doombox got a reaction from nick in Show Yourself (again)
Filtered to hell and back, but I don't like many pictures of myself enough to share. So this is the most recent thing I got.

doombox got a reaction from togz in Your top 10 favorite visual kei bands?
They are in the top 20 for sure!! Right next to ClearVeil & Dir en grey. But over the years some might have squeezed them out of the top 10... ^^;

Yeah I'll take a listen today once I get back home. That;s a good thought to keep in mind. I do still have to kinda laugh at the eclipse pv... just because there's so much going on it's a little cheesy.... but... the song was ok. I guess for me it as more of, I had just seen them at warped tour before that album came out, so that kind of feeling was fresh in my mind. Maybe now that it's been a while ...
I'm exited to see them live again at all. AND OF COURSE SEE YOU TOO

@dorasuteika I appreciate that. I definitely understand how someone could feel it was a step back, because it does sound like something that would come before Zion. But I think if you try to just look at the album as it's own thing and not where it came in their catalog... like if you had never heard them before, would you like this album?... it should show it's merits. I hope so, anyway. ^^
I'm also really excited to hear these songs live, because like you said, it can really make or break songs for me too.

I'll probably appreciate it more once I experience the songs live. It's not that it's bad... but I couldn't have said it better... Zion was so good, the newest album was a step backwards for me. But just because i respect your opinion most of the time, I'm going to give it a relisten. Sometimes if I step back from something and come back later I can appreciate it on a different level.

That's right, that's the way to do it. How to like the thing: Like the thing.

Crossfaith is a Japanese metalcore band from Osaka that was formed in 2006. The band is considered to play the style of music known as electronicore, due to their blend of influences from metalcore, industrial metal, hardcore, metal and electronica. They have thus been described as “Slipknot tearing The Prodigy limb from limb.”
Releases:
Apocalyze [2013.08.07]
Zion [2012.06.20]
The Dream, The Space [2011.04.20]

Is anyone else going to see them when they tour with The Amity Affliction this fall? Has anyone else seen them live? They tour outside of Japan a lot and with bigger bands like Bring Me The Horizon, Of Mice & Men, Enter Shikari, and they did Vans Warped in the US and UK. They've been my favorite non-vk band for a while now and even though Ken screams 90% of the time, I find their music isn't so heavy that it alienates people who wouldn't normally be into metal. I'd love to have other Crossfaith fans to talk to around here.

I second that. They really are super friendly and fun guys. I'm so excited that they're back.
I finalized my tickets and I'll be at all 3 California shows, Vancouver BC, Atlanta, all 3 Florida shows, and Dallas. I hope we get to finally hang out!

doombox reacted to Mind of the sun in Harvest
Haven't seen anything about this awesome band here.
They have a bit of a ''traditional'' sound mixed with screams so on.
Really great and i hope you like it!
Will post more info later, until then here is their official website and two of their music videos.

doombox got a reaction from Elazmus in [Band Battle] Chemical Pictures Vs Kurt
I enjoyed KuRt during their time, but I enjoyed CPS a lot more during theirs. It was just more polished and solid to me.

..... This isn't fair. THIS ISN'T FAIR.
God uh....
KuRt was one of my first vk bands, and really the band that sold me on tenten's voice you know?
I felt like for KuRt's time they had a pretty unique sound, and Tenten doesn't exactly have a typical voice either.
I do have to choose Chemical Pictures on this one simply because I like the more refined sound, and it's alot more mature sounding.
I still love KuRt to the end of the earth and back, but if I absolutely had to choose... I find myself listening to CPS a lot more these days.
I feel guilty for even choosing.

doombox got a reaction from plastic_rainbow in Favorite Visual Kei vocalists of all time?
逹瑯 / MUCC : He has such a unique voice and lots of passion behind it. I think people have always loved or hated him for it. And for having one of the deeper voices in visual kei, his falsetto is a thing of magic to me.
左迅 / girugamesh : His voice is always really piercing (some voices cut through music and others blend into it) and again, he has a lot of emotion that comes through. His scream is also probably my favorite amoung vk singers, though he doesn't do it as much anymore.
nigu / cocklobin, tosinn : His voice is what I imagine silk would sound like. It's just really smooth and has this ring to it. It's hard for me to explain, but I can get lost in it.
団長 / NoGoD, 新興宗教楽団NoGoD : His range is ridiculous, and while I didn't like his voice so much at the start, every release he got stronger and more solid and now I think he's very formidable, and grossly under appreciated.
櫻井 敦司 / Buck-Tick, solo : After all these years his voice still sounds amazing and beautiful. I never get tired of listening to him and he has a way of making his voice hard and aggressive without ever having to add grit or scream. It's just wonderful and I hope he never stops. Ever.
Honorable mentions: Hizumi / D'espairsRay, Yo-shiT (弥斗) / xTRiPx, CHISA / DIV, トラ / STEREO.C.K (ex. Sel'm)
