I don't think it has to be a phase. It's about what you like the most and when you feel like Visual Kei doesn't give you this special something anymore you just listen to other sorts of music and if you don't like them anymore you'll listen to something else. In the end it's about if you're enjoying the music or not, doesn't matter if it's hip hop, jazz, rock or visual kei.
