They are currently signed onto Sony Music Japan's Epic Records Japan record label. he band was formed on October 2004 by Uchimura, while their first live performance took place in December of the same year. In 2007, their debut album, school food is good food, was released. In 2008, both of their songs, "feedback" and "Futari Umi no Soko" were featured as theme songs to the Japanese television drama Joshidaisei Kaikeishi no Jikenbo, while their mini-album "Riff-rain" was released by Tower Records and sold out in under a week. They also performed in numerous live concerts, including FM802, part of the Minami Wheel 2008 live event, and the J-Wave Live event, part of the Tokyo Real Eyes Live Supernova. In 2009, they signed onto their first major record label, Sony Music Japan's Epic Records Japan division. Their major label debut is "futuristic imagination", which is the ending theme to the Kenji Kamiyama anime television series Eden of the East, airing on the highly rated noitaminA timeslot on Fuji TV. Amongst their first projects was contributing to Judy and Mary's 15th Anniversary Tribute Album, in which they covered the band's "Brand New Wave Upper Ground" song, with their performance praised by sources such as The Japan Times as having been the highlight of the album and having evoked Judy and Mary's songwriting and musical values. Yumi Uchimura (born on September 6, 1983, from Chiba) lead vocals, guitars, songwriter. She formed the band. Favorite musicians： Ringo Shiina, Kuuki Koudan, Spangle call Lilli line Masayuki Hasuo (born on February 7, 1983, from Niigata) keyboards, composer. Favorite musicians： Melt-Banana, at.the.drive-in Hideaki Yamasaki (born on December 4, 1974, from Tottori) bass guitar, backing vocals, composer. He joined the band in 2008, after scope (he left in 2002) and Watanabe (he left in 2004), etc. Favorite musicians： Ringo Shiina, Radwimps, Grapevine Osamu Hidai (born on November 24, 1981, from Kanagawa) drums, composer. I would also go for their first two: school food is good food and air feel, color swim. I listened to both of their full lengths. amp-reflection is better than Prog-Roid IMO but they're both lacking a certain quality that their first three mini albums have. I suppose that as they bend more towards the pop side of the musical spectrum and away from the electronic pyrotechnics they're losing it for me. They're still an amazing band and you shouldn't let my opinion affect which releases to check out (except the part about the other two minis - do go get those). I'm just not super into pop-music, that's all. And with that said that video did nothing much for me. Both their full lengths had one song that got me (line and RPG respectively). toshii9245 0 Posted November 22, 2011 When I first intended to check them out, a friend also recommended me School Food is Good Food and Air Feel, Color Swim since that EPs were basically an awesome blend of electronic and shoegaze music with beautiful female vocals, and it was proven later when I gave them a spin. I've been stuck with those two for quite some time and wanting to hear more.. I heard amp-reflection was their best release thus far? Idk. Listened to some songs already and it was shoegaze-pop-y, unlike School Food is Good Food and Air Feel, Color Swim--which actually wasn't a bad thing, but I'm more fond of their initial sounds. CAT5 9075 Posted December 7, 2011 um....wow. Now that I've actually listened to the entire single, I must admit "how to go" is actually a great track. The 2nd track "帰る" is boring, and the 3rd track "君に、胸キュン。-浮気なヴァカンス-" is kinda nice. Still, I'm surprised that I enjoyed the title track so much! ;o Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Wind 195 Posted December 14, 2011 "君に、胸キュン。-浮気なヴァカンス-" is a Yellow Magic Orchestra cover btw. It was also used as the ED for the first Maria-Holic anime, though again, it was a cover version. Not gonna lie, I actually prefer SFP post-major debut. Their indie stuff tended to be a little too indie for me. "futuristic imagination" as a whole speaks wonders about the direction they've taken in their career for the past three years, and for the better if I may.
