I think they may be referring to the fandom as a whole, which I suppose MH would fall into as well. If I'm reading this right, you're trying to make distinctions as to why VK (and the artists we follow, more specifically) is appealing by old/new fans, and want to specifically correlate the various reasons provided down to the 2 sexes (stay back you others, we don't know what they mean yet)? I don't think the answers will be so cut/dry as "X" likes this, and "Y" likes that , as you think they'll be. Too many factors at play.

So I went to watch QT's new film Once Upon a Time In Hollywood this weekend, blind, and I was so confused as to what this film was about until the very end lol. It was probably not the best choice, but I did it, and for me it made the film a much better experience.

I feel the same way about lychee fruit. I can drink flavored stuff but eating the fruit is not worth it lol.

I can do flavoring, but there's something I don't like about the texture and having it in my mouth. Reminds me of biting the skin off your fingers, and what you get is legit the same texture as a coconut. I'm good.

@Zeus Sounds to me like reality is hitting you hard, or rather the reality you were probably well aware of already is becoming clearer and clearer, and you can't keep up with processing it into your everyday life, so it's become your new life. Similar situation for me currently. I am aware that Denver is not Chicago, and I could go on forever about how it's kicking my ass and how much I hate it for changing me as a person, but I think that unless some good fortune comes my (and especially my gf's, the poor girl) way, I know we're going to have to move back. It's just a matter of when the fuck I'm going to make that call. There's simply less help here for someone like myself, and unless becoming some sort of dependable entrepreneur is going to help with the other shit I'm doing with contract work to build my rep up, sustaining both of us (my gf's had wayyyy worse luck this year holding a job) is going to eat at me until I say something I don't mean to her. I knew the risks, and I'm swimming in needles, hoping to alleviate that pain in some way, where instead I should just get out of the fucking pool. Edit: If anything, thank god I can smoke pot here cuz there's nothing else I like about this place so far. Illinois' legalization in 2020 is going to bring me back home without so much as a second thought, so I'm simply waiting.

Over the years, I've been asked why I enjoy listening to deadman so much, and more specifically, how I find Mako's voice appealing at all. While this may sound like a dumb question to a majority of the older MH members here, I want to provide my insight if it helps at all. I think @saishuu said it best: deadman became one of the best forms of "comfort music" to newcomers and old-fucks of the VK scene alike. With that, I've completely lost my train of thought, and feel a lot better now, so yay.

I'm not an expert in finance, but I'd say that the value and prioritization in your credit score when it comes to loans and investments surely does make it feel very cutthroat here. Given that many credit card companies lure in many materialistic and ignorant youths (I was once one) like American Express and stores that have deals with VISA and MASTERCARD (think brick and mortar stores like Best Buy or Airlines/Gas Stations) with "great" intro APR rates, it's hard to assess whether owning more cards or how often you use them, will affect your score. Not paying them off on time does ding it, but sometimes never using them does the same thing lol. It also depends on how long you've had your oldest card for. I think for me its like 5 or so years now, so this has helped me maintain a steady score. If I were to suddenly say "I don't want to use this card anymore", I'd actually hurt my score more if I were to call and cancel it, as opposed to just leaving it in your bedroom drawer for a rainy day emergency. Same goes for bank accounts, ironically.

Ooh, a "how fucked are you in debt" thread. Nice. (I'm American btw) Back in Chicago, IL I was able to pay off everything for my schooling, so I owe nothing there. I never give myself credit there, but I should. I also managed to pay off 3 credit cards (while spending just as much on them) very easily, as I made a lot of money at my last job with overtime. Young kid with a nice job, why not live a little, right? I'd say I bought everything I ever wanted in my earnings range, so now I rarely buy anything if it wont stay with me for 5+ years. Here in Denver, CO (and all this year) however, life has not been so kind to me or my vehicle, and with repairs and health insurance steadily creeping to a point where it makes no sense, I'm questioning whether life here was a wise decision. Contract work may play a large part to it, but it was a decision I made, and a carefree way of earning experience and work while I focus on other things. I'd say that once I was settled in, I had a combined debt of about 9-10K, and while that may suck a bit, I always plan to handle scenarios like this with large payments and financing options that don't hurt my credit score. I think I'm down to about 4K that is not locked down in payments for the next year or so, so if I wanted to I could pay it all off in one go, but like I said, I would be screwed if something happened and I needed my cash to take care of it. $0 debt is great, but to maintain a credit score at it's highest, you need to play their stupid game here in the USA, and spend a little/pay it off soon. People were so wise a few years back to roll-over remaining debt into a balance transfer to another card, but those companies have wised-up and charge a percentage fee now lol.

