To mark the 20th anniversary of the release of MUCC's first-ever single "娼婦/廃" (Shoufu/Hai), the band will release a special re-recorded version titled "娼婦 2020" (Shoufu 2020). Tooru Yoshida (keyboardist/producer who has supported MUCC in various ways recently) has overseen the production of this release, while guitarist Miya dealt with remastering duties where applicable. Famed horror mangaka Junji Ito did the cover art (who also designed the band's classic "Houmura uta" cover). The single is a made-to-order product, so they will only produce as many copies as the number of orders they receive for it, starting from 2020/06/09. Tracklist: 01 娼婦 (Shoufu) 2020 02 娼婦 (Shoufu) 2006 03 娼婦 (Shoufu) 2000 Original Mix 04 娼婦 (Shoufu) 1999 Demo Cover art: (There's also a whole line of Junji Ito collaboration goods being produced apparently.)

As someone who really enjoyed the band's early releases but not so much the latter/more recent output, this feels a bit lame to me. No matter what flaws the original recordings might have, things like this usually don't end up being good or necessary (like 8 out of 10 times).

LMAO of course it's CHOP! They've been livestreaming stuff like crazy these past few months (tho mostly for free, with optional donations). I might've even seen the CHOP Twitter account retweet the band's announcement about it but i didn't make the connection in my head. Thanks for digging up the pics and the info. I'm sort of excited about that mysterious last bit. "That summer 20 years ago" coincides right with the Blue Film mini album (released in July 2000), hmmmmm edit: Just saw the new bandpic btw: Also Ao tweeted something about uploading something on Youtube in a few hours (?).

Gotcha! I seem to vaguely recall Edelweiss but something about them didn't click for me. I might re-visit.
-
Not sure if this was pointed out before but their upcoming 4-track single will be available digitally at a bunch of places: (also you can see the cover art in the above tweet)

Setlist looks pretty okay! If I understood correctly, those who paid for the stream will have a chance to re-watch it in some sort of archive form later, tho I highly doubt us plebs will ever get to see it, heh. Also yeah, agreed @Tokage wtf, time flies fast when 2/3 of your band activity is releasing FC-only stuff huh. :^)

You had me at "Black Magick SS". I sampled their stuff, seems good so far! (also wow they released quite a bit already) btw I checked the new BMSS album not long ago too, it was okay but I preferred the previous one.

Vocalist Ichirou has also released a digital-only collection album of his own on 2020/06/01, under the project name ドクテロイチロウとおかしな仲間たち (DOKUTERO ICHIROU to okashi na nakamatachi) containing various tracks he did outside of Dokusatsu TERRORIST. Again, available at a multitude of online platforms HERE. (edited the original post with this info too)

I'm sorry, someone had to speak the truth.
-
HOLY FUCK, they did so many videos! :'DDD This one's great, Tetsu can't help striking the Himuro Pose™ every 20 seconds, lmao.
-
Good to hear Papa Tetsu keeps truckin' along. The piano intro sounds almost like it could have been written by MALICE MIZER, haha.
-
Bordering on cringe, but this somehow ended up the least worst thing I've heard from an ex-MEJIBRAY project so far??? Wouldn't jump to calling it straight-up good tho.
-
The worst of mediocre deathcore coupled with the lowest of mediocre VK - what a combo!!!
-
They actually kinda did that a few years ago, for LUNACY 黒服限定GIG ~the Holy Night~! ...at least most of the members did. Here's a random clip:

Tracklist added now.

即ち性。(Sunawachi Saga.) has released a new one-track digital single titled 水槽 (Suisou) on 2020/04/20, available on various platforms. Haven't seen this reported here so I thought I'd make a thread for all the approx. 4 ppl interested, lol.
-
Honestly, this pico-pico project seems to be the most promising out of these random trashy bands so far, lol. #justiceforBootlegSandoicchi

YESSS give the people what they want (and what they want is sweet sweet grainy in-livehouse camera recordings).
-
ZIZ is literally coming out with new songs every week right now tho, haha. Don't worry, I'm sure they'll continue VAMQUET too (must be hard juggling so many projects I guess, but at least they look like they're always having fun and trying out whatever they like at the moment).
-
Aaaand HERE's the second track 二十二世紀ピーキー (Nijuuni-seiki Peaky)! The vocoder and all the weird industrial effects yeeeeees~

Sadie Pink Galaxy (XA-VAT, SPEECIES, JUBILEE) and Közi (XA-VAT, ZIZ, VAMQUET etc.) have been hinting at working together on something in the past few months, and now Sadie broke the news on Twitter. They will release a single titled 今夜はロマンシングー (Kon'ya wa RomancinGoo) under the project name SADIY&KÖZIY. The record will contain 3 new songs plus their karaoke versions, and it will be released both as a CD and as a cassette sometime later in June (I think?). The style looks very '80s pop, so I'm curious what this will sound like.
