ooooh is this the dude from this Joker? Been a long time! Song's kinda plain but not bad.

Now this is a first: the band upped an English subtitled version of the new PV! Awesome. Wish they included translations in their booklets too, like they did for the "Miracle" album (dunno how many other releases they have with translations in total tho).

To be honest, I was absolutely underwhelmed by THE NOVEMBERS' album. I'm not a big fan to begin with, but I kinda took a liking to most of their previous releases (especially the last few albums), but this one was just utter punishment for me. So, so boring.

Ooh their last album was nice! Lowkey looking forward to this.

Sneak peek from the photoshoot of 2016/01/07's Ongaku to hito magazine: https://www.instagram.com/p/_ZNGkBKCqC/ btw the album is ready now, mastering is finished too. We should be getting some sort of preview soon.

Thanks for the thorough list, @Bear! I now have Downfall of Nur and Devouring Star in my playlist. Might try Dødheimsgard too.

Ouch. May he get better soon!

Once again, Pitchfork floods me with a barrage of "who the fuck is this?" artists, lol. I guess I'm just not hip enough. The albums by Earl Sweatshirt, Vince Staples and Kendrick Lamar were nice tho, I have to mention (all worthy of top-50 material for sure).

I was in the mood for some dark & grim stuff, so I did some digging around and catching up in terms of 'black metal 2015'... Some of my findings so far that sounded pretty cool: Odious - Skin Age / Egyptian band playing symphonic black metal with lots of melodic oriental flair... at times a bit too over-the-top with all the extra orchestration, but that's what gives it its special atmosphere I guess. In any case, very much fun to listen to, even for those who are usually not that much into "full-on br00tal" extreme metal. Batushka - Litourgiya / Mysterious Polish group mixing elements of black, doom and post-black metal with the sound of orthodox Slavic (?) liturgies and hymns and stuff. That should already tell you that even if it weren't much musically, the atmosphere would be top-notch, but thankfully everything's in order here. Creepy, ritualistic, majestic - killer record. Au-Dessus - Au-Dessus / This is only an EP (the band's debut release), but a really fine one. The 'experts' say this is post-black metal, well I dunno, but it sure is great. Very nice feel with some melancholic and powerful melodies, and is surprisingly varied (but not wandering out of the usual BM spectrum much). Oh, btw the drum work is excellent! A nice surprise. Non Opus Dei - Diabeł / Solid avantgarde-experimental black metal, actually quite digestable despite being kinda chaotic and dissonant most of the time. They got dat mystical menacing feel on point.

^ Haven't really seen any good-quality versions of any of these tracks before (plus, they're pretty much lost in the dead links of the net by now I would guess), so it's certainly a welcome gesture imo. I hope more and more indies-bands will follow...

I'm not a big fan of any of these studios, but I did enjoy these ones more than others I saw from them: - Princess Mononoke (pretty badass & looks cool) - Spirited Away (nice atmosphere & story) - The Lion King (childhood nostalgia) - Tarzan (childhood nostalgia) - Wall-E (idr the reason rly... robots? rekt future #aesthetics?) ...oh, and A Goofy Movie, but I didn't see that listed up there...

This is the only 'newer' relevant thread I could find to post this in, sorry... XD Here's the setlist of BUCK-TICK's first "DAY IN QUESTION" gig of the year, 2015/12/13 at Hokuto Bunka Hall. btw this year, instead of just one special "DAY IN QUESTION" live, they're doing a small tour finishing with 2015/12/29 at Nippon Budokan. such a great set, omg.

Hah, I totally forgot to count this release when I was keeping track of the stuff I was listening to this year... I guess cuz it's only a collection of previously released (tho hard-to-find) tracks. In any case, it's a solid addition to the DEZERT catalogue, nice one. Makes me more hyped for their upcoming new album.
