I agree with everything @Hakoniwa said. Even if you consider yourself an artist and love drawing, there are always times when your juices run dry and you don't draw for days, weeks, or months. The way I mostly see it though, these kinds of challenges give way to trying new things and going out of one's comfort zone, which is always a good thing. It isn't just an excuse to draw. It's a way of exploring further with what you can do with your skills. And it can be all very fun in the process!

Great to see that someone else here is doing Inktober! I've been posting mine up in my personal art thread here x x x (you might have to scroll a bit). And don't worry, I'm not very experienced with using ink either, and it's also my first time taking up the challenge (because I"ve been too busy in previous years to do it). But it's great practice and can be very fun sometimes~ I always love to see what other people can do with the medium, so thanks for making this topic and sharing your Inktober sketches! ^^ Here's my most recent Inktober for the 29th!

Seconding The Exorcist and Killer Klowns from Outer Space. However, I advise you not to drink green milk tea or any drink of similar color before watching The Exorcist (you'll know what I mean). a few general recs: Carrie 1976 Jacob's Ladder 1990 (personal favorite) Zombieland 2009 (comedy horror) Little Shop of Horrors 1986 (comedy horror) Insidious 2010 Some good Thai horrors: Shutter 2004 (this one gave me a good fright) Alone 2007 Coming Soon 2008 The Eye 10 (comedy horror)

a while ago i dreamt that i was sitting in a corner outside somewhere and trying to play bass on a stupid straw broom. reminds me of when i once had a dream about playing a two-string bass with strings made out of fabric. this one's also from a while ago, but i also had a dream about playing THE NOVEMBERS covers at a live venue as a bassist, and we were performing the song "pilica". this must mean that i should pick up my bass-playing again. i haven't touched it in about a year, but even so i'm still not that good anyway.

^I still need to play that one, it's the only Clock Tower game that I haven't played yet. Haunting Ground/Demento and Kuon are some other great ones. Wouldn't say the storyline for Kuon is amazing, but if you like horror games set in a historical period this is a good one. I haven't played many PC games or those on other platforms though, since I have a bigger focus on PS1 and PS2 games.

i think it has been said enough that they actually sound great live compared to their live footage so no need to repeat myself here. and i'm sure that most others who have seen them also agree. watching that makes me miss them so much now....... ;__;

Decided to translate something fitting for Halloween. I've been wanting to translate this song anyway~ Lyrics: aie Music: aie Kanji source: jpopasia English: THE ZOMBIE Bitten by someone passing me, the one next to me also bites another Surrendering myself to my numb body, I slip into a hazy field of vision Goodbye The sky was blue from morning on that day, and the visible scenery was blue again I stop at a wall stained by blood and look back on a rainy day Maybe I should go back sadly alone, crouching my ribs[1] A face remains from a distant beautiful woman, and pain ran through her thin chest To think that my friend was a prey, and right before my eyes Maybe I should eat a strange bird, crouching my ribs Hunger, in the distorted rain, wind, and sun, it calls clarity as overcast[2] And slipped into a dissolve of clouds, maybe maybe I only realized it after the meal, as I chewed on the ring I gave Unaware of my streaming tears, I stare intently at the distant prey The one I stepped on was my lover, crouching my ribs Hunger, in the distorted rain, wind, and sun, it calls clarity as overcast And slipped into a dissolve of clouds, navy rainy ---------------------------- Translation notes: [1] Not entirely sure about the "crouching my ribs" part. [2] Literally "it calls transparency as opaque", but since mention of the sky and rain occur throughout the lyrics, I thought that maybe this was referring to the sky. Therefore, I substituted the words with "clarity" and "overcast". Feel free to check out my lyric blog for more of my translations. Thanks for looking! ^^

it's recommended that you have a high-end pc, but i have a laptop and still use it. however, it's not recommended if you use a laptop because the fan runs wild (i just don't care as much because i'm cheap and rather play games for free, but i also try not to play for too long, for example around 2 hours). been doing it for years and my laptop hasn't broken down that badly. only thing is that the fan may go off more often with whatever you're doing (which is well, technically still not a good sign...). as for running games, a few select games work quite well for me. some games though that are perhaps more graphic heavy may not run well at all, for example SH2, MGS2, and Odin Sphere. you can still try out ps2 emulation with whatever pc/laptop you have though because why not? don't know about wii emulation, but as far as i know gc emulation works! my brothers were the ones who configured it onto their desktop pc so i'm not knowledgeable about it.

Ahh yeah, the attack controls are quite bad, I forgot. Your attack range is so small it can be frustrating sometimes. Oh yeah, and a couple times during a boss battle the enemy would give me damage even though it was attacking the opposite direction of me. I might have struggled a lot more if I wasn't using an emulator.....Something kind of minor, but whenever you go up the stairs the camera jags a bit. Other than that, there's always that thing with changing camera screens and accidentally going in the wrong direction (that's why i prefer controls with the run button). If you can forget all that though, the storyline and setting is worth it~

so in love with this piece even 20 minutes on loop is not enough.

Fatal Frame 5 left such a bad taste I went back and replayed Fatal Frame 2 (my favorite of the series). I continued wherever I left off the last time I played, which was quite long ago, and apparently I beat through the hard mode and started a new game on nightmare mode. Nightmare mode isn't actually so bad if you maxed out your camera and stocked up on items in your previous gameplays. The only troubling thing I had was that the ghosts give you a hefty amount of damage causing you to use herbal or sacred water every time you take damage. I also cleared all the missions except for the very last one. Just need to clear that one and I'll finally unlock one of the costumes~ I also finished Rule of Rose recently and loved it more than I thought I would. It began with a very strange story line, making very little sense to me (i didn't read much about the game), but when I got to the end everything became clear and I might even say that it's one of my favorite games now. The beautiful soundtrack truly adds to the experience. I don't think there are enough horror games that use classical tunes for their bgms, as most horror games often use creepy ambient noises. Not saying that it's a bad thing, but I just love it when I can explore areas in the game while enjoying sad violins/cellos and melancholic piano melodies in the background. The only other game I know that does this is Clock Tower 3 during the chapter with the young girl pianist. The Evil Within also uses Clair de Lune for the save room, but that's slightly different. Anyway, great game is great. Right now I'm trying to unlock secret items and costumes~

aww, only two submissions? i'm glad i took part so that @The Reverend wouldn't be lonely again, haha. that jack-o-lantern design is cool~
-
was hoping that it's just a joke on it being a last live of the year, since it's scheduled very close to the end, but it's a little ambiguous.....
-
cool! always excited to see some new material from them even if they're only remixes/rerecorded stuff. november is turning into the month of releases~!

don't listen to that many female vocalists but i love these three pretty hard: tsukiko amano/tsuki amano nana kitade chieko kawabe (miss her so much) i also like salyu's voice, but i've only heard her breathe album.

kinda like the live version more because of the deeper sounding bass, but still great~!
