Kazuya Tanizawa doesn't care about the formatting of your "lies."
  5. Number Girl

When I was at a baby shower, I ate the last pig-in-a-blanket and Kazuya Tanizawa got mad and spit on my child.

Eh, it depends. I really should do it more often for the potential yen I could save, but I mostly do bulk buying when I'm "behind" on music such as around holidays. Normally if I have the money at the time, I just buy things as they become available for pre-order. I also get impatient and like to have things very soon after they are released.

(Lololol wtf) Kazuya Tanizawa threw a bowl of cottage cheese at my face screaming "YOLO!"

Life of Pi I read the novel earlier this year and loved it. The movie was spectacular in Blu-Ray; a very beautiful film.

Yoshiki said he's been (supposedly) "recording 2 days nonstop" on FB - I guess some kind of progress is being made on something?
  16. Number Girl

Kazuya Tanizawa is the former governor of North Dakota.
  17. Number Girl

Kazuya Tanizawa is actually my ex-husband

Yoshiki posted a Facebook picture of himself in the studio recording on drums so I'm guessing some sort of new project is in the works. I wonder if Yoshiki is also going to mention anything about the Violet UK album he made a big deal about this year? Was looking forward to that more than the crappy English self-covers he originally said was going to be on the new album.

I think decent lyrics are usually a "bonus" for me. When it comes to Japanese artists, I enjoy translations for the sheer fact that it satisfies my curiosity about the meaning of the song but I don't see them as necessary for my enjoyment of the music or the band. I've realized that English translators on the internet can make any weepy, emo song about being in the "friend zone" into beautiful poetry with a little bit of imagination and so I've stopped basing my judgement off of translations. I honestly don't think I'll ever be able to fully appreciate some lyrics without a bit of knowledge of the Japanese language - but that's just my view. The important part for me is the sound of the vocalist, the melody, and the atmosphere of the song as a whole. For English songs, lyrics matter slightly more but I've realized that it isn't a huge difference. I enjoy tons of hip-hop/rap and pop songs that come on the radio that have incredibly shallow/dumb lyrics, but when an artist does have very thoughtful or moving lyrics I share a deeper connection with the song than I would a song in Japanese.

I'm familiar with Scorpions, Deftones, and Korpiklaani though I'm neither a casual listener nor a fan of any of them, unfortunately. 1. Gackt - 雪月花 -The end of silence- 2. Eddie Vedder - Long Nights 3. Concerto Moon - Lonely Last Journey 4. Whitesnake - Don't Break My Heart Again 5. Volcano - Crazy Red Machine 6. D'espairsRay - Redeemer 7. Boris - You Laughed Like a Watermark 8. Boris - Akuma no Uta 9. B'z - Wake Up, Right Now 10. B'z - Lady Navigation Yay, two awesome bands showed up twice! I love this Boris song - very relaxing and soothing.

Every era has had its ups and downs. I think my leanings towards older visual kei has more to do with my personal tastes. I have a thing for 80's inspired rock/punk/metal/glam music and styles, which most older VK takes inspiration from. However, that's not to say the old era of visual kei had some incredibly pitiful bands too - it wasn't all full of glory and epicness as people make it out to be. Think An Cafe was tacky? Look up the band Aura. Although, I will admit that I don't believe that there have been any newer visual bands that have come close to the talent and success of bands such as Luna Sea, X Japan, etc. I don't think bands like Gazette really have that same spark, even though they have come a long way from the bottom.

I have no idea about VOLA! Their website is still up and I don't think I've seen an official hiatus/disbandment announcement anywhere (I probably wouldn't know because I can't read Japanese). I follow Inazawa on Twitter and Facebook and it sounds like he's mostly DJing at clubs and working on other side projects right now. I think they are just taking a break? If anyone could shed some light on this mystery, I'd be very happy.
