The return album and Deicida of Silence were equally DeG-derivative, but I still think Deicida was notably better. Aged or not, that album sounds like a really long playlist of demos lol. Filling the lineup helped a lot and THE SWAN and XIII both sounded pretty original to me. It was a fun progression to watch play out. At the point they left off I thought they could have continued as well but I was thankful for it lol

This shit is too difficult for me these days. I've made a list countless times of the bands that got me into the scene almost 15 years ago but most of them are either disbanded and irrelevant, or are present on EVERYONE's list of that time period (you all know the ones). As of 2019 there are a host of bands that I follow primarily because they have members of some of those previously mentioned bands, and still plenty of others I'm genuinely impressed by on their own merit despite having little faith that they will be a talking point by next year. I'll just go by this year's activity - (still in no order) ヴィルシーナ(Verxina) ARTiCLEAR SHIVA ジグソウ(Jigsaw) NAZARE gulu gulu (really only for Mei so far) DIMLIM 仮病 DADAROMA "The current Ryo shit" (DALLE, KEEL, H-GRAM) < only gets one spot lol.
