So far I didn't give in - trying not to listen to anything before the release. But it's getting harder!! Only few days left!

  2. From time to time I have problems with fans who see other fans of the same member as 'rivals' and are interested romantically as in 'he feel notice how devoted I am and there will be happy ever after'. The mild form would be people badmouthing me or fans who were friendly before stopping to talk to me. The harsher form is being shoved or pushed during shows. Apparently it's easier for members to spot my white face and that's threatening.

This kind of obsessive behavior can drive away new fans. I haven't stopped  following any artists because of that, but it definitely changes how I feel about going to lives or events.

I think it's great when fans are passionate, but they need to stay in touch with reality - we are all just fans and musicians are just normal guys who play music.

  3. As others said it's fine to wear anything you want, but I would add a small exception - don't wear other artist t-shirts or goods. It's not a rule, but fans here definitely don't do that (while it's totally normal thing in the West). Unless you know that those two artists hang out/do events together/etc.

I actually see people wearing business clothes at lives a lot, I'd also been to a live wearing a white shirt few times  when I didn't have time to change (but it's way too hot!).

The only bag checks done in Japan I experienced was at huge venues (arenas), so going to a v-kei live you should be totally fine. You can bring bags in, but it's simply more comfortable to use a locker. If it's a standing live you don't know if suddenly fans won't do some furi having everyone moving.

Most venues allow you to bring a drink in, sometimes they can simply ask if you carry a camera.

  4. The food available at the venue kinda surprised me, but I love the names they made!! I was planning to go for door time, but will definitely want to grab i'me-shi-ck for lunch 😁

Does someone here have a JEALOUS single with a barcode that ends in 35? I need some information for Discogs, but I have the re-release only :/

I do! What kind of information do you need?

What even is this? It looks like he just drew a few Tim Burton-esque characters and made a website with merch on it featuring the characters?

There's ton of Zemeckises merch available at sukekiyo shows and special events. They're quite adorable really! And I think Kyo is going to release a picture book with them next spring?

    I was there ^^

He sang 暖炉の果実 (kein), グラミー (kein) and site of scaffold (deadman) alone, and then also Schwarz Stein's "Hakobune" and "Last Hallucination" together with Kaya and Hora at the encore. He was also throwing sweets into the crowd like Santa, smiling, laughing and even talking during the MC! Unbelievable TT

Actually during the MC Kaya told a bit of how he invited Mako. At some uchiage he asked him something like:

    - You haven't performed lately, right?

    - Well maybe I should do in the nearest future...

    - Eh? But you haven't sang for so long, why don't you start with performing few songs at SS's oneman?

    - Well ok ^^

So MAYBE we'll hear from him again quite soon? Who knows.

    Lucky!! :D

    Thanks for more details!

I saw him with a friend at the Hollowgram's live some time ago, I don't think there was any MC that time. Much less sweets!!

    I really hope we will!

  8. Mako was invited by Kaya to the 15th anniversary live of Schwarz Stein today.

    How I wish I was there T~T

I wonder how many years it will be until he comes to another live...

Can someone help me out on this? I'm trying to make sense of different versions of releases (mostly by DEG)

    • 通常盤 → Regular version. Including main CD, sometimes with extras.
    • 初回生産限定盤 → Initial limited version. Literally "first-run limited edition production recording". Often called 初回盤 ("first press"). Different cat.-no. than 通常盤.
    • 初回仕様限定盤 →  Initial limited version. Literally "first-run limited edition technical recording". Same cat.-no. as 通常盤.
    • 完全生産限定盤 → Special limited version.
    • 完全受注生産限定盤 → Limited order-only deluxe version.
    • 初回封入特典 → Means that an extra is included, such as a sticker/photo card.
    • 特殊パッケージ仕様 → Means that the jacket is special in some way.

Is there anything to add/correct? And what's the difference between 2nd and 3rd?

The first press of 通常盤 sometimes will have some extras that later presses will not have, maybe a different color jacket, extra sticker etc.

The 4th one is usually refered to as a deluxe version afaik.

I think the last one doesn't mean only a different jacket, instead of the jewel case it will be released in a totally different way (look at dir's rinkaku,  sustain etc).

  10. I think for most bigger bands you have to use the present box, if for some reason it's not available then ask the staff about it. In my experience staff (be it venue staff or band's staff) always took my presents or letters for me if I was late and they already packed the box away. Whatever passed will be delivered to the members, what they do with it is up to them.

Also, in my experience at the events of bigger bands you are not supposed to hand presents directly to the musicians.  At some events fans are asked to not bring presents or to use present box (usually they will have some info about it on their twitter or shop's site).

I have one experience with buying a big bouquet to display. Check with the venue they have space for it first. Those displays on a stand cost 15000 yen minimum (usually over 20000, over 30000 if you include the lower level). It also depends on type of flowers, they offer a lot of choice and customize. Flower shop can write a message you want on a board, you can also give them a letter you want band to receive. They will deliver flowers on the day and take care of them after. I would assume that most flower shops would also make and deliver smaller bouquets, smaller ones will probably stay in the backstage area, when those on stands are put in the general area. Look for the flower shops near the venues, then it's most likely they will have this service and had dealt with such orders before.

If the bouquet is more of a normal/smaller size one you could even place it in the present box (flower shops in Japan wrap it in a special paper that has some water, it's safe and doesn't spill). Fans are really respectful here and everyone will be careful with flowers.

I think it is seen as rude in Japan not to wrap your present or put it in a gift bag. Also, don't write your favorite member's name on the paper/bag, that's rude as well, always attach a ticket.

When giving food etc it can't be something that is not obviously store bought and sealed. Anything that is home made or could have been opened will go straight to the bin. I think something useful like everyday items, clothes etc are a good idea. Many members will like alcohol.
