DOBE has released their new 1-track digital single titled "新宿アスホール" (Shinjuku Asshole) on 2020/02/09. It's available at a bunch of places: https://www.tunecore.co.jp/artist/DOBE#r593431 Song lyrics can be read HERE. It's a fun track, I like it~

Hey thanks for that video, I didn't realize Dudes have any music out! His voice is kinda weird in this, different from Droog times... not sure I like ittttt, haha (and yeah, Lüstzöe is kinda lame)
-
@BrenGun The Birthday has ex-members from Thee Michelle Gun Elephant, you might know them (the sound is similar too). It's been a loooong time since I last listened to them, but I always liked this MV: edit: Almost forgot, Droog were pretty cool back in the day too. Not sure what they're up to nowadays, I stopped following them shortly after they signed to a major label (their style became a bit bland). This one's from their first major release iirc, still good stuff:

Let me take a moment to drop my fave workaholic singer-songwriter rocker Kenichi Asai here, he needs more love!!! Even though you could say his stuff has become "predictable", it's a comfortable sound for me. He'll always be the coolest (non-VK musician) to me.

Yeah, they only have an official Twitter... (I don't think they're that big tho, but hoping they will be one day. Anyway, they're just a side project so I don't expect them to last long, but the more time they're active the better. ) About Kizu, I think others (i.e. Kizu fans) might be able to say with more certainty, but I think they might have some "insider/industry connections", hence the good production on their videos and the constant buzz... not sure.

I think these would have to be the currently active formed-after-2012 bands I really really like: La'veil MizeriA, RAKU×GAKI, Verxina, Rands (also adding sukekiyo and Hector, tho not sure if they fit here because they have kinda oyaji members lol) @BrenGun I guess not many ppl talk about gibkiy because their music is SUPER weird/abrasive/unconventional. But cool to hear they're playing at nicer venues (honestly, I don't follow their schedules rly, just sometimes listen to their stuff).

The English Street Team posted a translation of the message... sounds like maybe he just got tired I guess?
-
This was actually one of the more pleasant/bearable Kiryu tunes I've heard so far, haha. Not bad! But that's probably because I usually find them to be too all-over-the-place messy.
-
Dude on the right looks like he'll leave the band after 3 months due to musical differences, r.i.p.
-
Well played, guys.

It's a synonym for ending credits (like at the end of a movie).
-
Nice, gonna check it out once it drops~

kein - 朦朧の実 😍 Thank you again, @ghost!

They also played at LUNA SEA's 2018 "LUNATIC FEST", don't forget! Too bad they didn't play any LS cover, but at least we got a SUGIZO collab out of it.
-
DEG would definitely spice up a potential B-T tribute fest lineup, looking at most of these other bands, lol.......
-
Here's DIR EN GREY's rendition of the BUCK-TICK track "NATIONAL MEDIA BOYS" from the recent B-T tribute album (until it gets taken down) I thought it was quite good! I like how they changed it up and made it their own (unlike most of the other bands judging from the samples).
-
Looking forward to it! 'Minimal' and 'electronic' reminds me of SEXY STREAM LINER which is a good sign, but I vaguely remember being reminded of that album once or twice before when they made new album announcements, so I'm just going in with no expectations instead, haha.

I hope Mana opens an occult bed & breakfast joint in the woods soon. Screw MdM, this is where the real money's at!!
-
^ Yeah, honestly I hope they either go with a support member at the very least, and not end up like some lame-ass bands who have one guitarist and a wall of playback while playing gigs.
-
The old albums had that info in the booklets iirc. I don't have my MERRY CDs with me at the moment so I just quickly ran through that one lyrics translation site, it has the composition credits for everything that is known I guess (probably also taken from the albums' booklets?). Also yeah, it's weird to imagine the band without Kenichi... I just hope both him and the band will find their ways that will make them happy.
-
Maybe he wasn't feeling them either... I don't know about the last mini album and the full-length, but before those the number of Kenichi's songwriting credits were on a steady decline from album to album as far as I could see.
-
Soooo MERRY just announced that Kenichi (guitars) will be leaving the band in May 2020. A final tour is in the works as five-piece. Afterwards, MERRY will continue with four members (no word yet on whether they will recruit a support or fulltime 2nd guitarist). Announcement on YT: Message from the band: Jesus, this sucks... they've been practically together without any member changes for almost 20 years... Hoping for the best!

Splurged and bought all of DOBE's singles digitally @ OTOTOY. ;w;
