  1. SCREW was the 3rd VK band I discovered after the GazettE and D'espairsRay so they'll always hold a special place in my heart as part of what I refer to now as 'the first wave'. Many, many more have followed since then, it's just so easy to pick up new bands when you hear something you like and there's plenty to look into so I'm sure you'll find some good stuff.

    Welcome 😁

Also I do love good fics but sadly there aren't nearly as many around these days as there used to be.

My computer can easily handle gigabyte size files, so if the file is in vob (which most Memento Mori stuff is, since I'm planning to rip their last live DVD), that'd be best anyway

Ah, that's good then, my PC is jam packed with my own .vob rips of band PV's. Good luck with your live DVD rip.

  3. The problem with .vob and the reason most people shy away from them is they are very big files. An average movie will come out between 3 and 5GB depending on the movie because it is essentially a direct ripped copy of the raw data on a DVD. In this case a lot of people choose to convert to .mkv because the converted file can be compressed and will come out considerably smaller with minimal loss of quality. Personally, I stick with .vob because I don't like any loss of quality but I'm just picky.

wow didnt knew that....well i wasnt really deep into the band anyway so it aint a big shock...but good to see that there other band with the same musician. :)

Oh yes your right dir en grey has a lot acoustic and unplugged stuff, actually right after hearing their acoustic stuff did i grew a liking towards acoustic stuff  thats why im looking for more :)

On that note though, I wouldn't let disbandment put you off listening to The Black Swan, Nega or any other disbanded band because the music is still relevant. I've listened to a lot of bands over the years who had long since disbanded by the time I found them and if I'd let that put me off then I would have missed out on seeing Dio -Distraught Overlord- on their Euro reunion tour.

Good luck with your searching though, I do believe the Japanese rock scene still has a lot to offer old and new.

  5. Hi all,

I've been a member since 2012 but I don't think I ever made an introduction post back then, truth is I'm not actually the most talkative person in the world but I did pop up in a few threads here and there. After that, I lost touch with MH for quite a while but some recent events within the fandom brought me back and since then I've been back every day not just for that but all the news, so I thought I'd pop up again.

I got into VK in 2010 via the GazettE and to this day they remain my favorite band. At the time me and my friend agreed we wouldn't look any further than them because it would be too 'dangerous', at least for me anyway. That lasted all of about a week before I went snooping and discovered D'espairsRay, then Screw and then it just spiralled from there. Whenever I get bored, I always end up looking for new VK music to listen to and they all just accumulate on my PC and in my CD collection. Active bands I follow besides the GazettE are Diaura, Razor, Reign, a few others and I recently got into Kizu and Fixer.

Outside of VK, the other place I haunt on a regular basis is the blu ray site as I'm also an avid collector of movies and TV shows and that's about it.

    Thanks all.
