Pretsy 1343 Posted February 9, 2014 OHP: http://www.wagakkiband.jp/ The Wagakki Band, which consists of seven musicians and the singer Yuko Suzuhana, deftly fuses traditional Japanese instruments with contemporary rock. Though the stage may get a bit crowded with a drummer, a guitarist, a bassist, a tsugaru-jamisen(Japanese lute) player, a koto (Japanese harp) player, a shakuhachi (Japanese flute) player, a taiko drummer, and a fan-swinging singer, they manage to put on a surprisingly dynamic and cohesive performance. (quoting because I am too lazy to write an introduction of my own, but hey, let the videos guide your decisions!) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y-Ae6spVDqs members + previous bands/side-projects (some of them) Vocals: Yuko SuzuhanaShakuhachi: Daisuke Kaminaga (SUPER JOHN BROTHERS, KAO=S)Koto: Kiyoshi IbukuroShamisen: Beni NinagawaTaiko drums, BG vocals: Kurona (Crow×Class〜黒鴉組〜)Guitar, BG vocals: Machiya (m:a.ture)Bass: Asa (various vocaloid acts)Drums: Wasabi (Yugen Elechord) They will have a major debut album (consisting of vocaloid covers) out 2013/4/23, and it's called "ボカロ三昧" (Bokaro Zanmai (?)). In the meanwhile though, you can digest their mini-album here !!!

Scarlet Obsidian 383 Posted March 18, 2014 I usually don't like Vocaloid, but sung and played with those instruments...these songs are awesome!! *__*
PsychoΔelica 648 Posted March 9, 2015 Been getting into them recently. I think they are awesome. I really like the enka-esque quality in the singer's voice (on other occasion it might've annoyed me but it's perfect here), and how all the instruments are complimenting each other. Pretty appropriate music for the season I bet they are spectacular to watch live. Gotta say the choice to cover vocaloid songs is pretty odd to me though.
