whitegrey 115 Posted February 17, 2014 This thread needs more love… hmm, I just stumbled upon ЯeaL… seems like I've missed this back in november/december. 4 piece girls band from Osaka, active a bit over 1 year and pretty young (17 y/o), so they're just getting things started (only a self-released 2 track single out). I's a bit on the average girl rock side I guess, the vocals are not perfect (the kind that many find annoying - but with girl rock I can live with it), the backing is pretty solid tho (esp. considering their age). If you like that genre in general (girl bands like FLiP and such) it's really not too bad - good enough for me to keep an eye open for possible future releases. official homepage; http://realgirlsband.wix.com/real 1 DeithX252 reacted to this
whitegrey 115 Posted February 28, 2014 just found this new PV by SATORI... very laid back stuff, nice dual male & female vocals and some jazzy feeling (sax. I guess?). I like it a lot! official homepage; http://satorijp.web.fc2.com/ 2 DeithX252 and enyx reacted to this
enyx 903 Posted March 2, 2014 Never listened to SATORI before, but I really enjoyed that track. I'll be sure to check out more of their stuff. For those that like HaKU, they recently released a new PV out of nowhere: As a follow up to my previous post, la la larks' crowdfunding project for their CD was successful. I'm still not entirely sure if it's going to be a single, mini-album or full-length, but there's a demo for the title track up if anyone's interested: 1 DeithX252 reacted to this
DeithX252 1266 Posted March 3, 2014 la la larks should put new release, I miss Yumi's voice... so far their demo is good
whitegrey 115 Posted March 3, 2014 another 4 piece girl band I recently stumbled upon is yubisaki-nohaku ( 指先ノハク ) [formerly RADITZ]... didn't know them but they sound interesting, I dig their slow parts with nice bass-line and kind of deeper vocals. most of their stuff is up on SoundCloud; https://soundcloud.com/yubisakinohaku 1 DeithX252 reacted to this

whitegrey 115 Posted March 15, 2014 I just discovered ORIE... 3-piece indies with female vocals, founded 2013, one 2-track demo released in november, 1st MV released in february. It's simple and happy with good backing and a nice pace. Can't go wrong with this I guess... official web; http://orieband.jimdo.com 1 Tetora reacted to this
whitegrey 115 Posted March 24, 2014 zakonekotower released their 2nd mini album a week ago and put up a trailer on Soundcloud yesterday... short but good enough to get an impression, the album is available on iTunes (info: http://zakonekotower.com). 『杳として』trailer / Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/zakonekotower/koyghuv5pfr7 and zekkai kujira released their 1st demo recently... good enough for my list to watch out for in future. 1 Tetora reacted to this
whitegrey 115 Posted March 30, 2014 Babel, a project with the singer of 'Lost in the Fog' (check them out if you like this one) just put up a new MV on Youtube a few days ago… It's really really soothing and nice stuff, can't explain the genre - just give it a try. The special thing about Nene (the singer - a girl) is that she uses a made up language - but nonetheless it fits this music-style pretty well so I don't care about those "lyrics" in her works (others have done similar stuff before) Babel - Holy Day PS: I don't want to be the only one posting here… D: tune in plz, I know there are more Indie-lovers around here, no need to hide! =) 1 DeithX252 reacted to this
whitegrey 115 Posted April 4, 2014 yay, gunkan octopus (トウメイカメラ) finally put up a new music video on YT a few days ago… I must admit I totally waited for this for quite some time now - and it seems like it was worth it! トウメイカメラ - 軍艦オクトパス https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8dbTMqLn82s 1 Tetora reacted to this
whitegrey 115 Posted April 11, 2014 no video this time (you guys could really contribute more here... I feel so lost )... I just wanted to mention that SWIM SWEET UNDER SHALLOW released their 3rd Single as a FREE DOWNLOAD! It's nice, laid back stuff with female and dual vocals... Simple but good, I like their stuff so just grab it while it's there. 2 of the songs are already on their 1st album, the 3rd track is a new one I guess. So maybe this is more for people who didn't know them until now. DeithX252 1266 Posted May 2, 2014 I just discovered Qaijff recently female fronted piano rock band! Somehow they remind me of Fat Prop
whitegrey 115 Posted May 20, 2014 Elomaticmill finally released their first (real) PV Music-wise it's more like pop-rock, nothing I'd call 'special-indie' but nice nonetheless and I'm following them for quite a while now - this is fine stuff for people who like earlier pop-rock stuff like 'The Screaming Frogs' or even stuf like Judy and Mary... Give it a try!
DeithX252 1266 Posted May 20, 2014 Thanks for the bump up! will check that band later lately digging Fated Lyeno, they combine punk with groovy jazz, very dope! they will release new mini album tomorrow

Guest mitsu the indie girl Posted May 28, 2014 ^ CAT5, thank you for the recommendations! I'll definitely check out that Last.Fm page! And thanks for sharing that song by Sakura Fujiwara! I really enjoy her voice and the lyrics. Found her CD on CDJapan.... So hehe yay! lol
DeithX252 1266 Posted May 28, 2014 nice post CAT5 and mitsu, lol in the past day I explored some female singer songwriter and want some recommendation, thanks for the bump up 8D oh and for japanese indies, I think I need a community who have high enthusiast to discuss indie band/artist, seems like the last fm group didn't active anymore. It so hard to find these kind of community, and for a people like me who can't explore any newcomer indie artist for myself, I think it's a good idea if we gather the people with same interest into one community and last fm artist page sometimes can be nice place to discuss the artist XD 1 Tetora reacted to this
