeeally intended it to be, y'know. And, well, my point being exactly that they did intend it to be a political agenda... a lot. Just probably not to this degree. But - it's somewhat akin to what anime was in the past, right? The whole "anime aesthetic", "anime game" (which was literally just: japanese game with cartoon graphics ... lol ; ; ; ), "anime whatever" of the 90s and maybe even early 2000s. And it was cool around the world, and then suddenly it wasn't cool anymore. Before that, the hippies were cool, etc. Think of whatever cultural fad to illustrate my perspective. So, I guess what I was trying to argue before is exactly that - sure VK was never terribly mainstream, but everyone who's like 30 now probably lived an era when it was, at the very least ... cool. In a, y'know, oh, ok, these kids with the colorful Final Fantasy hairstyles are actually creating something artistically new. Until, again, it wasn't anymore. And before not being cool anymore of course it was appropriated in many ways - it's not really a coincidence that every bandomen from back then suddenly became ~*multicultural and global*~. Anyway... So it's not really a coincidence that some elements are present in both because, well, pop culture/media/etc works like that. Not to say "nothing is new" but of course some trends will be literal emulations or polar opposites of others. Making these "others"' presence undeniable.

Ver a galera falando mal do album do Dimlim em peso sendo que a única música que escutei achei "não tão ruim" me lembra como disseram que MUCC acabou em Karma e é o que eu mais tenho escutado nos últimos meses no repeat

I've got atm my old PSP and old DS phat, play otoge and stuff like that sometimes. I def need to buy a PS4 to play the titles I have already bought lol and thinking of buying a retro console too. Still torn between SNES, Saturn and Dreamcast. Although I've played SNES and DC on emulator already so leaning more towards the Saturn now (I've got a few Saturn and SNES titles but getting DC titles sounds ... difficult ...... . )
-
The idea of creating a retro style neocities to host my stuff because I'm old is dumb but I never said I'm smart anyway

It has just recently occurred to me that Hatenkou Yuugi is already in volume 21 so now aside from Hunter x Hunter I also expect to catch up on that lol. Wish me luck I guess

I came into this topic expecting Hitsugi and I didn't get Hitsugi so here's mr. coffin on the rare occasion where he is smiling for your viewing pleasure! (big "I'm an emo boy who rarely smiles but when I do it's really cute, even though I'm nearly 40" energy) Thank you, now I can go back to my regular "what's this crushing on visual kei oyaji bs? I don't know any of that" agenda

It's my first time doing this in a very "why not" fashion, expect me to give up in 0.5 days I'm bad at ratings so sorry if I reevaluate this in 0.2 days I decided to do this because I thought Dimlim's album sucked so bad I found myself skipping all of it and I'm glad I'm not alone in those thoughts lol. * = It's not yet released OR I didn't listen to the full thing yet so my comments are concerning the MV/previews J-MUSIC [January 07] [single] グラビティ↗︎↗︎楽しさFULLVOLTAAAGE!!! (Gravity) - 決意ゼロヒャクMAX!! (Ketsui Zero Hyakku Max) - 7/10 It's... a very solid rating coming from me I swear. [January 20] [album] ACME - WE ARE VISUALKEI - 7/10 This Best Of album is so goooood. The only thing I don't like about ACME, as I realized, is that they somehow got robbed during that US tour if that means they won't want to come/feel safe in my country lol aside from that, I love. Rock on. [January 25] [pv] SHIN x Alice Nine - Velvet - 8/10 This is a rating pure out of nostalgia because this cover really sent me back to the Rainbows days. Great song and great vocals singing. [February 19] [album] Queen Bee - BL - 7/10 First time properly listening to Queen Bee mostly because of their videos on The First Take and it's pretty cool. Not really in a "ohh my jam" way but it's good and chill music. What drew me to them was probably how the vocalist looks anything but generic j-pop/rock singer but their voice is as generic as it goes, although very skilled. [February 26] [single] flumpool - 素晴らしき嘘 (Subarashiki Uso) - 6/10 Still need to watch Ahiru no Sora ... I really need to watch it ....... the song is ok but I bet it looks amazing as a TV size opening and I don't want to spoil myself. Because I swore I'd watch it but lol [March 01] [album] DaizyStripper - INFINITY - 6/10 * It's OK and my brain is like "mugen no kanata heeeee" all day lol [March 4] [single] SID - delete - 6/10 * Technically, rhythm-wise it'd be a 5/10 tops but I adore his voice lol [March 4] [single] ACME - 嘘顔 (Usogao) - 6/10 * I mean... it's cool [April 22] [album] Miyavi - Holy Nights K-MUSIC [February 12] [album] 펜타곤 (Pentagon) - UNIVERSE : THE BLACK HALL - 7/10 The first full album is definitely not their best but far from being their worst. OTHERS

I SWEAR TO ESDMDMKM I actually tweeted something like "I feel so sorry for the japanese clerk at Mandarake who's gonna pack fifty < 100 JPY lightweight items and be like 'why is this weird foreign girl buying so many obscure blcds... and 90% of them starring Tattsun ... oh no'" because I was embarassed enough at myself already But then the store formally answered "we won't! Buy to your heart's content!" to which I am ... probably half grateful and 99% embarassed (No but really, I did cut down on my purchase a lot since I tweeted that... esp because I found some albums I wanted for a while now... and I wanted a doll too so ... *sigh* I was so happy no clerk would think of me weirdly anymore)

1. Nightmare 2. Shounenki (I kinda like AmaBo but SHOUNENKI ......) (abyss, and after that everything is in no particular order probably just whatever I thought of as something I listen to semi/regularly) 3. Gravity 4. Neverland 5. Moran 6. ACME(/DIV) 7. Gigamous 8. HOLYCLOCK 9. Kiryu 10. Leetspeak Monsters Honorable mention to kannivalism/baroque, ViViD and SCREW all of which I have never heard enough since back in the old days but what I have I either like or didn't actively dislike and should listen to more often. If I did, they'd probably replace the last 3 places. Also honorable mention to oldies Miyavi and Abingdon Boys School which I have seen mentioned itt and were my jams in my teenage years along with Ancafe or A9 etc. Actually, honorable mention to every non-vk jrock band standing in that abyss lol

October: saw my kpop boys (A.K.A. Pentagon - no, not that one) January: saw Miyavi and I can't really explain my picture in any way other than "I suddenly remembered I didn't pay to get close to him, breathe his air or shake his hand but to take a picture"
