I recommend you to write a little about each title. It'll make your thread about a billion times more interesting for readers, and it might spawn soem discussions and stuff.

1st Buried In Verona - Faceless

you may ask me why I put such a normal band to the 1st, and aren't they the same as IKTPQ?

I have to say, no. they're totally different for me, especially from this album.

I've listened to this one for over 10 times till now, I had a special feeling that I've never felt.

-core cilcle of this year is full of nu-metal, yeah, but who could win this nu-metal hybrid battle?

in a pity, there's no winner I think. whether you think which band is overwhelming.

but in fact, BIV does have a new power to this tides of nu-metal and metalcore hybrid.

the only highlight is breakdown parts of each song.

the bad part is the unclean vocal, maybe it's too weird for some people but I think it's okay.

just like Angelo Aita of Abandon All Ships, or Ryan Zimmerman of Greeley Estates, their unclean vocals have a "tear-out feeling" (my friend said).

and Ryan's one is up-side, others are down-side. I have the same feeling too.

whatever you face to this album, I strongly recommend this to the fans of breakdown, not melody.

2nd I Killed The Prom Queen - Beloved

yeah, IKTPQ is back, from this album, and they surely catch fans' eyes, and my interests......

I got the deluxe edition, btw.

the old albums, before 2006, their works are solid and, really generic.

but this one is totally different, if you think it's metalcore, it should be melodic metalcore.

the rhythm guitar riff is powerful, and there are many effects inside.

the clean vocal is pure, another highlight, you could try the song "Thirty One & Sevens".

the unclean vocal, well, simple growls, nothing special, but every word strikes my heart.

and when the two vocals come together, it works out a fantasy world. alongside they keyboard.

some songs are really melodic, try "Calvert Street" and "Nightmares" etc.

anyway, this one is pretty fantastic either for fans like me, or for fans of melody.

3rd To Catch A Fox - Dishearten

this is a new band, yeah, their potential is...... ugahhhhhh!

I'm pretty shocked about this EP when I listened to this for the first time.

a hybrid with screamo/emo post-hardcore, some post-rock elements, one or two doublekick.

could I call this technical post-hardcore? nope, not too much technical riffs.

unclean vocal is full of strongly deep growls differentiates from others, one or two squeal, like Yuki of Lustknot, you know.

breakdown is strong too, atmosphere is pretty fairy, 8 tracks seem to show a story if you neglect the real lyric.

clean vocal is, well, if you love bands like Escape The Fate or Blessthefall......

with some spoken words, are they fans of Enter Shikari??? I'm not a big fan of spoken words though.

in a word, this is a pretty successful debut after line-change.

4th Tell Me A Fairytale - Sleepwalker

a Russian band, I have to recognize some Russian -core bands are very different from other American and European bands.

start with a good intro "I", here comes the title track "Sleepwalker", and then...

WTF! a breakdown with drop C....no no no, it's drop E! (just like I ever said).

and clean vocal is really a highlight, I have to dream...

unclean vocal is pure scream, screamo you know.

drum beats are pretty good too, full of energy.

time of breakdown is very proper I think, let you jump around.

my fav track is " Limitless", it's difficult to express this perfect fantastic song, strongly recommend this song.

generally speaking, TMAF does catch people's eyes using this debut album, at least my eyes.

5th Killing The Messenger - What Matters Most

another brand-new band's debut, another strike of breakdown.

rapidly comes to the first track...

OH! Breakdown Of Sanity??????

this band is a fanboy of BoS, in my opinion. as a big fan of them, I'll love this band of course.

tons of breakdown, over 70% part in a song, rhythmic guitar riffs, alongside melodic guitar riffs.

but not a copy of BoS.

the first 3 tracks are totally breakdown breakdown and breakdown.

from 4 to 6, here comes some post-hardcore influence.

clean vocal appears, and make them more strange, a post-hardcore version of BoS? nope

there are something special, they tried to make atmospheric and experimental songs, like Architects.

but in a result, it becomes another type, only post-hardcore. you could try "Find My Way".

the last track begins with drop C breakdown, another BoS fanboy song, but the next 2 minutes fades in clean vocal.

and melodic shred guitar. finally fades out with chorus.

anyway, a solid work but a nice experiment.

strongly recommend to fans of BoS!

