Can someone help me out on this? I'm trying to make sense of different versions of releases (mostly by DEG) 通常盤 → Regular version. Including main CD, sometimes with extras. 初回生産限定盤 → Initial limited version. Literally "first-run limited edition production recording". Often called 初回盤 ("first press"). Different cat.-no. than 通常盤. 初回仕様限定盤 → Initial limited version. Literally "first-run limited edition technical recording". Same cat.-no. as 通常盤. 完全生産限定盤 → Special limited version. 完全受注生産限定盤 → Limited order-only deluxe version. 初回封入特典 → Means that an extra is included, such as a sticker/photo card. 特殊パッケージ仕様 → Means that the jacket is special in some way. Is there anything to add/correct? And what's the difference between 2nd and 3rd?

Have you tried checking mercari, @Duwang? https://www.mercari.com/jp/search/?keyword=Crazy+Shampoo

I assume, WhirlingBlack refers to this setlist, which list*ed UDaL and Setsuna. However, I have an incomplete a complete tereko w/setlist and the song after 藍紫色 is actually Re:birth. But I must say that I've never ever heard of a cassette demo with either of the two tracks as a B-side. The only demo tapes I know of are single/album promos, the two message tapes and the Karma / Aoitsuki demo. I'd be honestly surprised if there's more^^ As for La:Sadie's, you refer to this one, right? I think it's actually a re-recording, though. But my collection is kinda unsorted, so I dunno^^ And yes, I was confused about the name as well. Normally, they put the tape name on the spine, but it appears that in this case, it's the name of the event where the tape was distributed at. Their official discography also gives 生命ノ罪・・・ as the name. (Ignoring the ・・・NAME・・・ vs NAME・・・ issue, of course... seems like they could never really decide ._.)

I can't find any performance in 97 where they played Unknown, though? Do you have some that aren't on livehis/setlist.fm?
  9. Seelentau

Well according to this blog: http://cisum990.blog.fc2.com/blog-entry-145.html Dir indeed used to play some La:Sadie's songs live, but no known setlist has those listed... By the way, my source says that Ranshishoku later became 理由 and that 理由 existed earlier than GAUZE, according to a 2000 interview. Ah, you're here as well? Cool Did you ever got around to uploading the La:Sadie's things etc. I asked you for on twitter?

To add on what @WhirlingBlack said (by the way, you never got back to me in PMs ): 惨劇の夜 was initially once performed as a poem by Kyo and BGM (like INWARD SCREAM nowadays, just w/ coherent Sangeki's lyrics). According to my source, they performed 惨劇の夜 and 霧と繭 at the same time, so it's unclear if the story of "霧と繭 is a clean lyrics version of 惨劇の夜" is really true. You all probably know of Re:birth, which is a fake title for an unnamed early song. There is also another unnamed early song without ANY information, aside of the live recording itself. Performed on 3rd August 1998. It's 04:55 long, so I'm not sure if @WhirlingBlack means this song or a different one? Then there's the early live versions of mazohyst of decadence, cage, raison detre (written in Katakana as レイズンデートル), 残-ZAN- (known as 残-ZAN- (前期型原曲 Ver.)) etc. 刹那 (Setsuna) would later become Unknown...Despair...a Lost. The working title for JEALOUS was CAGE. 蜜と唾 was initially called NS1 (New Song 1), but most of the songs were called either that or 新曲, which also means "new song". Oh and something that had vanished without a trace was the TWO MONSTROUS NUCLEAR STOCKPILES cassette 清水寺, by DEG's Kyo & Kaoru. It was on the internet in, I don't know, 2008? Uploaded on megaupload and other filehosters, but they all deleted it/got shut down, so at least I was never able to find it online. So I did what any reasonable fan would do and bought it from Japan. There are also a lot of demos/samplers floating around, if you want to know more about rare DEG stuff, just hmu

    I suppose y'all don't wanna trade tereko?

Oh hey @Seimeisen, you're an admin here, cool I asked you about the GAUZE LP on discogs a while back, remember? I've added SO much to DEG's discography since then, and I'm still in the process of finding more. You said back then, the GAUZE LP was probably the holy grail of DEG, but it actually is the VULGAR LP, I'd say. There's also this: https://item.mercari.com/jp/m278431689/ - 45k Yen is about 340€, I could've afforded it but it's long sold, of course. But I'm in contact with a person who owns the GAUZE LP, they will send me a picture of a number soon, then I know of three confirmed copies, along with #92 and #61
  14. Seelentau

As I said, it's more of a "theory that is generally thought to be true", or whatever you want to call it. Dunno why you never heard of it before.^^ It's like the tanuki threads about bangya that bang the band members and all that stuff.
  15. Seelentau

Well, back in the day, the internet wasn't what it is today. Besides, there was no official statement, of course. It's just generally accepted by the Japanese fanbase, from what I know.
  16. Seelentau

Yup, to pay for the lawyer costs and what not. Also, there's a VULGAR LP out there somewhere. I've never seen it before, but you could win a copy in a lottery. Catch is, only ten copies exist. Forget the 100 copies of the GAUZE LP, this is the new holy grail of DEG.
  17. Seelentau

Well, it's more of an open secret thing. You can read some more here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dynamite_Tommy#Personal_life
  18. Seelentau

    que?
  19. Seelentau

You should really read the lyrics to JESSICA.
  20. Seelentau

They were actually recorded to help Dynamite Tommy in a lawsuit. As for the re-recordings, I love 腐海, so I hope they don't butcher it. I could imagine them using the live lyrics for the new version, that would be rad.
  21. Seelentau

Yes, they are real and Cowboy World is a venue in Japan, but I'm not sure if the top one isn't a bootleg version of the real one, because of the faint colour and the white stripe... I mean it would suck, but since I only paid 2k yen, it's kinda okay. I just need to buy it again, then. Here's the discogs entries: https://www.discogs.com/Dir-en-grey-1997627-Cowboy-World/release/10824197 https://www.discogs.com/Dir-en-grey-1997614-目黒鹿鳴館/release/10824104 As you can see on the pictures, there's no white stripe on the Cowboy World version, so either I have a misprint or a fake. Or maybe mine was taken from the edge of a bigger paper with multiple covers, like how paper money is produced...? No idea, really...
  22. Seelentau

https://i.imgur.com/2PLWjmb.jpg Does the top one look fake to anyone else? The black colour looks faint, as if the printer ran out of ink, compared to the other version... There's also the white stripe that I've yet to see on any other copy of the tape...
  23. Seelentau

Just ask for a picture of the catalogue number first or ask here.
  24. Seelentau

Yes, I wrote her a message too, telling her about it. She has yet to take it down, though. I didn't even know a bootleg version of the TOUR04 dvd exists, added it to discogs already. In addition to what LIDL said, you can also check discogs for existing bootleg copies (although I have yet to add all of them).
  25. Seelentau

I suppose there's nobody here who has the second Kaede promo VHS? The one with UDaL?
