♪♫ faaat child, faaat child~ ♪♫ Honestly tho this was probably the most pleasant I've heard Meev in a long time! Not sure how or why it's "MIYAVI vs 雅 -MIYAVI-" (unless it just refers to the fact that there's no collab artist on this track, heh).

When they mentioned it's gonna be 'experimental' and 'jazzy' I expected something different... This literally sounds like usual MUCC. Not bad by any means tho.

Never heard these guys, but they seem to sound like an actually listenable Ling tosite sigure because of the vocals, pretty nice!

Interesting that they switched back to katakana (wondering whether it's only for this occasion or if it will remain). Looking forward to the mini, still.

Finished this one recently, it was okay but it took quite a bit of 'power reading' to get through it. Not totally boring but not amazingly enjoyable either. Currently reading a novel titled Budapesti skizo (Budapest Schizo) by the late Hungarian author Attila Hazai. It does not have much of a plot so far, it's more like the ramblings and everydays of a drugged-out hasbeen underground artist (the protagonist), but despite this it's a strangely entertaining and compelling read.

I've been kinda slacking on the latter Kiyoharu albums/singles, but a new release is always welcome!

Wow. It takes a certain level of perversity to have four members playing actual instruments in your band and then release something where you can literally only hear the vocalist, a teeny tiny quiet guitar solo and a massive wall-of-compression electro-schlock.

It actually sounded like a breath of fresh air to me (and I never thought I'd ever say that about Jin's voice, lol). Pretty much the same as always imo.

This song is seriously giving me NEGA (the later years). A bit tired sounding, but I'd rather take this over another TBS-ish band. edit: LMAO I completely forgot we already had a song by these guys. That one was terrible, this one was okay, so dunno what to expect anymore really... xDDD

So, anyone else watched the Season 11 RuVeal live thingie? It was stilted and cringey af imo, and I'm not really feeling all these samey queens so far. I'm totally, completely, thoroughly here for Silky, Yvie and of course Miss Vanjie tho. The whole thing can now be watched on VH1's Youtube channel, along with 'Meet the Queens' intro videos for each contestant.

Pretty cool day today! It's bassist Higuchi Yutaka's 52nd birthday, and 29 years ago on this day the band's single "Aku no hana" was released! What makes it extra special is that the B-side "UNDER THE MOON LIGHT" (which is exclusive to this single, not appearing on the later album) has writing credits from U-ta, penning the lyrics. This makes this track the only one in B-T's history where U-ta contributed writing something. It's a fun little song but personally I'm not too crazy about it. I'd link it but no one has uploaded it on YT (awww ).

@Bear I had no idea there was an original, haha! Might seek it out later, in hopes that it's better than this one. btw I saw 'Los Parecidos' on Netflix, it's still up there in my region at least (title is 'The Similars').

Haven't found a really 'unique' sounding VK band among the newer ones, they sound mostly same-ish to me, but that's okay cuz most of the older bands sounded same-ish too to a certain extent, in their own time (even tho I liked that 'sameyness' more than the current young generation, if that makes sense). That said, I'm enjoying Verxina, Rands, DIMLIM (if they count as newer) and to some extent Mamireta out of the more recent bunch of bands. Can't rationally describe why, it's just down to very little things, like the vocals in Verxina (cuz otherwise they are Basic New-Kei Band #2363) or the whole '90s throwback aesthetic and sound of Rands.
