    I think it's becoming more and more clear with thoughts like this that Visual Kei by itself isn't a genre, but a statement or movement. It similar to fashion; it changes every season and whether you like the latest trends or not, it's what you'll have to bear with. You can wear your old clothes for another year, or you're following the movement with pleasure. It's why I rather wait this movement of Metalcore out until groups to my interest are coming out in small waves again, and until then I stick with what I know.

    If you take music genres apart, the essence of them doesn't change much. Thrash metal will remain as such, Death metal will remain as such, as is similar with a lot of other genres. Surely, new groups form and different sounds can be implemented in their compositions, but the core remains there. Visual Kei has established itself around a lot of such genres and we can only wait until one of the few trends in the rotation is chosen as number one again. And you like these genres or not, it's not as simple as selecting a few bands that might sound a little different for some people. If someone doesn't like Metalcore, let them dislike it. There's no chance that pushing it under their noses and saying they'll get by will change their opinion all that much.

    "UNPOPULAR" opinion: Frequent disbandment is not unique to Visual Kei
    From what I've observed over the years, there seems to be a common notion that the VK scene is highly unstable and unhealthy, and thatVK bands disband at the speed of light. I completely understand why some people might feel this way, but I think perspective is very important here. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of passionate Visual Kei fans abroad - people like @Trombe who tirelessly deliver news from every nook and cranny of the scene, and people like our good MH users here (@Champ213, @Biopanda, @Mi'ihen, @Yuki No Sai, @robkun, @kyoselflove, too many to name) who have gone out of their way to purchase and share all kinds of indie and rare VK goodies with overseas fans, we tend to have a rather enlarged and distorted view of VK as a whole. The overwhelming fervor found in the overseas Visual Kei fanbase simply doesn't exist for most other areas of Japanese music, like Japanese Jazz or folk/ssw for instance (although I wish it did). Bands outside of VK disband all the time - we're just much less aware of them. Most of us are viewing visual kei under a microscope and ignoring the peripheries. Common sense dictates that not every 4 to 5 guys with instruments and a makeup kit will find success.

    Just like the quote above I've spent a lot of time exploring new bands, checking out any samples I can find, etc. I've spent more time than I want to admit doing this lol I've definitely found a lot of shitty bands, but there are also plenty of good and amazing new visual kei bands out there... well, in my opinion.... at least bands that have grabbed my attention anyway.

    I'm digging the new metal/rock movement in the scene.
    But also enjoying the new more poppy artists that are coming out as well.

    I've been a fan since 2006, and for me visual kei still does it.

    auncia loses yosuke, so they become ANSIA.
    ANSIA loses Aki, so now they are NIA.

    "NIA" = three members?
    Or are they getting a new bassist?

    I was really liking them as ANSIA....
    and this is being a fan of theirs as auncia since 2006.

    Wonder if their sound will change much?
    What? Are they gonna become metal cuz that's in? lol