Which is why what happened to KyoAni really hit me hard. Reality still has not hit me with that news, and I'm wondering how those animators will ever return to work knowing what happened. I really do hope that the rest of the studios in Japan learn from what happened and change the ways they treat/pay their animators, because they could lose them tomorrow and being petty just isn't worth it.

One punch man was a good binge, but I haven't watched the second season, and I'm afraid to. Same goes for TG and the newest seasons of MHA and SnS. Ya see, the thing studios never seem to understand is: Once an anime has made it to timeless status, you DON'T go and make another season. Since Shonen Jump stuff is always doomed from the start, I can't defend them, but a series like FLCL was never supposed to have a sequel, let alone 2 wtf. My gf and I just started watching this, and yeah, the animation style is too "ghibli" for me to watch an entire season of. I'm trying though. Edit: Yeah, I'm surprised you looked up Air Master too. I hope you didn't watch an episode lol.

In terms of the animation styles no longer being done manually, I agree. Nothing will hold a candle to anime like Vision of Escaflowne or even perv shit like Golden Boy, but I think that anime has changed drastically to a more "its for X" type of fan-base. I never thought isekai would have gone south, quality wise, as that used to be my favorite genre. Since studios combined can shit out 20+ anime a season (I hate the seasonal anime formula itself) with the latest tech, its no wonder that OGs like us cling to old times lol. Weeblo peasants gonna peasant. I think that what you're looking for has not been discovered yet, and like you, I'm not gonna dig through that shitpile to find it haha. I've been impressed with the old stuff I've finally watched recently like Great Teacher Onizuka (GTO) and Iria Zeiram, and am probably gonna keep doing so. Oh and to contribute: I saw Air Master the other day and holy fuck, that was some bad animation. Don't get me started on the dub voices haha. The plot too, like wtf? Easily on my top 3 worst anime I've ever watched.

There's no easy answer for that, and I for sure don't have it all figured out. I've seen that same reality myself where there are people with a stronger willpower (these are people that can say no to drugs, go cold-turkey on a drug addiction and recover, bounce back into life after a break-up/ending a relationship, etc.) and can easily develop/or already have that formula that will allow them to organize their thoughts and not have them spill over when contemplating their life choices/decisions. At times I can do that, and I thank the years I spent in solitude growing up for this, but sometimes there are new scenarios that I can't deal with, and I realize my limitations. You mention trying to help others due to this, and from my point of view, do you think it's because we are trying to understand why people aren't like us? I know I have, and I also know then and there whether or not I can/should help them, and I'll tell them this. Most times its not what they want to hear, and I think it has more to do with never actually being told that that surprises them and leads to the confusion and anger, breaking that false reality of "friends" and "help". It ties in with my perception of the "safe spaces" and "ted/free talks" of today, and idk.......I just get paranoid about what people will be like in 100 years. @Zeus' thoughts on how there are/will no longer be individual geniuses in society (from his reasons) gave me the food for these thoughts too. Perhaps I'm thinking too much in the long term idk, but if we plateau in the near future, I'll know exactly why.

I laugh at this because I've heard this many times, from many perspectives. When someone tells me that I should "do what makes me happy", when the topic really needs involvement from those in the conversation, I rarely take this one-liner as sincere advice. I know that what they really mean is either "you're not gonna listen to what I say, so do whatever the fuck you want (but don't come bitching about this again later)" or "this is (probably) not a good idea/solution/process overall, but I'm not your keeper so you do you". Personally it's something I would not beat around the bush with, and just say straight to their face because well, it's reality (and everyone's living in it). I'm also a cynical person, so take this with a grain of salt too. I see the people in this current world as nothing but shadows to someone else's life, and they secretly don't want to identify someones frustration/misery to their own (also maybe because they're living through someone else's idea of happiness and reality will fuck with that). I'd also venture to say that people are desperate for happiness, and usually I feel that this desperation stems from a mistake/poor choice in their lives (possibly by their doing), where now they don't care where that happiness comes from but they'll take it. Sometimes it's not even their happiness they're indulging in, and in a fucked up way, that's people who say things like "I'm happy if you're happy" or "My happiness is your happiness". Not bashing on those people, but "happiness" is "achieved" in one form or another, and this direction is definitely not enough for me.