6th Ice Nine Kills - The Predator Becomes The Prey

an old band (just for me), I have the same heart as Intohimo......

they often create traditional post-hardcore sounds in the early times, but this new album gives us a different atmosphere.

a little symthonic, screamo vocals, excellent clean vocal, melodic guitar riffs and vampyre impact to your mind.

everything made up this strong band's new album.

this band is not famous for their breakdown but melody I think. even though I don't concentrate on melodies, but I still love this.

hope they could create more unique sound in the future!

7th For The Fallen Dreams - Heavy Hearts

another "average level" band for most of the "fair critical"......= =

I don't mind what other people said, I really love this album, though it's just normal (as you thought).

I don't have any emotion about this band, I just knew them 4 years ago.

many breakdowns, yes, simple growl, yeah, chugging guitar, of course.

everything seems normal.

but, did you recognize the song structure?

mmm, melodic hardcore plus metalcore often creates good things.

you must try this if you love bands like Hand Of Mercy!

8th Jamie's Elsewhere - Rebel Revive

oh well, featuring so many famous vocalist like Tyler Carter... Need I say I love him very much??? lol (that's another reason for why I love Woe Is Me and Issues so much)

when Pauly went to OM&M, JE seems to lose an important pole of their tree of music, just like the line-up change of Blessthefall, Craig Mabbitt, yeah...

but, just when I decided to not mention them, here comes their new album, and, another time, stroke my heart string.

the whole of this album is emo post-hardcore with synth. but it's not synthcore.

clean vocal is really okay, alongside those famous vocalists.

unclean vocal is between the screaml and tear-out growl, nice!

a little short I think, if add two or three songs will be better.

for fans of early Woe Is Me and That's Outrageous!

9th Architects - Lost Forever//Lost Together

experimental metalcore! I'm not so crazy about this genre actually, but just like Iwrestledabearonce, there are some particular bands of this genre.

Architects is one.

I really don't know why people hate this so much (saw some reviews of this album, most of them are bad critical words.)

my first time to listen, I mistook regarding this as a recent work of Greeley Estates. = =

vocal is perfect for me, despite the spoke words parts......

breakdown is the highlight, with post-hardcore influence.

some songs even have technical death metal riffs, and good guitar chugging. well, nearly close to "technical metalcore" like ABR.

well, really excellent work of a famous English band. gj guys!

10th Dead By April - Let The World Know

modern metalcore from Gothenburg, the origin of modern metal......

people called them "pop metal" made me lmfao... (pop metal= bands like avant-garde metal Pin-Up Went Down straightly use pop songs put into tracks not pop elements......)

DBA becomes one of my favourite bands of all time since 2009.

like the things they made before, good beats, chugging only guitar, neglect easily bass, many keyboard synths, emotional clean vocal, screams...

that's it, nothing much.

their new work is pretty normal, but I still love it.

my fav of them is still their debut st album then.

for fans of Sonic Syndicate, The Unguided and Renegade Five.

modern rock lover can't let this go!!!

score 9.1/10

I can easily see that our taste are like day and night, but kudos for writig a little (no, way more than a little) about each album. Neither of these are my cup of tea at all, but it's an interesting read anyway. Great work!

People don't like this because it isn't Hollow Crown. That album kicks ass :)

11th Alesana - The Decade

...when the legend ends at 2011, and restart at 2013, I realized Alesana changed a lot...

you should try to look at their 2013 new single "Fatima Rusalka" firstly.

then you'll know what I means.

about this EP, I have to say this is the real post-hardcore now (not the old ones like Fugazi did).

the scream is deathcore-used "contemporary vomit" and growl. splendid!

the clean vocal is highlight, very heart-striking and powerful, with some emo, fantastic!

the surrounding is changing when you listen to this EP, like a building under construction.

another highlight is the last hidden track, nice ballad with beautiful piano melodies.

recommend: "Double Or Nothing" "Ravenous" "Nevermore" "Hidden Track"

12th Memphis May Fire - Unconditional

a solid album from a solid band.

yeah, really solid and hard. extreme screamo side of post-hardcore, with some okay clean vocal.

you should listen to this track by track from first to last, better not to listen to individually, I think.

instruments are really normal, maybe the only highlight is clean vocals.

unclean vocal is only growl and scream like other bands did.

many metalcore elements with synths, and memorable melodies, breakdowns are, well, just so-so.

but does make out a good feeling, and really fits the drum beats.

this is how the technical post-hardcore like, in the future, at least, if there's less chugging guitar riffs.

mmm, pretty okay album, I don't hope too much at first. but really fits for traditional post-hardcore fans (2000-2008 era).

score 9/10
